Even as the left ramps up its effort to cancel Columbus, new DNA data suggests he was born of Jewish parents

How Democrats in Philadelphia celebrated
Christopher Columbus in 2022, placing
a box over his statue so no one could see it.
Now we know why the anti-Semitic left has been striving for years to cancel Columbus: New DNA analysis of the remains of Christopher Columbus now strongly suggests his ancestry was Jewish and that he might even have come originally from Spain, not Italy as has been long claimed.
“We have DNA from Christopher Columbus, very partial, but sufficient. We have DNA from Hernando Colón, his son,” [said forensic expert Miguel Lorente]. “And both in the Y chromosome (male) and in the mitochondrial DNA (transmitted by the mother) of Hernando there are traits compatible with Jewish origin.”
Around 300,000 Jews lived in Spain before the ‘Reyes Catolicos’, Catholic monarchs Isabella and Ferdinand, ordered Jews and Muslims to convert to the Catholic faith or leave the country. Many settled around the world. The word Sephardic comes from Sefarad, or Spain in Hebrew.
After analysing 25 possible places, Lorente said it was only possible to say Columbus was born in Western Europe.
Though these results do involve a lot of uncertainties, they are very intriguing and indeed quite possible. If Columbus was born Jewish he would have had to convert in order to have any chance of obtaining work in Catholic Spain. He would have also done everything he could to keep secret his Jewish ancestry.
As this is Columbus Day, which for almost a century has been an American holiday to celebrate this greatest of explorers who changed human history, it is not surprising that this news was released just last week. It is also not surprising that the campaign to cancel Columbus continues.
For example, St. John’s University in New York this year removed any mention of Columbus today, The day now is simply referred to as the “Fall Mini Break.”
Meanwhile, the Trump campaign today released footage of Kamala Harris celebrating this day not as Columbus Day but as “Indigenous Peoples Day,” created expressly by the left to slander everything Colombus and other western explorers did. In Harris’s own words describing this day, Columbus becomes a non-person:
It is an honor, of course, to be with this week, as we celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, as we speak truth about our nation’s history. Since 1934, every October, the United States has recognized the voyage of the European explorers who first landed on the shores of the Americas. But that is not the whole story. That has never been the whole story. Those explorers ushered in a wave of devastation for tribal nations, perpetrating violence, stealing land, and spreading disease. We must not shy away from this shameful past, and we must shed light on it and do everything we can to address the impact of the past on Native communities today.
In other words, Columbus is now just one of many “European explorers,” and what they did was totally evil.
Like all leftists Harris completely focuses on the bad consequences of the discovery of the New World by western explorers, and cancels any of their positive achievements. First, the Europeans were not the only ones “perpetrating violence, stealling land, and spreading disease.” The native tribes were equally if not more savage and violent. The west brought literacy and the rule of law to the New World, something that had only existed marginally and intermittently in a few locations beforehand.
The west also brought civilization to the natives, the vast majority of which were living in primitive stone-age tribal societies. And the technology the west brought to the New World has done more to raise up the indigenous populations than any human sacrifices to their gods ever did.
That Columbus might have been born Jewish really matters little. What matters is the revolution his voyage brought to all humanity. It closed the circle on the globe, and brought about five hundred years of exploration and eventually the age of Enlightenment.
That the left has been striving to slander that achievement reveals more about it than it does about Columbus.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

WOULD STANELY KUBRICK APPROVE?
“Vivian Kubrick’s letter regarding the Trump campaign using clips from her father, Stanely Kubrick’s epic award-winning antiwar movie: “Full Metal Jacket”.
Read the letter and watch the campaign video and understand what the now radical un–American Democrat party and the radical authoritarian Globalists are attempting to force on America and the world that will ensure warfare, instability, death and destruction: ”

Q: The radical rewriters of history that that Abraham Lincoln was “Gay”, was the same found to be true of Columbus?
Prudence is advised as the scientists have not published their results. We don’t even know basic information like what y chromosomal haplogroup was Columbus.. They simply categorically stated that Columbus was Jewish. They need to at least release some basic genetic data regarding their findings rather than categorically state it on a television program. Absent this; we must take their claims with a healthy dose of skepticism until they can make their claim in a scientific paper.
Thanks for recognizing Columbus Day.
One should note, also, that “has (some? all?) Jewish ancestry” does not mean “identified as Jewish at some point in his life, then converted” — it’s possible that some ancestors of his were Jewish (or a related group) but then converted to Christianity a century or three before Columbus was born. Needs more detail work before we start drawing conclusions.
Whether Spanish, Italian, Jewish, or Roman Catholic is of no matter. Columbus brought much needed diversity to the New World.
Has any one of you had a note of thanks, from our indigenous citizens, for the white man bringing forth his wondrous inventions to this former wasteland? I know I haven/t. Wonder why?

Coincidentally, The Catholic Monarchs of Spain at the time, Ferdinand and Isabella, ordered all Jews and Muslims to convert to Catholicism or leave. This happened in 1492 just months before Columbus… chose to leave.
This is an attempt to compare Palestinians to American Indians. “See? They did it to you first !”
