“He is incompetent, dishonest and not interested in the actual work of governing.”
Guess who: “He is incompetent, dishonest and not interested in the actual work of governing.”
Seems an apt and accurate description to me. And the man who wrote it was an Obama voter in 2008.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Despite the author’s curious claim to be a Democrat and an Independent, a well-reasoned take on POTUS. I never heard the “now the planet can heal line.” Not surprising, though, given Obama’s arrogance.

When I saw this four years ago, I knew Obama would be a failure as President. The arrogance and hubris was breathtaking. Unfortunately, the country was delusional, voting for this man not because of his qualifications or abilities but because of his skin color.
A telling moment that showed this delusional state was after one of the debates. I watched one of Frank Luntz’s focus groups. He asked them if they were voting for Obama. Most raised their hands. He then asked them if any of them could name one thing Obama had done, either in the Senate or in Chicago. No one raised their hands. They knew nothing about him but his high minded words and his skin color, but that was enough.
Tribal thinking as Mamet puts it.
I recall vividly the speech Obama gave about this being the moment that the oceans would cease their rise, the planet would be healed, etc. – it was the most stunning bit of self-aggrandizement I’ve ever seen. Truly, it was sickening, because I feared we were in danger of electing a man with Narcissisitic Personality Disorder. He was in effect proclaiming himself a Messiah. Nothing he has said or done these past 4 years has changed my opinion – in fact, he’s strengthened it. He’s proven repeatedly that he has a vastly inflated image of himself that simply does not comport with reality. Truly frightening…
