Putting a car in a livingroom does not turn it into a garage. While there were lots of pretty cars, I was hoping to see impressive tool collections and clever ways to store snow blowers.

I agree. The american garage is an iconic image of everything that has made this country the greatest capitalist contitutional republic the world has ever know. From Thomas Edison, the Wright brothers, Henry Ford, Steven Jobs or Bill Gates, the ability of an individual to tinker, design and invent in one’s private space with the freedom to do so far exceeds the capacity of any government funded research lab. The american garage is as american as baseball and apple pie.
