An evening pause: On October 9, 2010, the Boy Scouts set a world record by launching 3200 model rockets — simultaneously.

I’m a member of the NAR and a model rocketer. “Neat” as this was, I don’t think it was such a good idea. Looked like there were many collisions and the aftermath looked like the end of a bad accident. What did this teach the scouts? Did it help our (sometimes) struggling hobby? Who’s big idea was this and why did THEY think it was such a good idea? I’m sure they conducted this safely, but I hope no one tries that again.
