Dick Eagleson: In this case, the range has been used to land returning spacecraft for years, which means much of the paperwork was taken care a long time ago and has now been grandfathered in.

Though if this range, which is now attempting to become a commercially profitable spaceport, begins getting a lot of business we should not be surprised if the vampires that now run Australia’s government begin to salivate over it.

Never fear, though, Varda. If Oz overcomes the current US lead in paperwork hurdles you can always try Oman. It has been trying to establish a spaceport lately and has a lot of raw desert that would make a good landing zone for your capsules.
