Drill issue stalls Curiosity again

It appears that some issue uncovered yesterday during the continuing analysis of Curiosity’s drill caused the engineers to canceled a planned drive.

    Frankly after these many scares, I think they should abandon the drill all together. Curiosity may not be may favorite rover, but it would be a shame to lose a still viable piece of scientific equipment because of obsessive engineers not wanting to lose a single, troublesome and outright dangerous tool. If they have the capacity, they should completely isolate it’s power supply lines and cut their losses. Last I checked they still have a suite of other instruments and a super neato laser to play with. Forget the drill and move on.
