This is a youth orchestra based in one of most violent neighborhoods in the city of Recife, in the Northeast state of Pernambuco. This non-profit social organizations aims to help lift at risk children out of their environment of gangs and drugs. They attend a special school 5 hours per day. The organization has over 380 students. In this clip they are playing two bossa nova and samba classics at a reception for the Heads of State attending the BRICS conference (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) in Brasilia, the capitol of Brazil. Their youtube channel shows concerts around the world to this organization of mostly middle and working class youth.
