Conscious Choice cover

From the press release: In this ground-breaking new history of early America, historian Robert Zimmerman not only exposes the lie behind The New York Times 1619 Project that falsely claims slavery is central to the history of the United States, he also provides profound lessons about the nature of human societies, lessons important for Americans today as well as for all future settlers on Mars and elsewhere in space.

Conscious Choice: The origins of slavery in America and why it matters today and for our future in outer space, is a riveting page-turning story that documents how slavery slowly became pervasive in the southern British colonies of North America, colonies founded by a people and culture that not only did not allow slavery but in every way were hostile to the practice.
Conscious Choice does more however. In telling the tragic history of the Virginia colony and the rise of slavery there, Zimmerman lays out the proper path for creating healthy societies in places like the Moon and Mars.

“Zimmerman’s ground-breaking history provides every future generation the basic framework for establishing new societies on other worlds. We would be wise to heed what he says.” —Robert Zubrin, founder of founder of the Mars Society.

Chicken Little update! A new COVID variant!

The announcement by a South African doctor yesterday of several “mild” cases of a new variant of COVID-19 has sent governments throughout the worldwide scrambling in utter panic. Israel has shut itself down again. Joe Biden banned all traffic from most African countries.

From the doctor’s report:

On Nov. 18, four family members all tested positive for COVID with complete exhaustion and Coetzee said she reported the findings to South Africa’s vaccine advisory committee. She said about two dozen of her patients have now tested positive for COVID with symptoms of the new variant — mostly healthy men who turned up “feeling so tired,” the Telegraph reported. About half were unvaccinated.

“We had one very interesting case, a kid, about six years old, with a temperature and a very high pulse rate, and I wondered if I should admit her,” she told the news outlet. “But when I followed up two days later, she was so much better.” Coetzee said she was worried the new variant could still hit much harder in older people with co-morbidities like diabetes or heart disease.

And of course, death-head Anthony Fauci immediately declared the U.S. should “be prepared to do anything and everything” to stop it, even though at this point it has not even entered the U.S. and once again, its effects appear “mild.”

The first four cases in Botswana were all vaccinated, so once again the vaccines are proving ineffective in stopping COVID.

Let’s get real. What all of these stories focus on is the sudden rise in cases, as if that represents bodies lying in the street. NOT. As has been the case from day one, 99% of everyone that gets COVID survives it. Period. I expect based on the mildness reported for this variant things will be no different.

COVID is a respiratory illness like the flu. It might be worse than past versions, but it still is the same. The human race cannot vaccinate itself out of this problem. From the beginning the only solution was to allow the younger healthy population get it, obtain natural immunity, and thus choke the virus out.

We did not let that happen and are paying for it now. Still, we can finally come to our senses and let this play out, protecting the vulnerable populations (the elderly, the chronically sick, etc) while letting this new probably relatively less potent variant quickly spread.

More and endless booster shots are not going to accomplish anything.

Might have a more accurate theory for you, Mr. Z:

    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2021/11/28/is-the-omicron-variant-the-midterm-election-variant-n1537085

As has been from the beginning, America’s covid response has little to do with covid itself.

  • Been seeing an increasing number of articles on ‘normalizing’, and ‘rationalizing’, COVID. Yeah, it’s past time to go there. It’s a disease, like thousands of others. People will get it; people will die. Doesn’t exactly make it stand out from anything else.

Increasingly effective treatments will evolve, as will the human immune system, and the virus. Same as it ever was.

We are very close to institutionalizing this problem. Unless you want to live in a world of “No Mask, No Service’, it’s time to get involved.

BTW, I’ve finalized design for my MOFOS (Masks Off For Open Society) stickers.

  • Andi

It’s interesting that the previous new variant was “mu” and this one is “omicron”.

    The WHO skipped two letters:

“nu” because of possible confusion with the English “new” (although maybe they should have compared with the Yiddish “nu”), and

“xi” because they didn’t want to offend a certain commie.

And this is not made up!

@Trent Castanaveras Midterm election variant, love it. Though I don’t really think it is about universal mail in ballots as people in swing districts are fighting it.

I think that the current majority just doesn’t have anything else polling well so they want to keep the message about Covid. They are behind on the economy, embarrassingly bad on immigration, forget about foreign policy, and behind on education for the first time basically ever. The only thing that they have is Covid so that’s the message.

“The first four cases in Botswana were all vaccinated, so once again the vaccines are proving ineffective in stopping COVID.”

The flu vaccine does not stop the flu necessarily, but definitely reduces the severity of the case. So it is with the Covid-19 vaccine. Personally, I am not willing to go through the more severe case to get my immunity. Anyone with underlying conditions has a greater risk of severe reactions, including death or the need for ICU care.

That being said, the WORST response the government could do was mandate the vaccine! This indicates that the government is absolutely desperate and knows it has lost the confidence of the people!

What can the government do to regain that confidence?

That is the million dollar question. Our friends see no way for this government (either in Canada or the USA) to regain confidence!

One more thing, I also have no confidence in arm chair virologists who are not board certified in either virology or pathology or even trained in the fields!

However, I fully support a person’s right to refuse medical treatment, even if it is preventative medicine!

Here is a headline from “True North”

Not quite true since I also oppose the mandates (for the general public including government workers)

  • Cotour

“More and endless booster shots are not going to accomplish anything.”

The only thing that will be accomplished by pushing the vaccine and the boosters now is you will tend to teach the virus how to defeat the vaccines. You do not have to have a PHD to figure that out. No therapeutics, no attempting to ease people successfully through becoming infected and developing natural immunity, which is superior to the vaccine.

And that is the only realistic way to get through this event. NO OTHER WAY.

Fauci and Collins ONLY push the vaccine. They do not even talk for one moment about the population developing natural immunity. No mention of taking the proper supplements to strengthen your immune system, just like Fauci himself through his released email is taking. Fauci takes 6000 IU of vitamin D every day. But he will not tell you to do the same.

Why such a narrow focus? Why no concern about peoples health and how they can improve it? Just: Take the vaccine.

And, Fauci laughs when he is asked about Rand Paul referring him for criminal investigation?

Government at best will injure you, and at its worst will enslave you and or kill you.

Shoot, their symptoms were what mine were like when I tested positive earlier at the beginning of the month, maybe I had the new variant? I was very fatigued, congested, but no sore throat, nor cough, and I could taste and smell. Very weird, figured it was burnout at work and a light cold until I had a slight fever, 99.6 for about 8hrs on a Sunday, it broke later that night and I felt a whole lot better, the next day I did an at home test and tested positive, wife was negative. I did a county health department test, although I’m kicking myself for adding to the state’s total cases, but I have a high risk pregnant wife at home that I didn’t want to spread it to. That test also showed positive. So isolated for the next 10 days, my Doc had me take a ton of vitamins and water, and was testing negative before the end of my isolation. I felt worse with past colds, I even felt worse after my 2nd Pfizer shot. So it was either the vaccine “working” my relative youthfulness and healthy lifestyle, or it was this new variant.

For additional insight into how the Covid debacle has been deliberately used by The Powers That Be to manipulate public opinion — the process of mass formation — check out

    https://ratical.org/PandemicParallaxView/EyeOfTheStorm-ProfMattiasDesmet.html

This discussion by a group of European academics really unpacks up the way in which Dr. Fauci and his cohorts have weaponized and deployed this virus to promote totalitarian thinking / culture around the world. Again, keep in mind that this is NOT ABOUT THE VIRUS — which, as noted in the post, is not that different from the common flu — but destroying democratic cultures and institutions so that they can be replaced by authoritarian regimes.

Dr. Fauci and his friends will not be happy until you and everyone else have been reduced to cowering serfs who have given up the last vestige of freedom and autonomy in the name of “security.” Worse, as Cotour suggests, the deliberate downplaying of effective treatment and supplements to support people’s immune systems has contributed to an untold number of needless illnesses and death.

How much longer will people put up with this?

  • Cotour

This is it, the new variant!

I wonder what we are doing to our long- term health and immunity vaccinating people with essentially no risk against every little virus out there. I’m not against the Covid vaccine by any means, but are we just ensuring that the next “pandemic” will be worse? If our bodies don’t get used to fighting off real viruses what does this do to our natural ability to fight these things off? I don’t know. At least I KNOW that I don’t know. These idiots seem like they are trying everything they can to completely get rid of Covid. It reminds me of when a “smart” person brings in a species to help control some other sort of invasive species and the effects turn out to be worse than the initial invasive species. Mother nature is cruel and unforgiving. The people that think they can outsmart her are laughable at best and evil at worst.

  • Andi

Yes, how does that line go… “Be careful what you wish for.”

  • Dave

Robert, I’ve not heard any reporting on whether the wide-spread use of ivermectin in Africa may be tamping down the severity and/or spread of the omicron variant. Have you heard anything?

  • Max

Ditto what Wayne said, good comments.

T-dub, enjoyed the video and agree. I shared it among the Young-uns at work and they thought it was great! (that’s what I call the coworkers that we’re not born yet, when I started working here)

    Phill O;
It’s well documented, The vaccines have no effect preventing COVID-19, Delta variant, or the midterm variant… (for which there has not been any hospitalizations or deaths despite the panic in governments all over the world, for which the only tool in their box is more vaccinations, “which do not work”)
Even one of the presidents of a pharmaceutical admitted that The vaccine is ineffective, that they will have to start from scratch making a new vaccine for the new infection, which sent the markets into a tail spin this morning.
Government, as usual, must claim to be doing something, even if it’s the wrong thing…

I recently posted documentation that for every one person saved by the vaccinations, four people died from heart attacks. This was known before their experimental DNA genetic manipulator was given an unheard of public experimental release, bypassing animal studies.
In phase 3 trials, there are strict rules with follow ups with everyone taking the experimental vaccine… Has anybody done a follow up with you asking you how it’s working? It’s actually federal law with experimental products.

    You said;
“The flu vaccine does not stop the flu necessarily, but definitely reduces the severity of the case. So it is with the Covid-19 vaccine. Personally, I am not willing to go through the more severe case to get my immunity. Anyone with underlying conditions has a greater risk of severe reactions, including death or the need for ICU care”

If you do not have underlying conditions… After the vaccination you will have underlying conditions for the rest of your life. Here is a news interview off the BBC. The shots are harming more people than it is helping.
Watch “Covid: Report reveals increase in risk of heart attack following the mRNA COVID vaccine” on YouTube 4min

Cotour makes some very good points, and here’s a short four minute interview, that backs up what he says, with the Amish Mennonite community.
When they take their communion, they all share the same cup, leading to a 90% infection of Covid. Nobody went to the hospital, nobody gets vaccinations. Very few died, but now they’ve achieved heard immunity. They did what Zimmerman has been calling for this entire time. Proof that he is right.

  • Max

Dave, you heard that correctly. Not only from dozens of medical journals but from Fauci’s own pharmaceutical sponsored government agency.
“if the NIH can say nothing bad, it must be wonderful”
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7968425/
    “Conclusions:
The incidence in mortality rates and number of cases is significantly lower among the APOC countries compared to non-APOC countries. That a mass public health preventive campaign against COVID-19 may have taken place, inadvertently, in some African countries with massive community ivermectin use is an attractive hypothesis. Additional studies are needed to confirm it.”

  • Lee Stevenson

Another instance when I am in agreement with you guys.. ( this is happening WAY too often for comfort! ;-)

I am booked to travel to England for Xmas with my kids, the first time their grandparents will have seen them for almost 3 years….. My father is hanging on by a string, ( 83, covid surviver, caught it in hospital ), and I fear if we don’t get over, it might be we never see him again. Travel restrictions are very fluid at the moment, and if travel is banned or made impossible by quarantine restrictions, well, at the very least I will have lost a chunk of money I could have put to better use for Xmas…. and the worst is we never see my father again.

What I don’t understand is this…. The “vaccines” do not stop you from catching covid, it doest stop you from spreading it, it does stop you from getting serious, life threatening symptoms, ( which is great… I am immunocompromised, so I’m happily double jabbed ), but I don’t see how this helps my fellow man if I can still spread it.

The only reasoning I can come up with is that the hope is the vaccines will reduce the death rate while we achieve herd immunity. If so, why are we not being told this?

For the record, my 16 year old son, and 13 year old daughter are both double vaccinated also, purely because they need a “vaccine passport” to travel to the UK. If the vaccines provided any sort of genuine immunity, then the best place to breed a vaccine resistant strain would be crowded schoolyards and classrooms.

My final comment is, remember where I live. A socialist country that wasn’t afraid to buck the trend. We only ever had “recommendations” regarding mask wearing and social distancing, admitted the bars did close earlier, but as I only ever enjoy a couple after work that didn’t effect me, footfall in shopping malls was lower, which did impact business, but on the whole, apart from travel restrictions imposed by other countries… Life continued pretty much as usual. We got heard immunity. Last time I checked Sweden had zero daily deaths!
( That’s in a socialist country guys!!! Think upon that before thinking conspiracy!)
The current world wide situation is due to the “abundance of caution” attitude, which is instilled in every political system. Not just us here on the “real” left.

  • Cotour

    Lee:

“That’s in a socialist country guys!!! Think upon that before thinking conspiracy!”

The conspiracy is here not there, trying to turn us into some perverted form of Socialist entity.

The numbers are the numbers and Sweden has done very well, congrats.

What is underway here in America is disgusting and concerning, a threat to us all.

  • Cotour

    Lee, comments?

“Sweden: Get Your Covid Vaccine Passport in a Chip in Your Hand “

  • Lee Stevenson

    @Cotour,

Never going to happen my friend. It’s true we have much more trust in government than you do over there.

The results of the management of the covid pandemic, our economy, our standard of living, healthcare… The list goes on why we should have much more confidence in our transparent system of government than you guys do.

But never make the mistake that Swedes are stupid. The establishment of a ( sometimes chaotic, but ultimately very successful ) system of governance shows that Swedes will not settle for a two party system which leaves many “holding their noses” and voting for the party they dislike the least.

Given an educational system which gives every girl and boy the chance for the best of education without leaving them with huge debt, the Swedes are, in general, very well educated, trust the government to run the country in a responsible socialist manner, but are also skeptical enough to vote that government out if they do not deliver, and very much skeptical to refuse to get “chipped” if the offer was made.

This is a country with a standard of living in it’s poorest corners that those in the USs poorest corners can only ever dream of. No chipping over here. Great public housing, public transport, the streets are clean, apart from (very) odd pockets of discontent, a generaly peaceful land which is a powerhouse of technical innovation and which punches way above its weight on the world stage.

    No chipping tho.

  • Lee Stevenson

@Cotour ( I’m working backwards thru the comments… Excuse me if it’s confusing..)

Quote… “trying to turn us into some perverted form of Socialist entity.”

Finally!! Recognition that “my left” is not “your left”!! Yay!!!

My left is a democratic socialist system which has an emphasis on social care, higher taxation, higher social service.

Your left is based upon that whole “cancel culture”, which I believe is finally running out it’s course.

I am believer in free speech, and will be until my grave. You guys are free to upset me, and I am free to upset you, ( within the rules of the forum we are using )

Anyone who trys to close down free speech in the name of socialism, or anyone who trys to blame it upon socialism simply does not understand the term “socialism”.

  • Cotour

“It’s true we have much more trust in government”. Yes, yes you do.

And no one has intimated that the Swedes were stupid to my knowledge. I certainly have not.

“Democrat Socialist” here in America is a relatively new term being used as an identifier, it sounds so harmless and warm and fuzzy.

It is not, it is “Progressive and “Woke”. It is a poison amongst us.

    From the NewsMax article:

While much remains to be learned about the new variant, researchers are concerned that it may be more resistant to the protection provided by vaccines and could mean that the pandemic lasts for longer than anticipated.

How long have they been anticipating to make this pandemic last? Why are our fearful leaders so eager to extend the panic?

    From the Brietbart article:

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that the United States should “be prepared to do anything and everything,” including lockdowns, to fight the new Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.

Ah, the lockdowns. They worked so well the last time. A three-week lockdown was supposed to save 40,000 lives, but our fearful leaders kept it up for months, and now we have lost more than ten times that many. Lives were not saved, just lost. Good work, fearful leaders.

However, this time it is reported as a mild version, and so far we are not hearing of any deaths from this variant, so maybe an overreaction such as lockdowns is finally appropriate, the same as we have done with regular flus and colds. (remember those lockdowns? Me neither.) For the more deadly original strain, our fearful leaders forced us to do all the wrong things, things that centuries of lessons told us they were wrong to do. Maybe our fearful leaders think that this time the wrong moves will finally work. After all, if we keep doing the same thing over and over again, one of these days we are bound to get different results, right? Right? (What did Einstein say about doing that?)

Except for those centuries of lesson that tell us otherwise.

  • wayne

    Max–
heard some stuff about that, but have not yet formed an informed opinion.

    Edward-
    good stuff.

just talk-talkin’ here for a moment–
    transmissibility vs. lethality:
with a parasitic type thing’ the evolutionary-environmental pressure is to replicate in-tact, without killing the host, while concurrently spreading to the next host. Killing the host before transmitting to the next host, places a self-limiting pressure on survivability.
(the common-cold for example, is highly transmissible but very low in lethality. In general, high transmissibility correlates with lowered toxicity. It’s not a Law, but we have experience with this effect.)
    Mutations–
–one quick way to induce mutations, in anything, is to repetitively subject it to a sub-lethal amount of a toxin. (or perhaps a vaccine that only targets certain receptors, rather than allowing one’s body to target and remember the complete foreign body)
[broad question– for what reason are we using mRNA techniques, rather than straight killed-virus? Is this a speed of development & production thing’ or what?]

  • I would suggest we turn our airport security over to Israel, and our public health system over to Sweden. Family members have had experience with public health care in England and Canada, and it was, not great. On the other hand, given the performance during the pandemic., can’t argue with success.

  • Cotour

Two interesting videos on the mRNA vaccine’s (vaccines”) :

    https://youtu.be/GYjTlfZn7R8 3:40 min.

Utah senator demands answers from CDC, FDA after hundreds of vaccine patients suffer ‘life-altering.

Is this government / big pharma / big tech / social media / main stream media agenda sooo strong that reason has been thrown out the window? To absolutely refuse to investigate or medically discuss or characterize what is apparent to anyone something to be looked into like the over the norm level of heart and several other issues related to the use of this new and never before used on human beings mRNA therapy is concerning to say the least.

Are the real or perceived benefits related to controlling Covid with the mRNA vaccines (“vaccines?) and not allowing these discussions about what appear to be the effects to some / many people and their negative health related experiences worth the distrust that is being forged in the minds of much of the public?

The government and those in science, healthcare and the medical world who are scared or not willing to speak the truth about these issues are doing everyone in America and the world a great disservice. And it is now bordering on criminal IMO.

In the end, in the long term, will it be worth it? Will the envisioned benefits out weigh the harm? The answer to questions like that are usually, NO.
