Developments at the Houston Spaceport industry park

The park in a sense in misnamed, as it isn’t a launch facility. However, it is now building a taxiway that will connect the park directly to Ellington Airport, which for these businesses will help facilitate the transport of large space station modules and lunar landers.

I discussed the park, briefly, in my book Ellington Field. It is intended as a launch facility, but only for spacecraft launching from runways. That is the reason for the taxiway. (At the time I wrote the book, they had just broken ground on the facility.) I did include an image provided by Houston Airport System showing a future spacecraft shooting a landing at Spaceport Houston. Yeah, it was visionware then and pretty much remains that today, but that is what they are shooting for.
