For decades the Democratic Party and the left (I repeat myself) have used public demonstrations to garner support for their agenda. A bunch of protesters would gather in some public place, holding preprinted signs and demanding “action” for some leftist cause or another. The propaganda press would then give the protest loving coverage, advocating the cause nationwide as something that “must be done.”
For decades these protests have had some success. They forced the public debate to move in the direction the protesters wanted, and almost routinely resulted in legislative or executive actions that they supported.
All this has changed. The recent protests against the Trump administration’s effort to deport illegal immigrants, often devolving into violence, rioting, and looting, have done nothing to shift Trump’s policies. More important, they have done nothing to convince the public to their cause. If anything, all polls indicate these protests have been counter-productive, that the public has shifted even more strongly in its support of Trump.
The picture to the right, a screen capture from the video below, I think illustrates beautifully why these protests have failed so spectacularly. It shows a woman insanely trying to stop an ICE vehicle carrying captured illegals by grabbing the bus’ front grill. As she does this she starts screams madly, first by shrieking “Let my people go!” and then “Don’t kill me!” as the vehicle begins to accelerate. Eventually ICE officers pull her away, but then she tries to grab the side of this bus as well as two others that follow, all the while continuing her mindless screeching.
She is quite large but she's not going to stop a Chevy 550 ICE bus.

It is obvious from this video — sadly quite typical of the behavior of these leftist pro-illegal immigration protesters — why the protests have failed so magnificently. This is infantile behavior. It matches that of a two-year-old screaming on its back as it pounds its feet and fists on the ground and demands its way, without logic or thought. “I WANT! I WANT NOW!”
Nor is this woman unusual. Democratic Party politicians themselves have recently matched her effort, repeatedly interfering with law enforcement officials and getting themselves arrested.

- Federal authorities arrest two judges, in escalation of Trump immigration crackdown
This is only a sampling. There is also the numerous times Democrats at all levels have loudly called for violence against Trump, Republicans, and anyone who disagrees with them.
Thus, this childish and brainless behavior is not merely coming from the rank-and-file of the left. It permeates its entire mentality, from the bottom to the top.
None of this has any rationality to it. All of it is emotional hate, magnified by a complete lack of reasoned thought. Above all, it provides the objective public no reasons to support Democratic Party causes. If anything, it gives everyone proof that Democratic Party policies are bad, have little merit, and are based on empty and out-of-control emotions.

This pattern has been obvious now since 2016, when Trump won his first election for president. Then we saw endless fake scandals and investigations against Trump and his allies that only caused his support to grow, while support for the left steadily dwindled.
In response the Democrats have only doubled down, ramping up their infantile behavior. During Trump’s first term the whines and complaints were loud and annoying and almost always based on lies and slanders, but involved little relative violence. Since then however these tantrums have increasingly evolved into violence, including two assassination attempts against Trump and numerous riots across the country.
Has that ramp up worked? Of course not. All evidence shows this infantile behavior convinces no one. The public supports Trump, and that support continues to grow because while there may be valid reasons to disagree with him at times, overall his policies do make some reasonable sense. And what the Democratic Party offers in opposition is absurd, frightening, and above all, has the mentality of a spoiled brat.
Until this changes, expect more defeats for the Democratic Party and its leftist supporters.

I don’t think they’re trying to normalize political violence, I think they’re looking for the martyr/cause celebre for this cycle to up the violence. The leadership used to keep their own noses clean, but the failure of the masses to succeed seems to have made the leaders try it themselves, thinking that they might make better martyrs. Instead, we are seeing who are the children in the room.

The Modern day protestors are trying to precipitate a (possibly fatal) incident so they can move to the Eric Garner mode. One could make a decent argument that the FBI were, at a minimum, fellow travelers of Antifa until Kash Patel and Dan Bongino took over. Scourging of the Shire is ongoing. Trump is, thus far, keeping federal presence – military, not FBI – limited to guarding federal property during the current piss-ant insurrection on behalf of illegals – and the usual grab bag of other nutbar leftist obsessions. The only feds on the street are ICE agents.
The extent to which the various tribes of leftist crazies are allowed to run amok is a function of local and state Dem leadership. Trump wants to underscore this. Recent poll results suggest that this is working.
This nonsense is portrayed by the dying legacy media as involving “millions of Americans” and to be taking place “everywhere.” It’s actually thousands, not millions, and many don’t seem to be Americans. Those that are Americans seem to be mainly rent-a-rioters who are paid, transported and furnished with convenient pallets of bricks to throw by what little still remains of the formerly massive criminal NGO complex being burned down by DOGE. The remainder are local wannabe “rebel” nitwits and dupes.
It’s also taking place exclusively in blue-controlled jurisdictions. The wackos know better than to try this crap in places like Idaho. Even in red state cities with blue mayors there is a notable dearth of such activity.
As for the CIA and the cartels, the CIA has, until recently, simply not given an institutional fig about the cartels. Under its new management that seems to be changing a bit. The US intelligence apparat may finally be at least beginning to deal with the fact that we have long had a semi-failed state below our southern border and, increasingly of late it would seem, a second one above our northern border.
There is also, of course, the likely imminent disappearance of Iran as a consequential nation and the only modestly more distant prospect of the same fate befalling Russia. The CIA will have a lot more to learn, but also probably rather less to actually do, before the end of the second Trump administration.
Right now, there is a lot of transitional noise and bother, but the general trend of things is favorable – more favorable by the day IMHO.
