World’s first space detective agency launched

Your support will allow me to continue covering science and culture as I have for the past twenty years, independent and free from any outside influence.

The two man partnership isn’t going to be traveling the planets for forlorn females in trouble. Instead, they will use their expertise studying satellite imagery to aid in the investigation of legal disputes.

Two or three years ago, I went to a panel discussion on “space businesses.” The panel started with the premise that space businesses need not be companies that build space hardware but can be companies that use or support space hardware. They compared it to the internet, where internet businesses don’t have to build routers or lay cable but can sell books, deliver news, take pizza orders, etc. via the internet.

This detective agency would count as a space business, under that definition. This seems reasonable to me, as this company and the economic productivity that it represents would not exist without our robust space community.
