IRS officials, including Lois Lerner, used their private email accounts to illegally transmit confidential tax information.

Working for the Democratic Party: IRS officials, including Lois Lerner, used their private email accounts to illegally transmit confidential tax information.

“[W]e have uncovered a troubling pattern of IRS officials sending official documents to non-official email accounts as well as the use of non-official email accounts to conduct official business,” the September 30th letter to acting IRS Commissioner Dan Werfil reads. “In some instances, IRS officials have sent taxpayer protected information to non-official email accounts.” The officials were identified as then-IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman, Lois Lerner, who headed the office at the center of the scandal, Judith Kindall, and Nikole Flax, who worked in Lerner’s office.

In the letter to Werfil, Issa said that the committee had found over 1,600 pages of emails and documents related to official business in non-official email accounts. Nearly 30 pages of the material contained confidential tax information. The revelation raises serious questions about privacy and the security of the confidential data transmitted to the private email accounts. There is also a question of what might have been done with the data after it was sent to the private accounts. Those records would not be subject to the normal rules of transparency or freedom of information requests.

The only reason I can think of for these IRS officials to do this is because they wished to hide what they were doing, which also suggests that what they were doing was downright wrong.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

    They knew it was wrong.

Otherwise why use a non government email?

The more I see stuff like this happening even outside Washington the more I am getting the idea that we need a HUGE purge of government personnel when the Republicans take over everything in the next election.

Urge friends to write down incidents and dates including the names of ANY local offenders and any Washington offenders and be prepared to make a large data base of those who need to be fired. If the state or federal government unions cry about a few obviously partisan employees being fired just remind them of the air traffic controllers and what they got.

Send a trusted unknown collage kid into the local democratic party offices to “help out”. They would stand a good chance of finding the goods as they are sent from higher ups. They can quit just before election time.

  • Having worked as a federal worker, I can tell you that the system is rigged against us. It is very difficult to fire a government worker. Witness Lois Lerner, for example. She wasn’t fired, she decided to retire.

The air traffic controllers took a clear action that was directly in violation of the law. Being a partisan Democrat, even in the performance of your duties, is far less clear. Not only will it be difficult to get these hacks fired, I expect them to use the system (as they have for years) to sabotage any conservative efforts to rein them in.

The we make it less likely they would like to stay in their jobs.

Remove any and all automatic wage increases. Remove guaranteed vacations. Remove health and retirement benefits.

The only reason to want a government job should be the fact that you have a very low chance on being fired or laid off when the rest of the country goes to hell.
Government jobs should not compete with or be equal to civilian jobs. They are not solders risking their lives for us, so we should not be paying them better than solders.

Back in the 30’s,40’s and 50’s being a government worker meant that you couldn’t find a good civilian job and had to settle for a government one. Or you were a wounded solder and that was all you could find.

    As for firing them.
All we need is ANY evidence they were breaking any employment rules. Like campaign work on government time or equipment. Including phones and computers. If we still can not fire them then fine them and charge them with theft of government property and or lying on their time cards.

No civilian employer would put up with you doing work for someone else on their time and equipment and neither should we.

When the fines hurt this BS WILL stop.

This current administration would never fire a loyal drone doing the unspoken will of the collective. Never. Think of the doubt and precedence it would create in the minds of the loyal drone doing the unspoken will of the administration. They would never undermine their work like that.

Let me restate that. They would fire them as a sacrifice if it served the collective. There are plenty of loyal drones / supporters that have been strategically run over by the Obama bus.

Kill these agencies and they have no job. Plus a hiring freeze in other agencies is what is needed, death by attrition. Of course the IRS is hiring thousands just to cover Obamacare compliance.

This administration doesn’t have to do a thing but continue on their illegal way.

The next Republican administration can file any and all charges as long as they have evidence.
Arm them. Remember each person and their offense, document as much as possible.
Elect those who want to take this track. Those who see the advantage and are willing to do it when elected.

This is war, don’t fire until you are sure of a hit, don’t make the hit until your sure of a kill, don’t make the kill until your sure you can take advantage of the situation your making.

Firing people now only gives this administration the chance to fill those spots with their own people. Which does NOT diminish their power but does give them an opportunity to gather even more.
