More new robots from Boston Dynamics
The video at the link shows off SpotMini, of video of which I posted previously. However, the first robot shown is one they have named Handle and is something they admit could be “nightmare-inducing.” It walks upright on two legs, but instead of feetpods it has wheels, giving it the ability to move very fast. And for some reason, they put its arms on backwards so that the elbows bend inward instead of outward.
Watch the video. The robot design work here is truly breath-taking.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

I would hate for it to be looking for me.
Cotour: You really really really should click the link at my posts before commenting. The link you provide is exactly the same as the one I provided in my post.
:o I clicked on the second video, I did not see the first for some reason. Lets blame it on Trump.
A friend sent me the video that you posted, very impressive.
The scariest robots are those that are most human like. Dealing with things that appear to be human could seriously mess with our psychology and social behavior. Maybe I’m getting old and conservative. Why have children if not to solve these strange future problems?
The “arms” bend as though it’s a quadruped animal, like a horse.
Or you could look at it as though it were a humanoid moving backwards.
Lean one way and it could gallop or climb, lean the other it could grasp and “step” like a human…
