The left’s face of evil
Laughter at learning Charlie Kirk had been shot
In the past day social media has been filled with numerous examples of individuals on the left proudly posting videos and commentary on line celebrating gleefully the murder of Charlie Kirk (here, here, here, here, here for just a few examples). There is even now a webpage, Charlie’s Murderers, that is complying these examples, having already obtained more than 20,000 submissions.
One could reasonably argue that these videos and hateful comments do not represent the left and the Democratic Party. They are put out by “influencers” who want to impact opinion. Ordinary Democrats are simply not like that.
Sadly, that is not true. These leftist “influencers” represent without doubt the left’s base culture, and the picture to the right proves it. It comes from a video taken by a student in a class at North Texas University. Apparently the class had just learned that Kirk had been killed, and were joyfully laughing about it. The student recorded this reaction, and then in horror protested.
Why are we cheering for someone getting shot? … He has a family!
Her protests was immediately ridiculed by the others, who as the picture shows were happy to learn Kirk was killed for his political beliefs. Worse, according to the tweet, the teacher “singled her out and asked her to leave.” Watch for yourself:

What makes this video different than the videos posted by the leftwing influencers above is that these students weren’t posting anything. They were not trying to make a public point. They were just candidly responding to the news, and giving us a completely honest response. In sense their actions were an illustration of the old saying, “If you want to find out what a person is really like, watch what they do when they don’t know anyone is watching.”
What these students showed us here is that they, as representatives of the left, are cold, inhuman monsters who revel in the death of another human being.
North Texas is a decidedly leftist university that I have cited several times previously for its blacklisting and censorship of conservatives, by both the faculty and student body. Thus, it doesn’t surprise me that the general culture there celebrates the murder of a conservative.
The problem however isn’t merely at North Texas University. This poisonous hateful attitude permeates the left. And I am not simply speaking off the top of my hat. I’ve seen this same behavior hundreds of times, when I taught the New School in New York, when I was working in the film business, when as a journalist I attended press conferences, and even among my secular Jewish relatives. All of these communities are dominated by the left, and everyone there always assumes everyone present agrees with them. Thus, I would see them time after do exactly the same thing as the students above, unconsciously and routinely revealing their hatred of conservatives, thinking no one is watching. But like the girl on this video, I would watch, get disgusted like this girl, and frequently point out that malignity.
And just like this girl, I would find myself experiencing my own session of two-minute hate. And blacklisting would soon follow.
We have to recognize that this is the culture of the left. They are more than simply intolerant and close-minded. They have reached the point that they wish death on anyone who disagrees with them. And if you call them on it, their response is to 1) deny it, and 2) move to silence you in whatever manner they can.
In the case of Charlie Kirk, that silencing now required a bullet in the neck. And what we all should fear most is that the students smiling in that picture above are increasingly enthused by such a thing.
This is the case with the confessed killer of Charlie Kirk, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. The evidence now strongly suggests that Robinson was apparently radicalized by the toxic, slanderous language of Antifa.
As noted by the Spirit of Christmas Present in Dickens’ The Christmas
Carol, “This boy is ignorance, this girl is want. Beware them both,
but most of all beware this boy.” Click for movie.
According to [Utah governor Spencer] Cox, one cartridge was inscribed with: “Hey fascist! Catch!” Another read: “Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao.” The latter is are lyrics from the World War II-era Italian resistance song that has been adopted by Antifa as an unofficial anthem. It is frequently sung at their rallies and the song’s titled featured on their signs and slogans. In 2019, Washington state Antifa gunman Willem van Spronsen closed his manifesto with “Bella ciao” before attacking an ICE facility in Tacoma with a rifle and incendiary devices. He was shot dead while trying to ignite a propane tank close to the building and has since been glorified by Antifa as a hero and martyr.
Gov. Cox also verbally described (and did not show) arrow inscriptions: up arrow, right arrow, and three down arrow symbols. The three down arrows may be the Antifa “Iron Front” symbol, though this cannot be confirmed until images are released. The arrows, if lined up, could also be a reference to the Hellsdivers video game, in which the arrows represent a bomb weapon that can be used. The governor noted that other casings read: “If you read this you are gay lmao” and “Notices, bulges OWO what’s this?” The latter appears to be a reference to a furry online meme.
Cox’s clarification narrows the speculation: the casings bear clear Antifa references but, at this stage, do not appear to contain any direct mention of trans ideology.
In other words, it appears that Tyler Robinson was either linked with the leftist terrorist group Antifa, or had been strongly influenced by its radical hateful agenda, that considers anyone who simply disagrees with it to be a Nazi and a fascist.
We will I am sure learn more about Robinson in the coming days. The bottom line however remains: The culture of the left has become violently cancerous, and unless it reforms itself soon, our entire society will be obligated to cut it out.
And that removal will not be pretty and beneficial, to anyone.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News
Just remember Charlie tried to reach kids like these–a lot of folks who grew up went through this phase early—he would have called it the mission field.
” . . . unless it reforms itself soon, our entire society will be obligated to cut it out.”
How, exactly?
Andrew_W: That is the $64,000 dollar question. I hope peacefully. I fear worse. Either way, societies always make such adjustments. It was the dream of our Founding Fathers that our Constitution would give us a method for doing it sanely and without violence.
That so many on the left now reject that Constitution suggests other ways will be sadly necessary.
If Charlie had survived the shooting, he would have prayed for the soul of the shooter. He would have urged all of us to pray for the soul of the shooter.
The above drives the Left even more crazy.
I can just hear the wackos:
“How dare you pray for someone to stop hating!”
Society is already “cutting it out”. MANY parents of high-school-age children I know are guiding their children to the trades instead of college, as the payback is so much greater, and the indoctrination so much less. Pay attention to folks like Mike Rowe, who is a fantastic supporter of the trades.
I would also note that parents who do want their kids to go to college are being very conscious of the political atmosphere. Of course, there are some for which crazy is the choice, but you can feel and see the “hard times” making “strong men”. Charlie was a pathfinder. We can hope that the foundations he’s laid (similar to what Andrew Breitbart did with media) can now stand and be built upon.
All Republican politicians must immediately cease communication with mainstream media outlets. Do not accept invitations to interviews. Do not answer questions. Ignore them and walk on. HOW STUPID OR VENAL MUST YOU BE TO CONVERSE WITH THESE SNAKES. After all the venomous bites they’ve inflicted. How many wounds must it take for you to learn wisdom?
States and the Federal governments must cease ALL taxpayer funding for ALL universities. All student loan programs must be canceled. Let the universities sink or swim on their own resources. (Look up Harvard’s financial holdings.) Let them become private entities seeking private funding through the mechanism of capitalism—that ultimate arbiter between utility and pointlessness.
Like a lot of you (or so I hope), I’m done. Finally. That includes, for me, the acceptance of Christianity (a word Google refuses to autocomplete, by the way), after living decades as an oh-so-superior atheistic “cultural Christian.” Let the physicists argue among themselves. Until they arrive at The Answer (and perhaps after), I am free to choose. I choose love, mercy and the Christian God. Not jubilation over a peaceful man’s murder (actually the defining event that created Christianity… Note that Google also refuses to autocomplete “assassination.” Are you beginning to understand?)
Of course the state and federal politicians, of all parties, will never allow their state universities to fend for themselves. Nor will they allow local control of K-12 education. Just as the (otherwise admirable? or not…) Ted Cruz (a pitifully weak and niche example) will continue to lavish our tax money on the execrable SLS for his own personal enrichment and continued hold on power. Greed and power. An awesome tag team beating the crap out of civilizational advancement. I am so freaking angry. I urge all of you to fight the insanity, through words, and action. Determined, forceful, moral action. I promise to do so, old and weak and pitiful though I am.
And for those jaded souls who will laugh (as I would have not too long ago) at my transformation and what you might call empty braggadocio: Continue on with your intellectual and moral emptiness.
By the way, please donate to Charlie’s family at the Turning Point USA website.
I asked Copilot to give me an illustration of the word “FACILE”
It played the NPR coverage of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Most stunning is that the shooters parents weren’t greybeard Marin County transplants as many might have thought. The were the typical Mitt Romney button down types.
In the 1960s, parents were shocked when kids thought for themselves.
Today, many folks leave their thinking to someone else.
The 3x is indeed a strategem code (a way of calling in various items) for a 500KG bomb strike from air support (https://helldivers.fandom.com/wiki/Eagle_500kg_Bomb) in Helldivers II. Helldivers II is set in a very tounge in cheek universe that resembles Mr Verhoeven’s abhorrent take on Starship Troopers. Its all the rage currently in first person shooters.
Those who hate Charlie Kirk never listened to Charlie Kirk.
They just listened to what other people cherry picked from his speeches and debates. They are lead by the race hustlers..
I have never seen Charlie ever say what they think he is saying.
And its true if you say anything they do not agree with they hate you. The left no longer listens to opposing ideas or even logic without feelings.
I have watched them try to shout him down, try to trick him into saying racist or sexist things. They always lost.
Now I am watching people gather spontaneously around the country honoring him. People in foreign nations doing the same.
Jeff Wright wrote: “In the 1960s, parents were shocked when kids thought for themselves.”
Did they think for themselves, or were they indoctrinated by professors like Timothy Leary?
pzatchok wrote: “They just listened to what other people cherry picked from his speeches and debates. They are lead by the race hustlers”
The race hustlers that they were lead by did not tell them anything truthful that Charley Kirk said. That would have involved ideas that the haters would have agreed with, and they would most likely have been turned, too.
I used to often watch his videos. Now I watch them more often.
I still say that there is a huge amount of conformation bias going on here… The crap will always float to the top. The vast majority of Democratic leaning folks have no murderous intent, but they also have no voice, and no one interested in giving them a voice. They don’t make for click bait headlines.
If it is true that all democrats are evil baby killers with only hate in their hearts then it’s time for the whole of the US to turn the mirror on itself and ask a few questions how half of your population ended up that way? ( I don’t for one second believe they are… But consider it a thought experiment)
Evil athiest socialist git that I am, I still advocate against fighting hate with hate… The Jesus that the christian right follow ( a Palestinian…. Just throwing that out there…) preached a message of loving ones enemy and turning the other cheek. Perhaps time to sit down and have a long hard think how you want this current situation to pan out?
Woke progressive Marxism is a sort of unholy trinity – a political philosophy, a religious cult absent a deity and any belief in an afterlife, and a personality disorder. Turning Point was designed by Charlie Kirk to be, in essence, talk therapy for the personality disorder. He was killed because that therapy has proven quite effective. I suspect his martyrdom will only increase its effectiveness over time.
That will be one long-term route to dealing with this particular malignant social contagion. Another will be to continue the systematic defunding of the left – cutting it off from taxpayer funds. DOGE made a decent start. Trump’s recent revocation of recognition of several federal employee labor unions is a decent start toward complete elimination of these cancerous institutions at every level of government. Taxpayer-supported educational institutions and private educational institutions that receive government support of any kind need to be wrested away from the control of the left as well. Marxism somewhat resembles Islam in that it is most dangerous when it has money.
As for leftist violence, finding and bringing those who commit it to justice can tamp it out now just as it did in the 70s. This, of course, requires that the institutions of justice be purged of progressive marxists. That can only happen if the Democratic Party can be kept from national power indefinitely while the woke fifth-columnists in state and local governments are marginalized and eliminated over time as their enabling office holders are defeated and removed. This latter effort doesn’t have to be 100% effective, it just has to be effective enough to remove power from this ideology’s adherents to continue imposing their will at state and local levels. That battle needs to be fought in all blue states and cities.
Among tools that will help this process will be eliminating the non-citizen population of the country from consideration when it comes to redrawing representational districts of all kinds at all levels.
No one that I have heard is making this absolute statement:
“All democrats are evil baby killers “.
No one.
There is however an element of the more radical “progressive” Democrat party associated primarily composed of young idealistic “educated”, Marxist oriented people white, black and brown who have been conditioned to fundamentally hated the country that they were born in and they by extension believe that it is their “righteous”, “moralistic”, Subjective perspective that MUST be adhered to, or else.
And that is just not what the Constitution structures.
Where does it come from? I think we would have to look at the feminist / Liberal Democrat party primarily movement over the last 50 or so years, The enemies of America that work to subvert its Constitution in the Communist world and politicians on both sides of the aisle who are in the battle for acquiring and retaining political power.
Listen to a former professional subverter for the Communists, Uri Bezmenov, he describes exactly what is now on going in America today. Britain and the EU? Already gone: https://youtu.be/Z1EA2ohrt5Q?si=6qjopROTRbMkzXtk
Their Mantra? “Destroy the Patriarchy!”

If you choose to change your political thinking or worse, have dark skin, and you decide you are a Conservative?
You are then “One of them!”
And once you are one of them you might as well be dead.
I encourage anyone who hears someone revel or enjoy the death of Mr.Kirk to speak out.
Send them to charlies videos. Not the edited clips but the full videos.
Encourage them to actually take the time and learn for themselves what he actually said.
If they can not do such a small thing then they are just full of hate. They have no real logical arguments for their philosophies.
Back up to my point about the outside CCP and other Communist influences taking their opportunity to get inside the American government system and subverting America:

Robert observed: “They have reached the point that they wish death on anyone who disagrees with them.”
I would submit that, stated or not, the wish for death unto others is an Initial Condition for Progressivism. The Left has an obsession with Death: it permeates their platform. A philosophy so at variance with the Universe cannot expect long-term growth in a heterogenous population.
It’s sad to see so many here standing up for the hateful and divisive crap that this individual spouted. You can’t sugar-coat it no matter how hard you try.
As for the “left” and “communist” comments – you really make yourselves out to be the fools you deserve to be.
All of this is merely a diversion from The Epstein files. Don’t for a second imagine that the cheeto-benito is rubbing his whithered claws with glee over this event.
We were told there were “waterworks” tapes too.
After 9/11, we all forgot about Gary Condit too.
fred: You have now revealed that you never listened to a single word Charlie Kirk said. And if you claim you did, we all know you are lying.
fred: “Destroy the Patriarchy”.
Fred: Would you mind sharing some examples of Charlie saying hateful and divisive things? Thank you.
For the other, the outpouring of vitriol (on X at least) from people supporting the claim that Charlie deserved to die for his words is only matched by the vitriol from people howling for the blood of the first group.
People are calling for war. “The line is crossed.” and “Speaking does no good- they killed Charlie for it, who’s next?” “They are all evil. They’re not human.” posts permeate my timeline.
It remains to be seen if there’s a conspiracy at work initiating the assassination, but in any case the chaos certainly is being taken advantage of. If and when this comes to people mass killing each other in the streets, and even worse, state sponsored rounding up of certain factions and public executions (this is a distressingly common statrment atm), that’s when we, the common man, have lost it all. We should work to keep that from happening.
I received this video from a friend. It’s good enough commentary and advice, I’m posting it here:
https://youtu.be/azE7nqqQMmo?si=h9FvBIm9boxHRewZ
And for those howling for retribution and the death of our adversaries, I give Charlie’s words.
“Free speech is not just the freedom to say what you want to say, sometimes you might have to hear things you don’t want to hear.”
“What we have to get back to is being able to have a reasonable disagreement where violence is not an option.”
“When people stop talking, that’s when you get violence. That’s when civil war happens, because you start to think the other side is so evil, and they lose their humanity.”
Charlie went into the lion’s den. He talked with everybody. He was effective. His mission and faith have changed a generation. And on September 10th, millions of Charlie Kirks were born.
A content warning: the video I shared contains some vulgarities and swearing.
A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY? TO THEIR “DEMOCRACY”
Why do we find the Democrat party-oriented politicians, many in the media and a portion of their supporters in the public promoting that the more Conservative interpretation of the actual words contained in the Constitution is a threat to Democracy?
Because the more Conservative interpretation of what the Constitution actually Objectively says, intends and structures is a threat to their very Liberal and even absolutely Subjective interpretation of what the Constitution structures in THEIR opinion.
The MAGA movement is a threat to THEIR interpretation of “Democracy”.
D. Caller: “California Rep. Dave Min has not deleted a social media post claiming Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin was part of the “MAGA” movement, even as reports indicate the suspect leaned left politically. (David Kunnghee Min (born March 5, 1976) is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the U.S. representative from California’s 47th congressional district since 2025. A member of the Democratic Party)
Dave Min: “Now that the Charlie Kirk assassin has been identified as MAGA, I’m sure Donald Trump, Elon Musk and all the insane GOP politicians who called for retribution against the ‘RADICAL LEFT’ will now shift their focus to stopping the toxic violence of the RADICAL RIGHT,” Min wrote on X, Sept. 13.”
I do not believe that for one second Charlie Kirks assassin was a MAGA follower.
Why was Charlie Kirk killed? Charlie Kirk was essentially killed because he, whether you agreed with him or not very effectively articulated and argued his point of view. Thats it.
Charlie Kirk was killed because he was articulate and had a clear understanding about what he believed, and he had a direction. Should anyone be killed because they can articulate what they believe and effectively argue their point of view?
Can YOU effectively articulate and communicate what you believe?
There is clearly now a younger component of the American culture white, black and brown who have been indoctrinated through their own narrowly informed conclusions or other individuals or organizations manipulations that they are victims. And their Subjective, “Righteous” and “Moralistic” perspective must prevail at all costs.
And I think we now can clearly see that many of this segment of Americas younger people, certainly not all of them, are unable to clearly articulate what they believe and why and have a narrow perspective and some mental imbalance because of it. And they must strike out in violence when they feel they are impotent in the face of actual competence in arguing a point of view. And again, you did not have to agree with Charlie Kirk, believe whatever you choose to believe AS AN INDIVIDUAL.
Live and let live within reason, whether you are younger or an adult. But you must come to understand when you are being unreasonable. And if you are unable to accomplish that realization on your own then you may have a mental illness, and then it becomes the responsibility of others to assist you either through medical or legal intervention. Sometimes petulant children (and adults) need a time out.
There must be reasonable articulatable parameters that a society exists within and when those parameters are breached by some there must be consequences so as not to allow a minority of the misguided and possibly manipulated to destroy the system for all.
CONSEQUENCES: COMMENSURATE WITH CHOICES MADE

Apple news is reporting that the shooters roommate is also his lover who is “transitioning” and wants to be a professional gamer. This explains what was written on the bullets, and the activist mentality of hate. So sad.
The trans was quick to distance himself from the shooter handing over everything and turning in his roommate.
Trent Castanaveras: Well stated. And this needed saying. My essays so far have been to underline the ugliness coming from the left, in order to make it clear to the world how evil they are.
What I have not yet done (but you have) is discuss what we do next. Above all, we must not become the monsters we hate. More to come this week.
“My essays so far have been to underline the ugliness coming from the left, in order to make it clear to the world how evil they are.”
You might consider being a bit more specific in how you characterize “The Left” and the Democrat party.
By not being more specific you are lending credibility to the narrow minded who would conclude that the MAGA or more Conservative among the population in America consider that ALL Democrats are “Baby Killers”.
Please don’t feed the narrow minded.
It is a segment of the Democrat party that has taken over the direction and narrative that the Democrat party machine pushes.
The mass of the Democrat voters in America are not “Baby Killers” and it is them who must either take back their political party or leave it for greener more rational less violent pastures.
It is only the everyday American Democrat that can accomplish what must be accomplished within the Democrat party.
But the Democrat party machine is strong with these young radicals who now are inhabiting some of the higher political and administration positions in America and pander to the narrowly educated.
Encouragingly the Democrat party machine has been greatly wounded and weakened by the D.O.G.E activities that has hopefully cut off their back door party radical life blood funding.
Starve them of their funding and deny them their violent, radical, anti-American, “Democrat Socialist / Globalist, “progressive” rhetoric.
Cotour: Hey, those who call themselves leftists or Democrats have a choice. They can whine or lie or complain that someone is describing their present movement and party accurately (proving the point), or they can come out and condemn those on their side who are acting so egregiously.
So far, I have not see much condemnation from party stalwarts, so I therefore have little sympathy for those who whine or lie or complain.
There are good signs of course. I’ve seen numerous videos of people who until this moment had been loyal Democrats and who have now switched parties without apologies. The partisans are still as vicious and as ugly, but they also seem incapable of realizing how this is turning decent people off, across the board.
By god Cotour, while I would love to debate you point for point, my life is too short to warrant plowing through your long form essays to pick out any relevant points you may have.
A word from an outsider looking in. It seems that the hurricane of events and politics right now in the US and world wide are pushing things to breaking point… Fires are burning over there… Very much this side of the pond also… Hate is rampant, discussion is almost impossible…. If we have one duty, it is to teach the younger generation to differentiate between bullcrap and truth.. whatever side of the political spectrum you sit, truth is truth and bullcrap is bullcrap. We may interpret it in different ways, but it is so very important that we are interpreting truth and not lies.
And I will state once more… You are all going full on confirmation bias…
You read/watch the outliers from the left that your right wing media picks to point out. These media outlets are complicent in spreading hate.
The moderate democrats don’t make the news, for obvious reasons… They are moderate and don’t shoot anyone.
Joe blogs who would like more gun control and a better health service, working at Walmart in Idaho will never tell anyone he voted democrat…. And you will never hear that he did. He would be too scared to tell.
The situation is not getting better over there… It would behove everyone to consider what kind of democracy do you want/need? Any violence is terrible for whatever reason, but violence that closes down Democracy is especially terrible, because it affects a whole society …
As I’ve said in several posts here in the last couple of days… Now is not the the time for rabid hate, now is the time for clear eyes and minds. Now is the time to reach out to those on the other side that share the horror of murder, now is not the time to light torches and raise pitchforks… Now is the time to reach out a hand to those that have different opinions, but also believe in democracy.
Please, please consider
It is worth seriously considering
* Just please, make more of a distinction, don’t feed the “All Democrats Are Baby Killer” meme, just serves to confuse the masses.
* “By god Cotour, while I would love to debate you point for point, my life is too short to warrant plowing through your long form essays to pick out any relevant points you may have.”
Now that is a very entertaining and self-serving ego massaging statement.
So funny: “I would love to debate you point for point, my life is too short.”
That is a typical Liberal / Socialist, whatever you call yourself dodge.
Kind of like all of the half-educated narrow minded young Democrat Socialists that I personally know and see in the news today.
Big hat, no cattle.

And a quick question Bob….
Do you consider the only option for a left thinking person is to leave the democratic party and join the republicans if they don’t like the direction things are going?
In a democracy you instigate change yourselves… Change the party from the inside.. a sudden swing from democrats to republican indicates to me a kinda undesirable “swing” mindset… I would be very unhappy with your democratic party over there… That doesn’t mean for a second I would be signing up republican
I think this says about all that is needed to be said about today’s already politically empowered and embedded Democrat party machine politician:
“Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen has said “spineless” Democrats must throw their support behind the communist New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.”
Only the mass of everyday American Democrats can reject the Democrat party machine and stop them. Why? Because they are supporting and suborning COMMUNISM. They are the true enemy within.
Stay tuned for the New York City mayoral results.
Correction:
This is apparently what Senator Van Holland said “Yet, many Democratic members of the Senate and the House representing New York have stayed on the sidelines,” Van Hollen said. “That kind of spineless politics is what people are sick of. They need to get behind him and get behind him now.”
He apparently did not include the fact that Mamdani is an indoctrinated and by his own words a Communist in his speech, but he knows it.
Plenty to choose from in America:
“As of January 2025, there were at least 55 distinct ballot-qualified political parties in the United States. “
Lee S re “It seems that the hurricane of events and politics right now in the US and world wide are pushing things to breaking point…”
When the reports of engravings on the shell casings first emerged, I immediately made the leap in my mind to conspiracy, some bad actor creating an event specifically to achieve the resulting chaos we’re seeing. The details of the assassination didn’t seem to fit the pattern of the last few events of this type.
Although more current reports now thankfully indicate that to be a low probability, we would be fools to believe this event isn’t being used as an opportunity. It’s 9/11 all over again – unreasoning, emotion driven people are easily manipulated into agreeing with and signing on for things that will ultimately, if not immediately, hurt them.
X is a brutal battleground of ideas in the best of times, and this week it has been lit with nuclear hot fire. Despite that, I’ve had the best conversations ever with people of all spectrums the last couple of days. As you say, there are many many moderate left and right leaning people that don’t like where things are headed, and they want to talk about it. This gives me hope.
Speaking of, Sweden is fairly high on my bucket list to visit, after watching hours of Kalle Flodin on YT, and also being generally interested in Scandinavian culture. If and when I make it over, I’d love to take your offer (posted on a different thread) to look you up and butt heads over a beer. And, you know… see how the other side of the pond lives. :)
Lee S.
I hate to use the example.
But how long would the NAZI party have held power if the general people of Germany stopped supporting them?
How long would the radical left last if the Democrat party stopped giving them support and thus cover for their actions?
The radical left is openly attempting to take over the whole of the Democrat party.
Unless the “normal” democrats actively work to remove them from the party they will be taken over. Just look up their latest mistake in David Hogg. They tried to gain the male youth vote by appointing him and he immediately tried to remove those democrats he did not agree with. The party quickly and quietly removed him from his leadership role but he is still out raising money and campaigning to remove his enemies.
I never heard of Charlie Kirk before he was killed. I looked at three short videos this morning and didn’t see anything to get violent over. I would likely disagree with some of his points if that option were still available. I do find the rhetoric here and other places to be counterproductive. To an outside observer, Cotour make the points of Lee S quite clear. The attitude of “If you’re not with us, you’re against us is guaranteed to alienate far more people than it converts.
My politics would be described as middle/right by most. Mostly Libertarian. On this blog, I suppose I am a leftist.
“My politics would be described as middle/right by most. Mostly Libertarian. On this blog, I suppose I am a leftist.”
That generally is how I would describe myself, so you are no Leftist, not by a long shot.
Libertarian being a Subjective personal philosophy of live and let live. Not Libertarian as a political party philosophy. Then you would be a suicidal anything goes Leftist essentially for all intents and purposes.
Just be reasonable, Objective and rational. Understand what the Constitution attempts to structure.
Amy Coney Barrett (that Bill Maher called a “snake handler” in one of his worse moments–is probably a tad leftwards. Penn Jillett would be to the Right of her economically, but to the Left socially. Many social conservatives are by no means libertarian… that’s the big schism.
Many libertarians look down their noses at believers—though they used to hand out those little political test cards like Jack Chick tracts.
Religious conservatives often feel used. They voted for Dubya over Gore–who likely prefers the Unabomber Manifesto to the Constitution.
But all Dubya did was bail out banks after killing and crippling soldiers in a needless war. Yet Roe V. Wade was still on the books.
And Jeb and Bloomberg learned the hard way (like Romney did) that rank and file voters were fed up with such country club morons.
Thus Justice Barrett disappointed some of the moneychangers of that party. The DNC is even more fractious. A good start would be for them to also appeal to populism. While the GOP has two wings who don’t always get along–the DNC can always be counted on to give in not just to oddballs –but Greens. Tomorrow’s Dems need to not only condemn the current violence, but to get rid of folks who want to tell Americans what kind of car they can or cannot buys. On social issues they might get some social libertarian support–but not with PETA, which is their Operation Rescue I suppose.
Were I running for President on that ticket–I would go on my own Obama apology tour–ask forgiveness for mask mandates, and other busybodies–and how it is best for Americans to leave each other alone…in that I would be running as the anti-Henry Waxman.
‘All Democrats.. are not baby killers”.
First you show your age with that Vietnam-era phrase.
No, they are not raiding villages and killing babies ( which the NVA did far more than US Troops, BTW, for any village that dared to allow the US military to enter and render aid)
But that is okay, because the phrase ‘baby-killers’ still applies here.
One of the planks in the Democrat party platform is abortion. Since the SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) Dobbs decision, the issue of abortion was returned to the states. Since you live in the EU, I will translate. Federal Law no longer applies in non-federal jurisdiction. Local State laws are now the governing factor.
-Why does this matter?
Many states still had restrictive rules on the books, that were suspended in the 1970s. They now apply again. Others have laws that they have since enacted, adding restrictions.
-Who is opposed to this?
Democrats. They demand the right to kill the child for any time within the 40 week gestational period. No restrictions. Period. It can be 5 minutes before birth starts. They say that is okay.
-What does this require?
Complete and total dehumanization of a developing human child.
They argue that a children under the age of 18 should be allowed to undergo “transition”, take hormones and have SRS (sexual reassignment surgery).
Why does this matter?
Before Trump was elected, local hospitals had free range to rubber stamp sexual dysphoria, pump kids with life changing medications and then mutilate them.
Who supports this?
Democrats. They demand that this be allowed unhindered, at all levels, regardless of age.
-What does this mean?
This means starting hormones and having surgical amputations of perfectly healthy body parts, followed by cosmetic surgery that allows the child to mimic the physical appearance opposite sex. The result is a sterilized child that will never be able to reproduce. If done too young, the sterilized child that will never be able to experience sexual pleasure/fulfillment. This is de-sexing (neutering) a child and then filling them full of hormones to pretend they are something they are not, and never can be.
-What does this require?
Dehumanization of a human child in favor of ignoring the complex and difficult mental illness (and delusional behavior) that is presented. It requires feeding delusional behavior and expressions in favor of the hard work to help the person attain and live a meaningful life.
Baby-killers? You bet they are! And be careful if you disagree.
They will try to cancel you.
They will shout you down.
They will raise a mass of protesters against you.
And based on this weeks events, if you persist, they will shoot you.
———————————
I have stayed off these conversations, because of my anger.
I have seen people killed or wounded in combat zones due to a fight or as collateral damage, and the same in crime scenes.
I can process these.
Wednesday, I had been offline, and opened my phone and the first thing I saw was a murder.
A man that was sitting, talking, and threatening no one.
Despite the reporting, my experience told me that he was dead the moment he was struck.
I have not been that shaken in a very long time. I still am.
Maybe I am getting old.
But I am also deeply angry. I am going to church and talking with others to manage this.
No worries, I am not the rampaging type.
It is absolutely clear in my head.
They are labeling us fascist, and (insert)-phobic and all the other catch phrases, not to silence and not debate.
And since that did not work, they are using it as an excuse to commit murder and celebrate the same.
An excuse. A rationalization. A ‘casus belli’.
This is not over. Just as there are copy-cat mass shootings, there will be copy-cats of this event.
———-
And yes, all Democrats, Lee.
Biden used these words.
Harris used these words.
Almost every member of Congress with a “D” after their title, used these words.
And so on down the line.
These words dehumanize the political opposition.
These words tell their followers that it is okay to murder.
And to then celebrate it.
The radical left took over the universities.
As administrators they set the classes you had to take and pass..
As professors they set and made the course and tests you had to pass.
They took over your children’s schools the very same way.
Why, to indoctrinate them. It makes it easier to “teach” them at the university.
How do you turn them against their own parents. get to them at their schools.
How do they stay there doing their little indoctrination jobs. Teachers unions protect them till death.
The extreme left admits they want to teach your children the “correct” way. Their way. Their philosophy.
They have worked hard to indoctrinate your children from you.
Its time we removed them from their unholy work. Even if you do not have children in their system help those who do.
Work to get your state to accept a voucher system where the money follows the child so you can pick the school the child goes to.
It works great here in Ohio. state schools are closing as fast as the students can find any other school to go to. And their test scores are rising even faster.

Lee S,
You wrote: “If it is true that all democrats are evil baby killers with only hate in their hearts then it’s time for the whole of the US to turn the mirror on itself and ask a few questions how half of your population ended up that way?”
We know how we ended up this way, and I have explained it to you, but you do not pay attention. You have said that we all should listen to several sources and then come to our conclusions, but after you have listened to us, you have not taken our information into consideration. You have dismissed it because it fails to fit your view of the world.
But then, we have long said that you would not change your mind. How predictable you are. Look in the mirror? We have, but you won’t even look through the window at the reality that we keep presenting to you, even though you call yourself “an outsider looking in.” Why? Well, you told Cotour that you are too lazy to follow your own guidelines of viewing the other side. You are too lazy to pay attention to the other side’s opinions, viewpoints, conclusions, and reasoning for those conclusions. But go on ahead and comment here with your faux authority on these subjects, because you feel that you don’t need to see the other side of the the arguments or news reports.
And you still feel that disagreement is hatred. How can you argue your own points when you obviously hate the people who argue with you. You say you don’t, you try to make us think that we are the haters, but you are clearly projecting your own hate onto others, otherwise you would not feel the need to spontaneously say that you are not a hater.
You say that there are fires burning over here, but I don’t think that candles for the dead count. (Thank you, James Street, for the video.)
“Hate is rampant, discussion is almost impossible….”
We are having a reasonable discussion, so why do you think it is almost impossible? We don’t have hate coming from the right, even though one of our beloved leaders was just assassinated. We on the right know how to handle our emotions, you on the left have great difficulty, and then you project your emotions onto us. Instead of violence and burning cities, we have candlelight vigils.
The confirmation bias is going on in your own head. We do not have a right-wing media, in America, so they are not confirming any of our biases. Your crap always float to the top. Robert has given you evidence that the vast majority of Democratic leaning folks do have murderous intent — outside of the abortion issue — but you deny it because it does not fit into your own biases. Lee, we see right through you. It is why so many are able to respond to your floaters.
In America, the leftists are the ones with the loudest and most violent voices. When someone they don’t know or care about dies of an overdose a few minutes after he is in police custody, the left spends a summer in violent protest all over the country. They do all that violence because they hate. They don’t care about the excuse, it is the hateful riot that matters in their minds. The hate in the Democrats’ hearts is spoken by them all the time, especially about Trump and Musk, but the rightists hardly ever say that they hate anyone.
You may say that you advocate against fighting hate with hate, but you are the one who thinks that the ones with the guns will win. So, if the leftists take away the guns from the good guys, according to you, the unlawful Democrats will win, because they will be the ones with the guns.
You wrote: “The moderate democrats don’t make the news, for obvious reasons…”
The moderate lefties are always in the news. They use the news as their own newsletter. Right after a radical leftist has shot someone, the moderate lefties demand that we disarm the law abiding so that the evil ones will be the only ones with the guns. The moderates are always in the news advocating a lot of other leftist ideologies, too. That is why we righties are so familiar with them — we cannot get away from them.
You wrote: “As I’ve said in several posts here in the last couple of days… Now is not the the time for rabid hate, now is the time for clear eyes and minds. Now is the time to reach out to those on the other side that share the horror of murder, now is not the time to light torches and raise pitchforks… Now is the time to reach out a hand to those that have different opinions, but also believe in democracy.”
Except that you are the one expressing any kind of hatred by accusing us of being the haters. Other leftists who have commented here, even in this same thread, have expressed hatred. Yet you refuse to acknowledge the reality that is in even this one posting and its comments. We are the ones who have considered your thoughts. We are the ones reaching out to the other side, but you have rejected everything that we have said. You are a poor example of your own words. You disagree with us, and because you interpret that as hatred, you feel the need to claim you do not hate. We disagree with you, and because you interpret that as hatred, you make claims that we hate.
And then you tell Cotour that you won’t even spend the time reading and thinking about what we have to say. Some reaching out, on your part.
Robert, I’ve posted this here before, but here is some food for thought regarding where we go next – in my view, where we HAVE to go next – written just after the first attempt on the President’s life.
https://thenayborhood.substack.com/p/cutting-to-the-chase
(And Lee, you might find it interesting as well, as it identifies the fundamental divide in our nation; the “problem behind the problems” that feeds into all the conflicts – and also shows the reasons why I and others challenge your socio-economic views here.)
Pzatchok writes that “the radical left is openly attempting to take over the whole of the Democrat party.”
At the moment it appears that they already have, with New York’s Governor Hochul endorsing a Muslim Fidel Castro for the top slot in NYC. https://www.aol.com/news/york-gov-kathy-hochul-endorses-234129187.html
The Democrats, apparently, think that Mr. Mamdami is the New JFK for the New (Socialist) Age, and they will now be putting all their resources behind him. And, as the likely victor in the upcoming mayoral contest — New Yorkers LOVE that Socialist Kool-Aid; visualize the I-heart bumper sticker — he will have a powerful platform from which to preach communist revolution in America.
Jester Naybor’s essay on the real divide in American life is entirely on point — thank you for reposting it — and it comports with some similar remarks by James Howard Kunstler this morning. https://www.kunstler.com/p/dressed-to-kill
As Jim observes:
“The band-aid for that failure [to advance the cause of most black Americans] was multiculturalism. By the 1980s, the consensus about reality was fracturing, especially about standards of behavior. Too many ‘people of color’ were ‘justice involved’ — they committed crimes. It was an embarrassment to ‘progressives’ (liberal Democrats). Multiculturalism’s premise was that a society could have different standards of behavior and different values for different groups. Henceforth, there was no need for a broad agreement about what sort of behavior was okay and what was not okay — no need for a common culture that applied to everyone.”
Job One for the radical Democrats has been to *utterly destroy* every vestige of America’s common, reality-based “can do” culture, and as Jester Nabor suggests, to substitute a top-down, one size fits all authoritarian nightmare in its place:
“THE PROBLEM BEHIND THE PROBLEMS is that we have learned to short-sell ourselves – in particular, our ability to discern the facts-on-the-ground around us, to leverage the insights of our own experience and common sense with knowledge outside ourselves to attain a thorough understanding of the problems we face … and take the initiative to implement solutions, for ourselves and/or our neighbors that do not cause more problems than they solve.
Instead we look to those that we have come to believe Know Better to set the answers before us, and worse yet, ‘outsource’ our authority to make binding decisions to them … even at the expense of maintaining our ability to protect ourselves and/or efficiently work around decisions that end up in failure.
And do so, when those we are putting such trust in are operating from a position of inadequate knowledge of what we as individuals may or may not need – no matter any good intentions they may (or may not) have.”
Freedom versus slavery (with free stuff), and two very different visions of how societies should work and how human beings ought to live. Take your pick.

Enjoyed your essay.
Making media responsible, judges and terror groups liable and elective officials responsive are key components to tackling this problem here and in Europe.
Wow…. That is an awful lot to take in…. I promise to try… It’s hard to parse and respond to such a lot of opinions, especially when written in such long form. I apologize, my ADHD / Autism makes it difficult to focus on such an outpouring.
The comment that jumped out at me was “How can you argue your own points when you obviously hate the people who argue with you.”….. I find this to be both insulting and just plain wrong. There are very, very few people I hate, and I can assure you non of them are to be found here!
I find it challenging to have a serious debate in this format… I make a point, then next time I check in I have 20 points to discuss… I can’t do it. Face to face I could prove that it is quite possible to be a leftist, socialist even, and be reasonable… On this forum, I would hope that after all these years my moderate kind of socialism would have become self evident. I have never once advocated violence, and always made my advocacy for free speech known. Not all of us on the left are evil.
( The whole “8 month abortion” nonsense is just that by the way…. Unless the unborn is clinically dead there is no way this would ever happen. Check your facts before posting bull you have picked up from obviously false sources… I am pro choice, and will no doubt get crap for this… But I am a lefty after all. )
Long ago a talk show person – Jim Quinn – in the Pittsburgh market put forth this analysis:
To control a country and society you need to control four things: Politics, Law, Media and Academia
To remember this I rearranged this into P A L M – you hold the country/society in the palm of your hand if you control these four.
Politics – This is the most direct control. With Politics you can control the direction of government, the funding of programs and the formation of laws …etc.
Academia – Controlling this is the long term plan. Indoctrinate the young, feed them with the promise of “equality and justice” and watch them grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
Law – We see this on a regular basis from the Left; if you lose the election, or the “wrong” policy is enacted don’t accept this result – file suit, multiple suits. You can end, block or delay the actions of … anybody.
Media – Here you determine what is perceived or even known at all.
Recent events have shown that as the MAGA movement works to finally break the ever tightening grip that the Left has on any of these aspects on the control of society, the result is first, howls of fascism, NAZI and so on, then, if these don’t work, there are calls for violence, and now outright murder.
@Trent Castanaveras
Drop me a line should you fancy a Stockholm break…. I will look after you and yours… And show you the real Scandinavia!!
( The same offer goes out to any of the posters here… Even those that believe I hate them! )
First come, first served!
loonyman99@gmail.com
I am a lot more focused face to face… As I said previously, I struggle a little in this format.. over a beer looking out on the beautiful waters of Stockholm… Bring it on!
And for all the negative comments I am receiving, all I can say is please read my previous comments … I just want to remind everyone that not all on the left are evil, that I absolutely condemn the use of violence for any reason, and stand for freedom of speech, and the right for free and open discussion without fear of harm. If these are not opinions we can all get behind, I don’t know what are.
I do not for one second believe that you, LeeS, are a hateful person.
Not for one second.
By reading what you have posted here over time I believe you are truly a caring person and a good father, 100%.
Unless you are one hell of a troller like has never been seen before, and I doubt that.
I believe you fully believe what you promote that you believe.
That perspective however is a bit narrow and idealistic as are most Liberals and their perspectives start out.
Unfortunately, that idealism over time must turn into authoritarian rule and force. No way around it there exists nothing in the system that you exist (The EU) to stop it.
And your inability to step back and see that very real and omnipresent potential immersed within your narrow perspective comes through in your communications.
Do I think you are hateful? No, I believe you have the best intentions, and we all or should all understand and know where that can and in time will deliver us all.
@Cotour, thank you for the kind words… Few and far between in these parts!
I do actually understand the danger from our more socialist society over here… But also see the danger from your 2 party system over there… The wheels seem to be falling off everywhere!
Fortunately we have this system known as democracy.. We must have faith that the truth will out and the people will cast their ballots for the best… ( I know that didn’t end well in 1930’s Germany… But let’s hope we have learned a little since then! )
We live in a new world now, social media broadcasts within seconds, and the youngsters are more plugged in than we ever were at their age. My son told me about the murder of Charlie Kirk before I had even heard of him. ( My son is further right than I am… His choice, and it makes for good discussion, we disagree, but are still best friends)
Unfortunately, we are rapidly becoming irrelevant… In a couple of decades we will be gone… It’s down to us to teach critical thinking skills to the youth, and instill the importance of using their vote for the best for everyone. Time stands still for no one!
“Fortunately we have this system known as democracy.. We must have faith that the truth will out and the people will cast their ballots for the best… ( I know that didn’t end well in 1930’s Germany… But let’s hope we have learned a little since then! )”
And who empowered Hitler with their votes? The young idealistic people in Germany.
BIG picture? This is what is going on:
https://www.sigma3ioc.com/post/an-open-society-invites-communist-infiltration
BIG picture this is all about subversion and world dominance and if America becomes usurped by the Globalist / Socialist / “progressive” / CCP model?
Then you will be correct, irrelevance in individual freedom will be a thing of the past and the AI algorithm and whomever builds and controls it will rule the planet earth.
And that point is probably closer than anyone in the Pedestrian Realm thinks.
Lee S
Your falling for the lie that the US is a two party system.
We have over 50 different registered political parties in the US.
Granted only three or four have a chance of running a national candidate. But we are not only 2.
As for the abortion points.
New Jersey allows abortion on viable babies up until the day before a normal birth could occur. They even allow non physicians to do early abortions.
The democrat party in the US wants the same for the whole of the nation.
They make no distinction between viable and non viable.
https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/new-jersey/2021/10/13/nj-expands-abortion-access-roe-v-wade/8440203002/
To the left an abortion is the blood sacrifice of the neo feminists.
This goes well beyond religion
The assassin made the mistake of bringing a gun to a Christopher Hitchens fight.
The assassin could have used the double barrel shotgun of Penn & Teller.
Had I access to a time machine, I would suggest to Charlie that maybe we could bring back James Randi and Charles Krauthammer, and sit this one out.
Perhaps more dangerous than the bullet that felled Charlie is the forthcoming book on the history of atheism called THE DOWNFALL OF GOD, by S. T. Joshi.
But here is where it really gets creepy.
The mob that bayed for Kirk’s blood?
They hate Joshi too–he dared defend HPL’ s contribution to the Weird Tale.
They hated Hitchens and Krauthammer alike.
They hated skeptic magicians P&T and Randi over debunking New Age crystal nonsense.
That is the level of nuttery we are facing.
Lee, you accuse me a ‘bull’, perhaps because you cannot accept the problem on your side of the isle.
But almost 60% of Democrats support unrestricted abortion, which includes late term abortion, and minors getting abortions without parental consent.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1079467/abortion-support-party-level-legalization-us/
I do not know, nor do I care, where others on this site stand on the issue. But support of abortion in general is dehumanizing. The far left (more radical than the Democrats) not only embrace abortion, but celebrate it.
It is only a small step from dehumanizing act to justifying the murder of a man you disagree with politically. Label him a few bad things and it is easy. And that is what the far left is doing, right now, as we type. Rationalizing and justifying murder. They are posting names.of other people they want to see murdered, including his widow.
This is what the American left has wrought.
Jay Leno was on the Tim Conway Jr. program recently in condemning the attack, as per Red State, which also had a link to Florida Man Paul Renner who may only pay lip service in regards to Constitutional rights–he a candidate for Governor.
Random internet comment I thought I was very cogent.
“They killed the last guy willing to talk to them. They killed the negotiator.”
There will be no negotiating, there will be no mitigating, there will be no middle ground.
One side MUST prevail.
And the biggest unknown at this particular time in human history regarding such things that were settled in time in accepted regular ways?
High technology, social media and AI.
These are the unknown unknowns at this particular time in human history.
50 and 60 years of slow and steady Leftist anti American, anti-Western culture and society indoctrination with the addition of this level of technology and communication is paradigm and civilization shifting territory.
IMO anyway.
Anyone in a chat room that knew (?) about the plot to take out CK will have to be arrested and prosecuted (?).
This evidence and motivation string I think will be long and complex when followed.
BOOM! To my point:
“Earlier, the FBI boss had told Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) that “a lot more” than 20 people were on the Discord channel
“I see the public reports that the Discord thread had as many as 20 additional users,” Hawley pressed.
“It’s a lot more than that,” Patel answered. “We’re running them all down.”
https://nypost.com/2025/09/15/us-news/trump-live-updates-news-sept-15-16/
The only way to possibly establish a conversation and change the minds of some of the young is that they see actual evidence and real consequences for actions or in actions taken regarding the blatant cold-blooded murder of Charlie Kirk.
Ok folks, I stand corrected on late term abortion over there in the US… I made the mistake of thinking in terms of Swedish law…
Quote “In Sweden, abortion is permitted on request until the 18th week of pregnancy. After the 18th week, a late-term abortion is only possible with permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare’s Legal Council (Socialstyrelsen). This permission is granted only for exceptional reasons, such as severe fetal abnormalities or serious risks to the woman’s life or health. Abortions are generally not allowed after the 22nd week because the fetus is usually considered viable. ”
It is no wonder the issue is so controversial over there. 3rd trimester abortion should not be allowed except under exceptional circumstances . I certainly don’t believe abortion should be blanket banned, but restrictions need to be in place…
I am actually stunned,…. Consider my words eaten.
The internet has made this nation( this world) far more divisive then anyone could have ever thought.
Many thought that the free expression and free access to all sides and opinions would be a good thing. And it is. But.
Along came the curated videos and web sites. A small program (algorithm) hunts down the subjects your like or most click on and view.
Now without even thinking about it your daily internet experience is selected for you automatically. Your only shown what you like, what you agree with and now your whole world is basically a fishbowl of agreement. You never see the other side unless you actively look for it.
And how many people on the left even want to see and learn about the other side?
I am 60. I have heard all the arguments.
The left is all about “feels” (female)and the right tries to be more logical(male).
@pzatchok…. I have been saying this forever.. ( not the left female/right male nonsense) , but pushing the idea that it is important to not use only one news source , but take in the spectrum. It is very possible for several news sources to have a factually correct report with vastly different spins. ( I have been roundly chastised here for reading Al Jazeera, along with left, centrist and right wing news sources). The greatest thing we can teach the younger generation is to take in ALL the viewpoints and then make a balanced judgement.
No offence intended, but this blog is a perfect example of preaching to the choir…. 90+% of the posters here are older right wing men. I like to stick my nose in to point out that it is possible to be an intelligent, reasonable, older lefty. I generally end up having a lecture explaining to me how and why I am wrong. Usually by older right wing man who have never experienced anything other than the good ‘ol US of A, to adjust your quote….
“And how many people on the right even want to see and learn about the other side?”
I understand when I post I am singing to the wrong choir… And I ALWAYS get accused of being unable/unwilling to take on any of what has been spoken at me…. Which is a shame, because ( to round back to the subject of this thread ), it closes down conversation.
As I stated earlier, I literally cannot hold focus long enough to plow thru and answer every point in a paragraphs long post… Hit me with concise questions/points and I’m all in for a discussion. In the meantime, check out a few other news sources, diversify where you get your information, and have a peaceful evening.
Pablum, self-serving pablum: “trite, naive, or simplistic ideas or writings; intellectual pap.”
“And how many people on the right even want to see and learn about the other side?”
We can all very clearly see what the extreme segment of the Leftists, Liberals, “progressives”, Globalists are and what they intend. We can clearly see them. What DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND!?
Let’s look at some of the news perspectives regarding the Charlie Kirk political assassination:
American MSM Leftist media: “We don’t know if this was a gun shot off by a supporter in celebration”: https://youtu.be/aZdFUO8yNng?si=6Excc1njAh0yUl7c
The takeaway? The Charlie Kirk assassination was a justifiable assassination, there words sanctioned and supported it.
BBC commentary on Charlie Kirk: https://youtube.com/shorts/tMG20lyUGpg?si=p56IX-Czk2J-lhrw
Charlie Kirk, who was a Conservative Christian person was assassinated because he was well thought out, well-spoken and he competently communicated HIS PERSPECTIVE.
Can you explain their perspective? Other than their essentially sanctioning the killing, the murder that is. Charlie Kirk was a Christian and he represented an existential threat to the Lefts soulless, dark “Destroy the white Patriarchy” authoritarian agenda.
Their perspective is clear and well understood.
There is no confusion, no misunderstanding.
Lee S,
Instead of answering, you paraphrased a new question: “‘And how many people on the right even want to see and learn about the other side?’” Here is an answer for you: It does not matter what we want to see and learn about the other side. We are immersed within it and cannot avoid seeing, hearing, and reading their discussions and opinions. We learn more and more about them every day. They are unavoidable.
However, they do not seek out information about the right, because they are taught to avoid personal research. You, Lee, are one of the few who is willing to interact rather than avoid. Thank you for that. You seem to have been raised right, at least.
“I understand when I post I am singing to the wrong choir…”
It isn’t the wrong choir, but you aren’t singing anything new. You rarely present any new information that we have not yet seen, considered, critically thought about, and formed a judgement upon. This is the result of we, here at BTB, being immersed in a leftist-controlled society and culture.
“And I ALWAYS get accused of being unable/unwilling to take on any of what has been spoken at me….”
You have proved this point over and over again. Coming to the realization that you were wrong about American abortion law does not count. It is your overall opinion that does not change. Even about abortion it did not change. The worst part is that you still think you know more about us than you do, despite all the words we have written that go against what you have said about us.
You have done a poor job of proving you are able or willing to take on any of what we have said to you (your thinking that we speak at you rather then to you suggests that you are not listening, proving our point). You recently told us that you do not spend time responding to what has been spoken to you, so we have no inkling of why you have come to your own conclusions, why you have judged we are wrong, or even that you have considered our viewpoint. We respond to you, giving the rest of us the knowledge of why we individually have come to our own conclusions.
“Which is a shame, because ( to round back to the subject of this thread ), it closes down conversation.”
I don’t know about that. So far the conversation has not been closed down. It has gone on for four days and seventy comments. Seventy-one, now. And that does not count the several other threads on this and similar topics.
By the way, how many Charlie Kirk videos have you watched, Lee (order of magnitude is OK)? I haven’t counted, either, but my number is in the hundreds.
This is a humorous although serious way to encapsulate the mentality of those on the “progressive” Left that seek political power in the country and the world. Similar or sympathetic kinds of people will be voting for a Communist to run New York City in November.

“I like to stick my nose in to point out that it is possible to be an intelligent, reasonable, older lefty. “.
You may be older but you have not learned anything other than what serves you, and that is fine. But the larger bigger picture implications are dire!
Lee we invite you to consider our observations, our opinions and our beliefs. We hold out facts that we see holding these beliefs to be true and we invite you to join us.
Proving your “side” wrong is not the end.
Inviting you to join us to see things generally as we do is the end.
We – the “right” still have our axes to grind, but in the end we want general harmony – not the victors and the vanquished. The only ones we want to be stopped are those who would do violence.

I’m one of those older white guys who happens to be a conservative, libertarian, republican. (and generally, in that order)

“Although older generations are traditionally considered more conservative, scientists at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) have proved that this is not always the case. One surprising outcome of their study was that, over the last decade, the young generation of Lithuanians has grown to value safety, stability, and tradition more than risk-taking or openness to change.”
The sliming of folks like Kirk continues.
Strike at Kirk from the shadows—so brave (slow clap).
