The man tapped to head Romney’s transition team should he win the election favors implementing Obamacare on the state level.
Not good: The man tapped to head Romney’s transition team should he win the election favors implementing Obamacare on the state level.
The Romney campaign responded to say that Romney intents to repeal Obamacare fully once in office. Still, to pick this man to head his transition team is worrisome.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

They had better plan on making state exchanges independent from federal control. Subsidiarity of personal health decisions and financial/insurance matters related to healthcare must be emoved from centralized federal control. Each state as a separate case study and petri dish to customize and develop plans that best fit each state’s situation. Portability should carry to all states and the ability to purchase health insurance should not be restricted to within states. Let the states compete and create insurance policies.
As a further thought to consider…since the right to privacy was deemed constitutional in 1973 via Roe v. Wade, making matters regarding one’s body a personal constitutional right, one can use the same arguement ( although I personally consider abortion evil) that ALL health care decisions are ultimately private and between only the doctor and patient. The federal government, therefore, has no juristiction in such private, personal matters of health and well-being. Such matters belong to the states as the principle of subsidiarity requires. How’s that for sticking their “right to privacy” right back at them?
I wish we really did have the right to privacy in regard to our medical records. The last group of people that should have them is a government employee.
