Because of the cost of Obamacare, employers are dropping healthcare coverage for spouses.
Finding out what’s in it: Because of the cost of Obamacare, employers are dropping healthcare coverage for spouses.
By denying coverage to spouses, employers not only save the annual premiums, but also the new fees that went into effect as part of the Affordable Care Act. This year, companies have to pay $1 or $2 “per life” covered on their plans, a sum that jumps to $65 in 2014. And health law guidelines proposed recently mandate coverage of employees’ dependent children (up to age 26), but husbands and wives are optional.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Another example of where government creates a dis incentive and penalty for the family
through policy.
Just like their “good intentions” related to welfare (both in the white and black communities)
Where the incentive the government has created is for there to NOT be a family unit if a
father is present in the home. (which is not to say that if there is a father in the home that
they should be on welfare)
The road to hell is paved with “good intentions” and in addition what they realize is that that
now dependent community segment becomes their ticket to staying in power.
This has now become their defacto agenda, a dark and sick attempt to control and maintain
power.
The liberal / socialist argues that the solution to a problem is a black or white issue, when the
actual solution is a shade of gray, and then managing that shade of gray.
You couldn’t design a law to create a bigger mess than this turkey if you tried. Wait a minute? Maybe that’s the point. Create a health care disaster so vast that the public will demand a true single-payer system, and voila, British-style national health care.
Well, that was the stated strategy of many of the Democrat activists who wrote the bill. It sounds like a conspiracy theory but you can go watch their speeches on youtube.
