Dragon has successfully reached orbit.

No word on the attempt to bring the first stage down to the water under controlled conditions. One announcement during launch said the video was good and that the stage’s first burn was successful.

Terrific launch. Eagerly awaiting the results of the landing test. A video showing the Falcon 9 with legs extended hovering a few meters over he ocean would be spectacular.

    Elon Musk via Twitter:

Data upload from tracking plane shows landing in Atlantic was good! Several boats enroute through heavy seas.

Flight computers continued transmitting for 8 seconds after reaching the water. Stopped when booster went horizontal.

Sounding good. I guess there is no video. The proof will be in the pudding. In this case the water recovery of the actual flight hardware. Hopefully the seas aren’t too rough.
