A bit of early MTV history.
The recent talk about the broadcast of Joel’s 100th Madison Sq Garden concert put it in my head to look up that old video that I hadn’t seen in so many decades.
One of the first videos that wasn’t just a band playing or pretty girls in/on cars.
And a good song too – I read Joel considered it one of the top five songs of his.
BTW, while I enjoy watching a great performer at work, I’d rather hear a recording of a singer from during the peak of their career. If someone offered me free tickets to a Simon and Garfunkel concert… I’d pass. I’d rather listen to their albums. And generally live concert recordings aren’t as enjoyable as the original album recordings. Concerts are special when you’re in attendance.
