Please forgive this pleading appeal. I am now doing my annual February fund-raising campaign for Behind the Black to celebrate my 73rd birthday. Your support, by donating or subscription, will allow me to continue this work as long as I am able. And I don't want to stop anytime soon.

And I do provide unique value. Fifteen years ago I said NASA's SLS rocket was garbage and should be cancelled. Almost a decade ago I said its Orion capsule was a lie and a bad idea. As early as 1998, long before almost anyone else, I predicted in my first book, Genesis: The Story of Apollo 8, that private enterprise and freedom would conquer the solar system, not government. And while everyone else in the media still thinks Mars has no water, I have been reporting the real results from the orbiters now for more than five years, that Mars is in fact a planet largely covered with ice.

I could continue with numerous other examples. If you want to know what others will discover a decade hence, read what I write here at Behind the Black. And if you read my most recent book, Conscious Choice, you will find out what is going to happen in space in the next century.

Nor am I making this up. My overall track record bears it out.

So please consider donating or subscribing to Behind the Black, either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get. (Note: if your bank requests you also reference “Diane Zimmerman” in using my email address, do so. We are temporarily using one of her accounts, tied to my email address.)

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation. Takes about a 10% cut.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription, which takes about a 15% cut:

4. Donate by check. I get whatever you donate. Make the check payable to Robert Zimmerman and mail it to

On Coast-to-Coast tonight

For those of my readers who might want to try to call in to improve the conversation, I will be on Coast-to-Coast with George Noory tonight for two hours starting at 10 pm (Pacific). The first hour will be devoted to me talking about space news, with Artemis-2 the main topic. The second hour will be for listener questions.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Oh, I’m definitely tuning into this one. I may even try to call… if I can get the kids to sleep early enough.

Robert Zimmerman in conversation with George Noory, now that could get interesting, I think the word is.

I liked Art Bell much better.

Half the calls will be MHBs (Moon Hoax Believers)
The other half environmentalist fools who hate Elon.

No offense, Robert, but I’ve never listened to the show and have no plans to start now. My paternal grandmother was a flying saucer nut – an acolyte of George Adamski. I had my fill of all of that when I was a kid.

Coast is known for getting folks outside the mainstream, yes….but that could be good or bad.
Zubrin, Shostak are mainstream guests. Noory could get some bubbly so-and-so on in place of Mr. Zimmerman, but he doesn’t… that’s to his credit.

More people listen to that rather than The Space Show—so that gives Mr. Z a wider audience to influence perhaps. Some times, you have to go to the mountain and meet people where they are.

    Jeff Wright,

I’m not criticizing Robert Z. for going on the show, just stating that it’s not my personal cup of tea. The same, sadly, has largely become true of The Space Show which I did once listen to fairly regularly, but from which I have fallen away as the programming has become less and less interesting.

    Public vs Private
    Solids vs Liquid
    Human vs Robotic
    Winged vs Boostback
    Moon vs Mars

    –all hashed out countless times.

That’s how many friendships end….with everything having been said.

I would want to hear, even pay to hear the Zman and George Noory discuss this story, God that would be entertaining :)

    Travis Walton: https://youtu.be/xXm1Hyc-EL0?si=KmGZOOLZFoYEv-0p

All the guys on the crew told the same story and all passed lie detector tests, they were all suspected of murdering Travis. Then he shows up 5 days later.

“No offense, Robert, but I’ve never listened to the show and have no plans to start now. My paternal grandmother was a flying saucer nut – an acolyte of George Adamski. I had my fill of all of that when I was a kid.”

Maybe granny was not that crazy?

Travis and his buddies all tell the same story till this day 50 years on: https://youtu.be/3VwzW4CCi9A?si=zooBKX2ipqFcKWCX

Some of these stories are beyond hoaxes.

Sounds crazy but there it is all the same.

    Cotour,

Compared to alleged alien abductees, Grandma was not that crazy. She believed in benevolent saucer people, not alien kidnappers and obsessive proctologists. They supposedly came from Venus, looked pretty much like we did and wore vaguely Arabian Nights-ish pantaloons and shoes with odd glyphs incised on the soles. She died in 1968 and so never saw any of the Venera landers actually make it to the Venusian surface and report on the hellish conditions there.

But you must admit, there are a set of subjects that are not today rationally explainable that many very credible people have attested to seeing and even interacting with.

Something else is apparently going on and I do not mean on URANUS.

    Information? Disinformation?

    Good old Grandma.

One of my favorite audio/videos is the The Young Turks 2016 Election Night Meltdown. I listen to it every so often. Such as gas.

One other MAJOR favorite is the link below. Four hours of Art Bell and his Cydonia “Experts.” This audio is also downloadable.

    Enjoy
