Local police are increasingly becoming paramilitary in nature.

Of course, as in Newtown, CT., at those times they fail to protect and serve. Evidence is strong that the police remained safely outside, waiting for all sorts of additional 'forces' while the killing was still going on. Their mindset makes a farce of the protect and serve notion, they protected and served only themselves that day, as on many others. But when there's no firing they are great at kicking down doors. IOW, thuggery is easy. Read Will Griggs, among others in this regard.

Men used to rush in, now they sit and wait.

In this case its not so much the Police who are at fault here. They were only doing their job and it looks like even they really did not want to do this one so much. They didn't come back with a warrant.

This has far more to do with the Child Protection service. They are getting WAY over bearing and heavy handed. The fact that they thought a child was being abused in some way by just a picture of that child with a gun is the disturbing part.

When my parents went to school the high schools had shooting teams and students actually had weapons inside the school. During hunting season every truck in the parking lot would have a shotgun in the back window and all their owners would be wearing camo to school since they just left the hunting fields.
Now just 50 years later students can't even eat a pop tart that might end up in a gun shape without the school going stupid.

This police and child welfare inspection attempt is a further effect of the emasculation of America. Not just the emasculation of our men but the general national change in attitude.
We can not even teach or children the traditions of our ancestors without having to pass them through their(the liberals) filters of approval.
Its the same with our religions. We can not teach it to our children without passing through their filters of approval. Parochial schools must pass their rules and also teach their curriculum first.
Even if you send your children to public schools your religion must now pass through their filters. With is to say no mention of religion in public schools at all. It might upset someone else.
Even when your finally out of school your religion passes through their filters. Their filters are the constant attacks on it through comedy and comment in the mass media.

This whole incident is a sick commentary on our new society.
It must be fought until they see they are the new "Man" and their rules are bordering on the fascism they say they were fighting oh so many years ago. The roles have reversed and they don't even realize it yet. They are now everything they fought against.

"or Congress to specify that the First Amendment shall apply only to the following books and shall not apply to the books that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights?"

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) breached this very issue this week when questioning California senator Dianne Feinstein. He asked: "The question that I would pose to the senior Senator from California is would she deem it consistent with the Bill of Rights for Congress to engage in the same endeavor that we are contemplating doing with the Second Amendment in the context of the First or Fourth Amendment, namely, would she consider it constitutional for Congress to specify that the First Amendment shall apply only to the following books and shall not apply to the books that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights?

Likewise, would she think that the Fourth Amendment's protection against searches and seizures could properly apply only to the following specified individuals and not to the individuals that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights?"

So if anyone anonymously calls in a concern about child abuse the police can enter a home without any investigation or warrant? I would think that the police would have to have more than a pretty civilized picture of a child holding a gun on facebook to establish the entering of a home without a warrant. Maybe an interview or other corroborated evidence would justify such action. I would also think that a Constitutional law suit against the police would be considered related to the abuse of power and illegal entry (if the wife did not invite them to come in).
