My February birthday fund-raising campaign for this website, Behind the Black, is now over. Despite a relatively weak initial three weeks, the last week was spectacular, making this campaign the second best ever.

Thanks to every person who donated or subscribed. It continues to astonish me that people who can read my work for free like it enough to donate money voluntarily. Words cannot express my appreciation for that support, especially in these uncertain times.

If you have been a regular reader and a fan of my work and have not yet donated or subscribed, please consider doing so. I take no ads, I keep the website clean from pop-ups and annoying demands (most of the time). Thus, I depend entirely on my readers to support me. Though this means I am sacrificing some income, it also means that I remain entirely independent from outside pressure. By depending solely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, no one can threaten me with censorship. You don't like what I write, you can simply go elsewhere.

You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation:

4. A Paypal subscription:

5. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

“The disease may recede, but the stigma lingers.”

Link here. The author notes how his 21-year-old daughter tested positive for the Wuhan virus, exhibited no symptoms at any time, and yet finds now herself too often treated like a leper to be avoided in terror. He then provides a magnificent analysis of this disease’s true threat, which is practically nothing at all when put in proper perspective. Consider just this one example provided by him:

The CDC discloses in only six percent of all coronavirus deaths, “COVID was the only cause” mentioned. For the other ninety-four percent, “there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.” There were 115,495 fatalities where patients got admitted to the hospital with “influenza and/or pneumonia.” Another 93,393 checked in with respiratory failure, while 35,167 arrived amid cardiac arrest. Yet hospital administrators sign COVID on death certificates one hundred percent of the time. Early on, Dr. Deborah Birx publicized the probability that medical facilities overstate numbers of actual coronavirus fatalities

Of U.S.165,000 casualties attributed to COVID, six percent translates that less than ten thousand fatalities were otherwise healthy.

He also notes this:

Over the past couple of weeks, the media, with lackey doctors Fauci and Gottlieb providing imprimatur, double down on hysteria as for several days, COVID cases spiked above 70,000. Even Republican governors cowed under pressure as many states slow or halt reopening economies. For perspective, for the six-month Oct-April 2020, CDC reports up to 56,000,000 seasonal flu cases. This calculates to over 300,000 per day. Currently, the official COVID count stands just over 5 million. Does anyone, ever, refer our annual flu “tradition” as a pandemic? During the recent case spike, deaths never got above 55 percent of the April peaks.

There’s lots more, if only people were willing to read it and put aside their false terror of this disease. Sadly, they are not. His accurate analysis will fall on deaf ears.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

NBC Poll today (Aug 11) says only 17 percent of US families will let their children attend traditional, in-classroom school this Autumn. Gotta congratulate the SOB’s – the Big Lie Technique has managed to terrify the US population. It will happen after I’m gone, but imagine these kids, with their damaged psyches and social development running this country…”Home of the Brave”….I don’t think so.

People have been conditioned through years of being fed misinformation. Global Warming caused by burning fuel, birds dying from DDT use, ozone depletion PCB toxicity; and the list continues! I know of several conservatives who have bought into these ideas and misinformation.

Does anyone else realize that there are a number of thing which cause egg shells to thin and the affects some misinterpreted as being caused by DDT. Did you know there were no pathologists (human or veterinary) involved in the original research?

The free world is being destroyed by our own hands!

Perhaps next they will stumble upon the idea of testing for another virus, and find that it too is everywhere. Everywhere! and then another virus. And yet another. All of them are everywhere. Perhaps then the panicdemic gets a bit numb and people accept this reality that we have lived with for billions of years.

Bunker basement Biden has appointed Kamala Harris for VP candidate, in effect the real presidential candidate! The democRATS don’t even try. They take a quick look at Trump and know that they cannot win. So they just put on a show of losers instead. That’s why the Democrats look so crazy nowadays. All sensible Democrats are biding (no pun intended) their time until Trump cannot be reelected.

I’m in the group holding my kids out of school this fall, but it’s not because of fear of the virus. It’s because the school is requiring around the clock mask usage by students, despite all evidence that children are safe from the virus and unlikely to transmit to adults. I won’t let them instill my children with fear porn when they can learn just as well at home. I suspect many other parents are in the same camp as me.

A prophetic quote by president Eisenhower, who was very prescient on the subject of the abuse of power and how government manipulates.

    Dwight D. Eisenhower:

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

I’d say that partnering medicine with government is asking for total bondage to the state.

There are many stigmas associated with this disease. Not only is being a survivor a stigma because everyone is afraid of catching it, even from those who are now healthy and immune, but we have other stigmas.

Hospitals carry a stigma, resulting in fewer people willing to go in for treatments or diagnoses of problems. Too many people seem to believe that hospitals are full of Wuhan flu patients, and if they go to the hospital they will become ill and die (Wuhan being so fatal, and all).

Cities and states are stigmatizing themselves. People are fleeing some states and cities due to the overreaction to the Wuhan virus (and fleeing other cities, such as Minneapolis, due to lack of police protection, which is an unrelated issue).

Some idiots keep telling us that we haven’t had such a panicdemic in a hundred years, but we had at least two worse pandemics within the past half century or so.

The essay’s author, Rbf, points out that not wearing a mask is also a stigma: “Masked hikers on the mountain trails of Colorado assiduously avoid my uncovered appearance. My advance reeks panic of approaching death. They move aside, bow heads in prayer-like posture, and for extra protection, place their hands over already camouflaged faces.

Making masks a sign of patriotism is the way Biden tries to stigmatize those not wearing them. Why does he have to do this? Because so many of us know that masks don’t do what our leaders claim that they do, and that they can be worse than useless.

I have decided to not wear a mask but to wash my hands as a sign of patriotism, and to stay at home if I fall ill as yet another sign of patriotism. Both of these alternate actions are far more effective than mask wearing. Actual patriotism (as opposed to symbolic patriotism) is more important to me than virtue signaling my patriotism. Why pretend to be saving lives when I can easily and comfortably take actions that actually save lives?

It is like the recycling drives during WWII. Recycling aluminum and steel was patriotic, because it helped the war effort. Wearing surgical masks all day long was not, because it did not, so those at home and those on the battlefield did not wear masks during WWII.

What I like best about hand washing and staying home when ill is that it means that I have been patriotic for many decades (but I’m not that old), while so many others are only just now becoming patriotic — and they are showing this patriotism in a way that makes no difference to the health of those around them or to their own health.

But then, who should have to worry about their own health or anyone’s health? That is what Obamacare is for, to make sure we all have access to healthcare. Unless there is a lockdown, shutdown, smackdown, Great Oppression in which all care except for Wuhan flu is suspended. But what healthcare system is perfect? Our Democrat leaders behave as though if we aren’t ill with Wuhan flu then we obviously don’t need healthcare, and if we do have the flu then we are going to die anyway, so Obamacare is futile. You really have to hand it to how these Democratic states take such good care of us.

    A GOVERNORS REVERSAL

And really, what business does a governor have in saying what drug or therapy can or should not be used by a doctor and his patients? These, what can accurately described as political operatives for the Democrats through their actions are the ones that may well have cost people their lives during this Communist Chinse “Bat soup” virus contagion by denying reasonable therapies.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2020/08/17/mn_governor_quietly_reverses_course_on_hydroxychloroquine__143978.html

“Though his critics are likely loath to admit it, there’s reason to believe the president may have been on to something. In recent weeks a chorus of voices in the medical community has emerged to challenge the view that hydroxychloroquine is ineffective as a COVID treatment. Dr. Harvey A. Risch, a professor of epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, said a full analysis of the literature suggests hydroxychloroquine may be the key to defeating the coronavirus.”
