On the other hand, a live &quot;broadcast&quot; of a race on the moon could bring in more revenue than the prize.  I would be willing to spend some money on that &quot;pay per view.&quot;  

Once again, space has become an interesting place.  The Europeans created a lot of drama with their Rosetta probe and even more with Philae&#039;s attempted landing.  Now we have a proposed literal race, funded by the public, not by the government, with the added benefit that each race car will also have another mission of exploration after the race.  How many viewers, and others, will continue reading or watching the updates during the following days or weeks as their favorite car(s) makes new discoveries?]]></description>

That sort of reads like shared launcher, only landers. 

But risk of 10 rovers in one lander is much higher if the lander fails.  

Getting 10 rovers to land in the same area is a much harder task as well.]]></description>
