It WAS a coup attempt

In the past few days a number of news stories have confirmed, unequivocally, that the effort in the FBI, CIA, and Justice Department to spy on the Trump campaign before the election and then pin the false accusation of Russian collusion on Trump after his election were all an effort to dictate the results of the election, and then overturn it when Trump won.

It was an out-and-out coup attempt by these government officials, apparently aided and abetted by Obama when he was still president.

First we learn that the FBI agents working on the fake prosecution of former National Security were so worried their misconduct would be uncovered by the Trump administration that they bought liability insurance to protect themselves.

“There was no case against General Flynn,” Powell wrote in the new motion. “There was no crime. The FBI and the prosecutors knew that. This American hero and his entire family have suffered for four years from public abuse, slander, libel, and all means of defamation at the hands of the very government he pledged his life to defend.”

The new FBI evidence was turned over late Wednesday and included a stunning revelation that FBI agents originally planned to close Flynn’s probe, known as Crossfire Razor, on Nov. 8, 2016, nearly a year before he was charged with lying to the FBI.

“He said shut down Razor” and “so glad they’re closing Razor,” an FBI official texted that day. “However [redacted] was silent though, so who knows what he will want.”

By January [2017], the FBI analysts were alarmed that their agency was engaged in misconduct that could be discovered by President Trump’s new attorney general. “The new AG might have some questions….then yada yada yada…we all get screwed,” one official wrote. [emphasis mine]

They all knew there was no evidence against Flynn, and to get his conviction required blackmail against him as well as the faking of evidence, both of which were done. Those acts by the way are outright crimes.

Next we learn that, according to a high-ranking FBI investigator, the investigation run by Robert Mueller into collusion by Trump and Russians knew there was no evidence at all, but had an agenda to “get Trump.”

Reinforcing this agent’s claim is the revelation, also this week, that Mueller investigators illegally wiped more than two dozen phones clean of data to prevent the inspector general from reviewing them. These lawyers thus consciously obstructed justice by destroying evidence. That is another crime, by the way.

Finally, the most important story of all. It appears that the only source of information justifying all the FISA warrants and the Mueller investigation into the so-called Trump collusion with the Russians came from a source whom the FBI had previously investigated as a Russian spy.

The FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation on the primary source for dossier author Christopher Steele, and considered obtaining a warrant to wiretap him in 2010, according to a document released Thursday.

The FBI was also aware of the information about the source, identified elsewhere as Igor Danchenko, by December 2016, according to the document.

“This is the most stunning and damning revelation the committee has uncovered,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham said in a statement after releasing an FBI memo about the dossier source. [emphasis mine]

In other words, the FBI knew Steele’s one source was a Russian spy planting false information against Trump, and went ahead and used this Russian disinformation against him. Thus, in gaining their FISA warrants they knowingly used false information. That is another crime, in case you don’t know.

To sum up, the FBI and Obama officials as well as Democratic Party members of Congress knowingly colluded with the Russians in an attempt to overthrow the legitimate president of the United States, even as they destroyed evidence, lied to Congress, to investigators, and to the FISA court.

As always, if you want to know what the Democrats are really planning or doing, all you have to do is listen to their accusations against their enemies. If they yell that Trump is colluding, you know they are. If they scream Trump won’t honor the results of an election, you know they won’t.

And if they shout Trump will bring fascism to America, you know without doubt that if they gain power that is exactly what they will do, shutting down future elections and ending democracy and freedom.

You have been warned. How are you going to vote in November?

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

So it sounds like we the people can start killing the Coup plotters for treason….

  • sippin_bourbon

No, it does not sound like that at all.

Because that is not how it works. Period.

    First, the possible charges mentioned
were not treason, but obstruction. You have to build a case for treason, and you must have two witnesses to the fact. (This is why Bradley Manning could not charged with treason. He only told one person.)

More importantly to your point tho, is that we the people should not be resorting to mob justice. That is what those on the left, who desire to destroy this country and trash the Constitution, choose. To make this choice is to join them. So no. I choose the rule of law.

  • Ian C.

Killing is so mean (and we shouldn’t say such things on Bob’s website). I’d sentence them to serve behind the counter at some ghetto McDonald’s for 15 years.

  • Patrick Underwood

I predict we will kill them by giving them promotions.

    Need to drink more…

  • sippin_bourbon

    Pass the bottle…

  • Patrick Underwood

sippin, I’m a Scotch man, but I’ll drink anything at this point. Cheers Bro!

  • Cotour

This is all catching me off guard, why would the FBI leadership, the best of the best, do such a thing? Seems too hard to believe to me.

Q: How do you purchase liability insurance in order to protect yourself against illegal activity?

That alone probably means that its all not true and that Comey is being hung out to dry by the Trump / Barr DOJ.

  • Cotour

    And don’t mention George Soros.

(Just throwing that in for good measure)

  • Ray Van Dune

You’d have to have a heart of stone not to smile at the possibility of a fatuous jackass like Comey sharing a cell in Leavenworth.

  • wayne

yeah– “liability insurance,” what’s that all about? I have professional liability insurance and it doesn’t cover criminal activity.

I would put forth the proposition: all these people need to spend some quality time at our Naval base in Cuba being interrogated to within an inch of their worthless lives.

  • Cotour

    Is sedition illegal, Wayne?

If Biden were to win then would it matter?

This all goes away one way or another if Biden and his Leftist Democrat handlers prevails. This until there are indictments in the pedestrian realm, remains in the political realm. And the political realm will make it go away in order to protect the political realm, and the inside players within both political party’s leadership will be relieved.

And this is one of the main reasons that Trump must prevail. We are only half way through this trial by fire in the efforts to save our country and our Constitution. Its going to have to get much worse before it gets any better, and that is going to require Trump remaining president.

And that is why we can trust no one here and the people must do their part and make sure there is no ambiguity about who is president. Biden is a proxy for Sanders, and this presidential race is about Capitalism V Socialism. And that is just how simple it all is.

  • Ray Van Dune

Speaking of games… if someone tells me they know all about how “Spy-gate” is a hoax, I apply a simple test: I ask them what “FOIA” means. Since thousands of documents, emails, texts, memos, etc. have been released under FOIA over the last several years, showing explicit DOJ / FBI conspiracy against Trump, and the NYT, et al., have not covered a single one of them, if you only get your news from the MSM, “FOIA” won’t ring a bell.

My sister-in-law was unimpressed. She says she knows the whole story about collusion, and so what if she has never heard of FOIA? I gave her this example: suppose I claim to know all about the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s. So you ask me “Well then, what do you think about Rev. Martin Luther King’s contribution?”, and I respond “Who?” Now you know how I feel about your claim, my dear!

Of course, since FOIA has been around a long time (Democrats back in the day loved using it it against GW Bush), many older Dems recognize the acronym from way back then, before it became so dangerous! For them, I use Test # 2… “Okay, tell me about about the “Two-hop Rule’!”

    “Duuuuhh? Bingo – never fails!

  • Ray Van Dune: I must be uneducated. I have no idea what the “Two-hop rule” is. Please explain.

  • pzatchok

They will never be indicted for insurrection or treason.
But they can be sent to jail for many other smaller crimes.
    Only if Trump wins though.

The 2016 election will still be written about 25 years from now, and no one but the Republicans and Trump will look good. This was actually bigger than Watergate except the offending party lost the election.

  • ziegler von strahn

Robert…The two hop rule is actually 3 hops. It was first revealed under Snowden and has been mentioned pertaining to Obamagate.

NSA can and will surveil the target.
They will also monitor all of their contacts. That’s One hop.
They will also monitor all those contact’s contacts…That’s Hop 2.

By 3 hops, you can encompass most of the USA populace. see also 6 degrees of separation.

  • F16 Guy

Obama’s legacy as the worst, most corrupt president is being written and put in stone daily.

  • Ray Van Dune

The point of mentioning the two-hop rule is to illustrate how most people have no conception of the power of NSA spying. The FBI got a warrant to wiretap Carter Page – so what?
As explained by the commenter above, Two-hops means they could actually wiretap ANYONE in the campaign, including Trump himself.

Another thing… various spokespeople claim the FBI didn’t start wiretapping Page until after he left the campaign, so no foul! Nope- the NSA database allows you to retrieve communications arbitrarily far INTO THE PAST!! Another little detail the MSM never burdens us with!

  • MDN

I knew of the 2 hop rule and have often wondered how large a net that cast. Think about this:

All you need is one call to establish a “link”, and if any link connects to someone on the whitehouse staff then you get everyone up and down and across the chain. Further, these people are in contact with many Republican politicians, and they would all be in touch with many other Republicans and again their office staffs that coordinate almost all congressional activit.

So, collectively this likely gave them surveillance power against essentially the entire administration and much of the Republican representation in Congress.

Barr, or more rightly Durham, should create a spider diagram of the access this warrant enabled and present it to the American people. They could hide specific names to protect the innocent, but they should clearly illustrate how many sr. staff and extended staff were monitored, how many family members of the President and his staff were monitored, and how many politicians of each party, and their staffs and families were monitored. And they should include, if possible, the intensity of scrutiny given to all of these possible “sources” as well in order to illustrate if there was a party line bias in the effort.

The result I expect would be extremely disturbing and enlightening to the American people, and drive home just how outrageous and out of control this effort was.

  • Ray Van Dune

What does all this NSA Wizardry really mean? It means that the FBI / Mueller Special Counsel had access to every communication, of every kind, that the Trump campaign and Trump himself ever sent or received… EVERY ONE.

And there were no cut-off times, no barriers between Trump’s personal and business comms, those of the Trump campaign, the Trump President-elect’s Transition Team, and eventually even President Trump’s White House staff. MUELLER HAD EVERYTHING, for as many years back as he wanted to go, and up to the second before his 40 investigators were cut off. What is the significance of all that?

The significance is… Mueller found nothing.

    Think about that carefully.

  • pzatchok

Much like the 6 degrees game.

Think about this. How many introductions do you need to be introduced to anyone in the world.

At one point I was three from the Pope and only one from Obama.

  • Milt

Going back to the most substantive part of Robert’s post, the only possible conclusion is that, as he suggests, there was an attempted coup against the Trump Administration.

“To sum up, the FBI and Obama officials as well as Democratic Party members of Congress knowingly colluded with the Russians in an attempt to overthrow the legitimate president of the United States, even as they destroyed evidence, lied to Congress, to investigators, and to the FISA court.”

Does this “bother” anyone, and what are we supposed to “do” about this?

Consider also that it is highly likely that despite all of this evidence, no one will ever be formally indicted for anything related to this, let alone convicted, and — as widely noted — the Democrats are STILL conducting what amounts to a violent insurrection (via Antifa and BLM) against the legitimate government of the United States going into the November election.

This suggests that (1) we are indeed in a civil war, and (2) that President Trump — much like President Lincoln in somewhat similar circumstances — has only marginal control over his own Justice Department and apparently almost NO effective control over the FBI. To a great extent, the leaders of the coup still retain control of much of the federal bureaucracy, if not the military, and — somehow — the Trump Administration is supposed to govern — and win reelection — despite this. The ongoing scandal with respect to the continued “judicial lynching” of General Flynn while Judge Sullivan gives the finger to both President Trump and the American public is merely one of the more visible indications of this. “You may believe that you won the election in 2016, but don’t be fooled; *we* remain in control.”

Worse, the Democrats’ COVID-enabled mail-in ballot ploy / anticipated Lawfare attack on the basic legitimacy of the election would seem to present a very strong opportunity to effectively invalidate a free choice by the American electorate and install a mentally incapable sock puppet in the White House.

Again, this is the situation, but what can be “done” about it? Sure, voting, but what beyond that?

Here’s a thought. Has anyone other than myself called their local NPR / BPS affiliate and indicated to them why (1) they will NOT receive any membership support during their pledge dirve, and (2) that they will work as diligently as possible to ELEMINATE ALL FEDERAL FUNDING for this relentlessly woke agitprop agency. (That President Trump has initiated a mandate to end all Critical Race Theory / 1619 Project-based “workshops” within the federal government and for government contractors does indicate that even the holier than thou propagandists at PBS / NPR might be reined in.)

  • Gary

“This is all catching me off guard, why would the FBI leadership, the best of the best, do such a thing? Seems too hard to believe to me.”

Top leadership in any large organization are politicians. If they are the best, then we are talking best polititions. Even if they headed up a major religion, I doubt that we could consider them to be moral politicians. This, for the most part, is an oxymoron.

  • Eric Watters

It was never about overturning an election. It was all about destroying Trump and his entire family after he LOST the election. Trump was never expected to win. This was going to be the Left using the weight of their corrupted political power to absolutely destroy a private citizen, Trump (and his family), for having the audacity to challenge the Obama/Clinton machine. Clinton, The FBI, and others were setting Trump up as an example to the rest of us. Had Clinton won Trump would have been raided by the FBI just as Roger Stone was – made a spectacle and perp walked in handcuffs for the camera. The coup only came after Trump’s improbable win. The ground was being laid, before election night, to humiliate and arrest him – and be sure a political opponent died in jail. You think the coup part is bad? Somehow, it’s much, much worse than that. The framing and jailing and destruction of one’s political opponents with the full support and sanction of government agencies and the media.

  • Ray Van Dune

Eric Watters… It was never about overturning an election.

Beg to differ, Eric. IIRC, the Strzok “insurance policy” was concocted before the election. It was using the Steele Dossier to provide enough fuel for a Special Counsel, who would uncover enough evidence for an impeachment. They had to knife Flynn first, because Flynn was one of the only Trumpers that had played in the big leagues, and would see it coming.

  • Billy Jack

The Democrat Party has become the (Socialist Identity Party) and promise Progressive fantasies, (The Carrot), i.e. Bernie’s unsustainable Socialist programs to further their evolving Marxist/Maoist ideology (The Stick). Maoist methods (Cancel Culture) are used to erase America’s Customs, Religion, History, and Established Ideas in their strategy to destroy America’s current form of government based on the Founding Father’s Constitutional blueprint. Their ultimate goal is to install a Totalitarian atheistic government that starts out as a form of corrupt and unworkable Socialism.

America endured 8 years of Obama’s criminal political assault and his failed coup called (RussiaGate) to overthrow President Trump. RussiaGate was a conspiracy to overthrow a sitting president (Impeachment Sham) carried out by a coordinated effort of high-ranking government employees across many agencies, who knew exactly what they were doing. Americans are starting to understand how the Obama administration weaponized the DOJ, FBI, CIA and IRS to go after his political opponents, and in doing so, he trampled the Constitution and fueled the violent overthrow of cultural norms. America, in her glorious history, has never experienced anything in politics as corrupt as Obama’s RussiaGate. Nixon’s WaterGate political crimes look like an overdue library book by comparison.

Read “The Permanent Coup”, by: Lee Smith to fully understand the depth of Obama’s RussiaGate crimes.

  • John

“You have been warned. How are you going to vote in November?”

Does it even matter anymore? We just witnessed a coup attempt by dishonest, corrupt, liars who blatantly abused power. They lied about collusion, they lied about Ukraine, they lied to the FISA court. The smashed cell phones, they wiped cell phones, they ran private non-government e-mail servers and then sanitized them. They knowingly persecuted the innocent. They abused the IRS. All while the 24-7 news cycle supported it.

Call it the deep state or call it the swamp or call it the entrenched corrupt bureaucracy. But it doesn’t care one bit about elections.

We should vote against it for as long as possible. But we are already at a time where votes don’t matter. Come November, they will make it official and find exactly the votes they need in the weeks after the election.

  • pzatchok

    Every vote matters.
    Especially the legitimate ones.
Its a moral imperative to keep doing what is honest and right even in the face of overwhelming evil, deceit and power.

  • Daniel Kleitman

A charge of treason requires an action, even perhaps a use of force, in support of an attempt to overthrow our constitutional government, and that includes an attempt to reverse the results of an election.
Under our constitution, only our government has the right to use force and may only do so in enforcing laws and regulations.
A group of government employees illegally used the powers of our government to use force against the duly elected Trump administration. The arrest and prosecution of Flynn was such a use of force, and was based on altering documents and other actions which are counter to legitimate government.
Those involved in this activity which included threats to prosecute Flynn’s son in an effort to coerce a guilty plea are parts of this treasonous activity.
Everyone associated with this prosecution may be guilty of conspiracy to commit treason, and even Judge Sullivan may well be an accessory after the fact in this treason. (Just as Dr. Mudd was tried and convicted for treating Booth after the assassination of Lincoln without reporting it to authorities.)
The death penalty may well be appropriate.

Cotour, your questions in your first comment are the same ones that have puzzled me.

These are (supposedly) the brightest and best people in America going to the best universities and with all the right connections, using the most advanced technology and surveillance systems in the world, and yet the best they can come up with is childish and idiotic: Trump hiring prostitutes to urinate on a bed Obama slept in, “Russia collusion” narrative collapse, second person hearsay of a phone call to a foreign leader, Strzok – Page unprofessional childish text messages….

And now Judge Sullivan’s crazy judicial jiu jitsu dragging out the prosecutor’s motion to dismiss charges against Lt General Flynn, which without this delay we wouldn’t have known about Obama’s and Biden’s direct roles in the coup.

My only explanation is they got sloppy because “they never thought she would lose” and that none of this would ever be exposed.

Medieval painters portrayed Satan as a dog biting his own tail.

  • Mitch S

The key to the Dems getting away with their coup attempts is the support of the mainstream media.
They can paint the evidence as “a conspiracy theory” because it’s not in the NY Times, WaPo, on CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC etc.

    Of course we must vote.
    Anything else?
I suggest making political contributions. No, a modest donation is not going to result in new ads that will swing voters, BUT if politicians see a surge of grassroots financial support for Trump and Republicans they will pay attention (someone actually sending money sends a much stronger message than someone responding to a poll).
Also I suggest supporting truth seeking media outlets such as Project Veritas.
Finally, if possible, get a job or volunteer for your local election board – but don’t let them know you lean right. Having honest eyes see how those ballots are counted may be vital.

Looking back in history it seems impossible that any country would welcome civil unrest. It starts with a unified group of people being divided and believing that they are not being manipulated by a small faction.
I have no idea why any resealable person would ever identify as a Democrat or a Republican. By definition doing so makes them a follower. A mindless automaton carrying the message of some faction whose intent is not clearly known. The same has been said of all large organized groups including religions. No individuals in history have ever had their beliefs represented clearly by any group. It is impossible by definition. Individuality is what makes us unique. Groups have power but not individuality.
Reading views posted here has made me realize that people are nothing more than lemmings following their brethren off the cliff. The same thing one write of another is what your views will bring to fruition.
The decisive nature of the current leadership can be looked at as a catalyst or not. It is still up to each of us as individuals to act responsibly and know whether the inanity we are spreading helps or hinders.
It seems impossible that we as brothers and sisters of the United States of America could ever allow some faction to cloud our love of one another into decisive hatred which will lead to civil unrest. Please think before disseminating the words and views of others you are so sure are aligned with yourself. By definition they do not share your individuality. By spreading their message instead of your own you sow seeds of discord which lead to all our demise.
I hear and feel the tenets of reason within some of these frustrated and angry words, but that does not make them reasonable.
I am praying that we all (myself included) receive clarity in which we recognize one another as fellow respected Americans once again.
