"Useful to space buffs and generalists, comprehensive but readable, Bob Zimmerman's Encyclopedia belongs front and center on everyone's bookshelf." -- Mike Collins, Apollo 11 astronaut

"The Chronological Encylopedia of Discoveries in Space is no passionless compendium of information. Robert Zimmerman's fact-filled reports, which cover virtually every spacecraft or probe to have ventured into the heavens, relate the scientific and technical adventure of space exploration enthusiastically and with authority." -- American Scientist

Environmentalist organizations have once again petitioned the EPA to ban ammunition using lead.

The ban sought by environmental groups would not apply to ammunition used by law enforcement and the military. In addition to bullets and pellets used in hunting and recreational activity like range shooting, the petition seeks to limit the use of the metal in fishing tackle and weights.

Government agencies get a pass, but not private gun ranges, eh? These petty dictators have really only one goal, and it has nothing to do with protecting wildlife. They want to prevent private citizens from having access to ammunition, which in turn will prevent them from having access to guns.

Well, Robert, those suffering from the “psycho-sexual abberation” of wanting to be “In Charge” have always proposed this sort of thing..I cannot name one famous genocidal maniac who was in favor of the “Peons” having weapons….Including the British Labor Party… and the rest of the Euro-weenies….

  • In a sane world, EPA would require the petitioners to show cause: proof that lead ammunition is causing statistically significant levels of environmental aberration. What will actually happen, whatever the outcome, is that the petitioners will validate the feelings a great number of government employees have about themselves.

actually, this so-called law is a little step at dis-arming the citizens. it has nothing to do with environment but only uses that avenue to strike down Our rights in an otherwise free country
