Free speech in modern America: Protesters shout down New York police commissioner Raymond Kelly at Brown University.

I don’t particularly agree with Kelly’s policies, but I am even more strongly offended by these protesting thugs. Kelly came to give a speech. They should be respectful and let him speak.

My fantasy solution to such a situation, no matter who it was speaking, would be to either just leave or step off the stage and retrieve my trusty bull horn and ear plugs and speak for the time I was allotted about what it was that I was going to talk about. I would finish my speech, thank the audience and then go about the rest of my day. The audience and the protestors would be exhausted.

I could see a person like representative Grayson of Florida pulling something like this off.
