Readers! A November fund-raising drive!

It is unfortunately time for another November fund-raising campaign to support my work here at Behind the Black. I really dislike doing these, but 2025 is so far turning out to be a very poor year for donations and subscriptions, the worst since 2020. I very much need your support for this webpage to survive.

And I think I provide real value. Fifteen years ago I said SLS was garbage and should be cancelled. Almost a decade ago I said Orion was a lie and a bad idea. As early as 1998, long before almost anyone else, I predicted in my first book, Genesis: The Story of Apollo 8, that private enterprise and freedom would conquer the solar system, not government. Very early in the COVID panic and continuing throughout I noted that every policy put forth by the government (masks, social distancing, lockdowns, jab mandates) was wrong, misguided, and did more harm than good. In planetary science, while everyone else in the media still thinks Mars has no water, I have been reporting the real results from the orbiters now for more than five years, that Mars is in fact a planet largely covered with ice.

I could continue with numerous other examples. If you want to know what others will discover a decade hence, read what I write here at Behind the Black. And if you read my most recent book, Conscious Choice, you will find out what is going to happen in space in the next century.

This last claim might sound like hubris on my part, but I base it on my overall track record.

So please consider donating or subscribing to Behind the Black, either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. I could really use the support at this time. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation. Takes about a 10% cut.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription, which takes about a 15% cut:

4. Donate by check. I get whatever you donate. Make the check payable to Robert Zimmerman and mail it to

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

    What a Surprise!

An entire satellite dedicated to “proving” the Globull Warming, Globull Cooling, Climate Change, Climate Crisis Hoax.

New Zealand partnering with The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).

When will the EDF and all the other Climate Charlatans start “studying” the amount of water vapor? Never.

Only the evil hydrocarbons that fuel freedom are to be studied, controlled and limited.

30% of the earth is covered in clouds on average. +/- 10%
(have you ever seen a picture of the earth without clouds?)
H4O2 blocks and reflects a larger window of the energy spectrum than any other atmospheric substance but they don’t count it because it’s part of the hydrosphere.

Carbon makes up 10% of the natural elements in earths crust.
All life on this planet is carbon-based. To hate all carbon life is to be a member of a death cult.

The emperor knows he has no clothes, he is a pervert. Unfortunately he also has a large army with guns daring somebody to say something…

Ronaldus Magnus asked (and answered): “When will the EDF and all the other Climate Charlatans start ‘studying’ the amount of water vapor? Never.

What is most interesting to me, with this question and its obvious answer, is that the popular, favored climate models — the ones that are still used despite having been proved wrong — make the assumption that it is not the CO2 itself that is the major source of global warming (or climate change/climate disruption/the coming ice age/whatever) but that the very slight warming caused by CO2 results in an increase in water vapor in the atmosphere, and that water vapor causes much more warming than caused by the CO2. The CO2 is measured, but measuring H2O is more difficult.

CO2 is somewhat more evenly distributed throughout the atmosphere, but because H2O precipitates out in various areas at various times, the water content of the air is very different around the world and generally changes daily or hourly.

The attempt to add methane (CH4) into the equation is also difficult, as it chemically reacts over time, turning into lesser greenhouse gasses. Did I say add it to the equation? That is wrong. They were not intending to add it to the failed climate models or any other models. They only wanted to add it to the discussion that is based upon those failed models. When the reality varied from the models, the climate community changed the datasets that represent the reality — fudged the datasets! — changing them in order to make it appear that the data look more like the favored, yet failed, models — to make it look like the models match reality better than they do. They changed the record of the reality in order to rationalize their failed models and to make their version of the discussion seem reasonable.

How does all this relate to the essay on how poorly they managed MethaneSAT?

    From the Essay:

… MethaneSAT aimed to detect methane leaking from oil and gas facilities worldwide.

    and:

… as well as an add-on effort to track agricultural methane emissions from space.

The entire premise of the purpose of the satellite was flawed. It was not intended to do basic research into methane in the atmosphere so that this chemical could be related to the effects of the other chemicals, but it was intended to place blame on two or so industries for global warming (or whatever today’s politically correct term may be).

But, we are told to follow The Science. The Science is the political branch of science* (science does not need a political branch). Science (not The Science**) neither leads us nor presents us with a path to follow. Science does not determine morals, ethics, good from bad, or what actions to do and what actions to avoid. Those are the realm of philosophy and politics, which are responsible for discussing and determining our principles and doctrines for our ethics and morals.

Bogus models. Bogus The Science. Bogus discussions. Bogus research satellites. Bogus dataset handling. Bogus war on our “carbon footprint.”
