- Chinese pseudo-commercial company Landspace successfully tests oxygen-methane engine
Most of China’s pseudo companies have ridden on the coattails of the military’s solid rocket missile technology, supervised by the military. Landspace is now trying to branch out into liquid fueled engines.
- Chinese scientists produce a tectonic map of the Moon
Their paper is here. From the abstract:
The map provides a state-of-the-art illustration of structures and tectonic units of different periods, the distributions of 9 types of linear structures, including 18976 elements (358 inferred deep faults, 1335 shallow faults, 11046 wrinkle ridges, 474 rillles, 816 grabens, 2583 crater-floor fractures, 227 lobate scarps, 1882 impact fractures and 255 impact crater chains), and 5 types of circular structures, including 2501 elements (271 volcanic vents, 47 domes, 46 mascons, 3460 impact craters and 81 impact basins).
- NASA history: 50 years ago the stacking and assembly of Skylab (America’s first space station) began
- NASA’s Super Guppy transport aircraft apparently suffered an engine failure, forcing a landing
No injuries or damage. The plane, after taking off from Orlando appears to have had to quickly turned around and land, about 22 minutes later.
- Rocket Lab prepares for first launch from Wallops in December
The company originally wanted to launch two years ago, but was blocked by NASA’s bureaucracy, which was incredibly slow in approving and updating the flight termination software.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Seems to me there might be some ‘Restraint of Trade’ actions available against various Government Agencies.
Poor Skylab. It really deserved better, starting with its orbit.
“Chinese pseudo-commercial company Landspace successfully tests oxygen-methane engine” Whose design did they steal?
Col Beausabre,
It looks like Blue Origin’s BE-3. Looking at the stats.
Wait till they steal the BE-4! They will really be in for surprise!
