The left only has a short window remaining to stop its violence before the hammer strikes it hard
So there is no confusion, my headline is not something I advocate. It is merely what seems inevitable when a law abiding society — America — has within it a subculture (the modern left led by the very corrupt and power-hungry Democratic Party) that thinks it is not only above the law, but its ideology justifies all kinds of violence. To wit, there’s this post today by Guy Benson, nicely summarizing only a small selection of recent leftist violence. I quote it in full, because this is necessary to get the feel of reality:
I’d like to ask my non-conservative followers to pay attention here for a moment. I don’t need a response or a rebuttal or a ‘whatabout.’ Just read on and consider what I’m saying. Please.
We are only a few weeks removed from a leading conservative figure being shot in the throat and killed by a leftist, for and during his speech, at a public speaking event. Stunning, jarring numbers of leftist Americans justified or celebrated this assassination, aligning with multiple public polls showing that a sizable minority of leftists in this country think political violence can be acceptable.
Today — just today — many conservatives are thinking about:
(1) a major leftist statewide candidate being exposed for sending texts to a political opponent (R) explicitly hoping for the death of another conservative political opponent…along with the deaths of that opponents’ young children. He WROTE DOWN that the pain of those deaths might promote his own agenda, which would be worth it, in his estimation. This candidate is now condemning his current conservative opponent for noticing this information.
And also (2) a development in the case of a leftist would-be assassin of a conservative Supreme Court Justice, who traveled across the country, heavily armed, with the stated intent of murdering up to three right-leaning Justices because he was angry about their abortion jurisprudence. The leftist judge in the case rejected prosecutors’ request for a multi-decade sentence, giving the defense team the very lenient sentence they’d sought. The leftist judge, in her reasoning, cited the criminal’s trans identity as a factor & expressed happiness that the assassination plot and its aftermath helped with the criminal’s family therapy around the trans issue. And also (3) yet another violent leftist attack — this time an apparent ambush — against federal immigration officers. This did not take place in Dallas, where a leftist sniper very recently went on a deadly spree while trying to murder as many ICE officers as possible. This one happened in Illinois, where the leftist governor just called these officers “jack booted thugs.” Violent attacks on these federal agents (thugs, fascists, gestapo, per various leading leftist politicians) are up approximately *one thousand percent,* per DHS.
And also (4) a prominent university being pressured into reversing its attempt to shut down a conservative event commemorating the second anniversary of the Oct 7 terrorist massacre of Jews — because, the school said, they were worried about the security situation around the event. They were referring, of course, to the violent Islamist-Leftist coalition pro-Hamas mob, which has engaged in harassment, threats, violence and murder ever since that mass slaughter.
AND YET, we see many of our leftist friends tweeting and posting about how *their opponents* are the “dangerous” and “authoritarian” “fascists.”
I ask you to try to contemplate, even for a quiet moment or two, how this might strike many of us.
That’s all for now. Thank you.

killing Republicans and their kids, he also
advocated killing some cops also.
For those on the left who wish to make believe none of this is happening, here are the sources for paragraphs #1, #2,
#3, and #4. Nor is Benson’s list even close to complete. For example, it was learned today that Jack Smith, a special council appointed by Biden illegally to hound Trump with charges, used that appointment to spy illegally on eight Republican senators and one House Republican. This on top of the now documented Russian collusion hoax and the Obama administrations documented spying on Trump’s campaign in 2016.
Benson is trying to get those on the left to realize that the patience of the right is clearly beginning to wear out. At some point it will begin responding with force, in a way that the left will not like, at all.
Nor will anyone else in this country who believes in civilization and the rule of law like it either.
We can get an inkling of the terrible things to expect by Trump’s decision this past weekend to ignore a leftist judge and send 300 National Guard troops to Portland to protect its ICE facilities from the constant vandalism and attacks by Antifa mobs. The judge had ruled quite absurdly that the President was not allowed to do this simply because “protests near the ICE processing facility in south Portland were ‘small and uneventful,'” an irrelevant conclusion even if it was true (which it is not). The President always has the right to defend federal property from attack, and no court can stop him.
Trump’s decision to ignore the judge’s ruling however continues us down that slippery slope to no laws at all. The judge (along with all the leftist judges that since Trump took office have been acting as if they ran the executive branch) began that journey. Trump is merely following them down.
Worse, at some point the right is going to begin responding to the left’s illegal violence with its own violence. It has so far refrained from doing so, apparently because the right really does believe in the rule of law, civilization, and our Constitution.
The left quite clearly at this moment no longer does. All it cares about is to oppose any action taken by Donald Trump, no matter how legal or sensible, and to oppose it with increasing violence.
If the left doesn’t back off from this childish, tantrum-like agenda, the right will soon have to respond in kind, if only in self defense. And when that happens, civilization, the rule of law, and our Constitution will go out the window.
Benson is providing the left a warning. It would be rational for the left to heed it and to calm down. Unfortunately, that is not likely to happen. As Winston Churchill wrote after spending pages documenting why it made no sense for the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor,
Governments and people do not always take rational decisions. Sometimes they take mad decisions, or one set of people get control who compel all others to obey and aid them in their folly. I have not hesitated to record repeatedly my disbelief that Japan would go mad. However sincerely we try to put ourselves in another person’s position, we cannot allow for processes of the human mind and imagination to which reason offers no key.
Right now, I can see no peaceful solution. Hopefully, Trump will continue to wield the power of the federal government according to law, as he has done now in almost every case.
There is no guarantee of that, however. Politics is unfortunately about the lust for power, and our Founding Fathers gave us the Constitution as a tool to restrain that lust. Increasingly that tool is being ignored, first by the left, but soon I fear by the right as well.
The future feels very grim indeed, should the left continue on its mad irrational path. More and more, it looks like the vultures are out for blood, and nothing will stop them but more blood.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News
We can only hope and pray that sanity will prevail.
I, too, fear that the Right, or fringe elements on the Right, will eventually strike out in response to the Left’s unending violence.
The Right must restrain itself, as it has to this point. Taking the proverbial “high road”, and acting strictly within the law, would be the best choice for the Right, and for the country. A failure to do this would lead to the sort of chaos and anarchy the Leftists desire, an end to America.
