I was very excited about MTV’s debut, because I thought the artists would have a chance to show the audience what the visuals were when they were writing the song, or produce a ‘short’ that illustrated the song. That is not what happened. With rare exceptions, Robert’s observation is exactly what happened. Concepts are great, but not if no one knows what you’re talking about.
