I am now running my annual July fund-raising campaign to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of the establishment of Behind the Black. For many reasons, mostly political but partly ethical, I do not use Google, Facebook, Twitter. These companies practice corrupt business policies, while targeting conservative websites for censoring, facts repeatedly confirmed by news stories and by my sense that Facebook has taken action to prevent my readers from recommending Behind the Black to their friends.

Thus, I must have your direct support to keep this webpage alive. Not only does the money pay the bills, it gives me the freedom to speak honestly about science and culture, instead of being forced to write it as others demand.

Please consider donating by giving either a one-time contribution or a regular subscription, as outlined in the tip jar below.

Regular readers can support Behind The Black with a contribution via paypal:

Or with a subscription with regular donations from your Paypal or credit card account:

If Paypal doesn't work for you, you can support Behind The Black directly by sending your donation by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman, to

Leftist thugs take over British college

Evergreen, with a British accent: A leftist cabal of antifa brownshirts has taken over King’s College London, with the administration there bowing to their demands that have shut down any dissent on campus.

The college now faces a scourge unprecedented in the U.K.: rampant violence against visiting speakers on campus. The violence is perpetrated by a small but organized coalition of radical leftist students. Rather than punish those students, the administration has opted to extend free-speech restrictions to the student groups targeted by the unrest. In the aftermath of Antifa’s disruption, the college enacted punitive restrictions on all of the upcoming activities of the Libertarian Society. The college even cancelled a scheduled talk about free speech with Dr. Adam Perkins, one of its own professors.

The administration is being held hostage by intolerant leftist students who dictate which ideas should be restricted through the threat of violence. Speakers associated with the far left are therefore given a free pass when invited onto campus, while conservative, libertarian, and pro-Israel groups are frequently forced to alter their events in order to allay extensive complaints from the agitators. Restrictions forced upon student events by the administration include the imposition of an extra speaker to create debate, a limit on the number of attendees, and, of course, the authoritarian Safe Space policy. The message these restrictions send is that “controversial” ideas, rather than autonomous individuals, drive violence on campus.

Read it all. It will appall you. I hope this college goes bankrupt. I would certainly not send my kids there.

Conscious Choice cover

From the press release: In this ground-breaking new history of early America, historian Robert Zimmerman not only exposes the lie behind The New York Times 1619 Project that falsely claims slavery is central to the history of the United States, he also provides profound lessons about the nature of human societies, lessons important for Americans today as well as for all future settlers on Mars and elsewhere in space.

Conscious Choice: The origins of slavery in America and why it matters today and for our future in outer space, is a riveting page-turning story that documents how slavery slowly became pervasive in the southern British colonies of North America, colonies founded by a people and culture that not only did not allow slavery but in every way were hostile to the practice.
Conscious Choice does more however. In telling the tragic history of the Virginia colony and the rise of slavery there, Zimmerman lays out the proper path for creating healthy societies in places like the Moon and Mars.

“Zimmerman’s ground-breaking history provides every future generation the basic framework for establishing new societies on other worlds. We would be wise to heed what he says.” —Robert Zubrin, founder of founder of the Mars Society.

Here’s a review of The Coddling of the American Mind: How Good Intentions and Bad Ideas Are Setting Up a Generation for Failure by Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt.

The book apparently discusses the problems and looks for solutions – rather than just going all stupid, getting mad and blaming and hating people. I think Haidt is worth reading, and so is Quillette.

And as crazy as this may seem the answer to these radical extremists that would defuse their entire argument? Keeping in mind that they are by numbers a significant minority which is amplified by their concerted efforts in organization and funding from their fellow Leftists. (They have nothing better to do with their money?)

The answer? The honest cleansing of the American government and the rampant and naturally accruing systemic corruption that has emanated from it throughout these contemporary years. Well as much of it that could reasonably be revealed and rectified. We could start with the actual prosecution of the real and fully detectable crimes of “You know who” starts with an “H” as the first order of business. Everyone knows intuitively that she stands at the interface of the two sets of laws that vex us all right now.

ANTIFA and the Left base their entire theory of existence on the existence of the American capitalism model of success, which is proven through time to be unbeatable. One that they would not hesitate for one second in replicating if they could. But they can not so it must be usurped.

And we can all see the fight to the death as it unravels between the deep state permanent government and the disruptive to that permanent model the Trump administration. There have not to my knowledge been two opposing forces of this kind within government before in American history. The ever growing Left influenced and empowered permanent government and the disruptive Trump drive to dial it all back to reasonable parameters that do not require the further confiscation of the individuals rights and wealth through regulation on top of regulation and politically correct legislation. This is the road to the Chinese millenium and their dominance of the world do to our inability to clearly think. Democracy and a relatively open society can be its own worst enemy.

And how might the list of issues to be reconciled to render the ANTIFA and Socialists, and Marxist movements null and void be populated?

#1 “H” revealed, arrested and tried. (Her health condition at this point would preclude all of this I am certain, she IMO is not long for this world. At least at a productive level)
#2 FBI / DOJ / CIA conspiracy against a duly elected president.
#3 Julian Assange releasing how he received the DNC email files and his association with Seth Rich.
You could probably stop there to disrupt their narrative, or you could certainly continue.
#4 Obamas many frauds and his involvement in attempting to usurp an election.
    #5 9-11
    #6 Kennedy assassination.
#7 ? UFO’s ? Nah, too next level and reality altering, no need to go there. But maybe some day.

The list is substantial and which ones to choose and actually reveal the actual truth about and government involvement in might be an interesting intellectual exercise. This of course will not happen to the extreme degree needed and so we will have the continuing push and pull of the forces of contention and political chaos and S.O.M. as the process to reach some new level of re balance moves into the future.

The ability for this unique American system to recognize, face and reconcile its failings and corruptions is its only hope to further succeed now that the level of technology exists that allows the population to research and know something other than what is pumped out of the agenda machine that has provided all guidance in the past.

Just some interesting thoughts to noodle with on this labor day.

I’m with you, Cotour: arrest all the fascists leftist liberal Democrats now!

But UFO’s, really? wayne likes Alex Jones and Jones regularly talks about chemtrails. Do you think that UFOs could be responsible for the chemtrails?

  • Cotour

I have never proposed arresting any or all of the Fascist Liberal Democrats just because they were Fascist Liberal Democrats, which is what you are implying. I tried to point out to you previously that your non truth fast and loose attacks and ridiculous confabulations are going to result in problems for you on BTB. I am reminding you of that once again, gird your loins.×438.jpg

1-Kennedy was assassinated by a conspiracy involving Ted Cruz’s father. Look it up.

    2-UFO’s, really?

  • wayne

“I need some muscle over here”

  • Cotour

    OM: UFO’s, Really.

Tell me what they are. (Anyone on BTB tell me what they are. If any people on the planet could or should be able to explain the many credibly sorted out and documented events then it should be right here)

Hundreds of years, even thousands of years of humans documenting something they encounter that compels them to document what they have seen, what is it? All of those people are insane and / or perpetrating a hoax? Mass hypnosis?

This is getting off subject and I apologize for that but to make a point lets include Sasquatch in that same “Really” related to things that appear ridiculous and non discussable in a serious way. Sorry, It ain’t no suit. Do just a little bit of research.

Hundreds even thousands of years of observation and documentation, just because the government does not formerly recognize these things does not mean that there is no meaning behind them. Think about how such things being formerly recognized would disrupt the forestry system alone.

You thought rare owls and frogs could shut things down? (I am actually surprised that the environmentalists have not made more of this in their mad dash to protect everything that is not human) And the UFO subject is just so destabilizing to the powers that be who are unable to explain something that reasonably through unbiased observation by many credible people professional and otherwise appears to have technology far, far beyond what we possess. You have concerns about the Chinese and the Russian’s and their level of technology right?

Like it? Don’t like it? Sounds crazy to you? Sounds crazy to me, but that is no concern of mine. These two particular subjects alone through individuals having a level of technology at their finger tips and reliably and consistently being able to record and transmit that information that has never before available to them has the potential to fundamentally change the public’s understanding of what their reality actually includes and what their government is really about. Its just a matter of time.

So that’s why I include it in my list.

  • Cotour and all: As you recognized, this is getting decidedly off topic.

  • Cotour

Agreed, but very interesting non the less.

  • wayne

Unfortunately, Kings College is not going bankrupt any time soon.

    “UFO’s” are by definition… unidentified.

    Joe Rogan –
“I Was Convinced Bigfoot Was Real!”

  • Wayne: I thought my implication was clear: I am not interested in seeing this thread descend into a discussion of Big Foot and UFOS.

Cotour: The topic is only “very interesting” to some, far fewer than you think.

  • Cotour

Kind of like all of the black and minority Democrats that will never admit they voted for Trump.

If you are conscious you are at least interested, even if you tend to not admit it or be able to professionally admit it.
