Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Increasingly it appears the Obama administration used the IRS as a tool for harassing its opponents.

Readers!

Every February I run a fund-raising drive during my birthday month. This year I celebrate my 72nd birthday, and hope and plan to continue writing and posting on Behind the Black for as long as I am able.

I hope my readers will support this effort. As I did in my November fund-raising drive, I am offering autographed copies of my books for large donations. Donate $250 and you can have a choice of the hardback of either Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8 or Conscious Choice: The origins of slavery in America and why it matters today and for our future in outer space. Donate $200 and you can get an autographed paperback copy of either. IMPORTANT! If you donate enough to get a book, please email me separately to tell me which book you want and the address to mail it to.

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. My analysis of space, politics, and culture, taken from the perspective of an historian, is almost always on the money and ahead of the game. For example, in 2020 I correctly predicted that the COVID panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Every one of those 2020 conclusions has turned out right.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription:

4. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

  • “Increasingly it appears the Obama administration used the IRS as a tool for harassing its opponents.”

He wouldn’t be the first President to do so, but it does fit his personality.

I just saw a report on Drudge that the IRS also targeted Jewish groups. Makes me wonder if they also targeted other religious groups. How can anyone be this reprehensible? (Or stupid)

First they cam for the Tea Party, then they came for the Jews. Didnt we have this conversation from 1939 to 1945?

One critical question to ask — but no doubt will be avoided — is whether the IRS under this administration has investigated a single Muslim organization in the United States.

You all realize that the IRS is to be used to enforce Obamacare.

“Obamacare: Taxpayers Must Report Personal Health ID Info to IRS

When Obamacare’s individual mandate takes effect in 2014, all Americans who file income tax returns must complete an additional IRS tax form. ”

    Good question, P2.

  • Sounds familiar. Here in Australia there was a law passed requiring everyone to acquire private health insurance by their 31st birthday or pay an increased medicare surcharge for life. The surcharge is collected through the tax system. I dutifully acquired my private health insurance, then a few years after my 31st birthday they changed the law again: anyone earning more than “average income” has to pay the surcharge anyway. The year before last they changed the law again: anyone earning more than “below average income” has to pay the surcharge too. I expect next year the law will be that anyone above the “poverty line” will have to pay the surcharge. Boil the frog slowly.

Ayn Rand wrote (I para phrase) that at some point the government just makes anything that a citizen does illegal, then we are all criminals in the eyes of the governnment and at that point they are justified in doing “what is neccessary”. They own you know as of the passing of Obamacare. Anyone who controlls from who, where and when you get your healthcare functionally owns you. Exactly the opposite from the intent of the founders. This is the slippery slope and it is unacceptable.

Here’s a graphic on the history of politics in the IRS, pretty neat: http://www.topaccountingdegrees.org/irs/
