Burt Bacharach wrote beautiful melodies and arranged beautiful productions beginning in the late fifties! Never more so than were his litany of creations sung by Dione Warwick.
Artists, such as The Shirelles, Gene Pitney, Bobby Vinton, Chuck Jackson, Jack Jones, Tom Jones, Carpenters, Jackie DeShannon, Dusty Springfield, Herb Alpert, BJ Thomas, Elvis Costello, and more.
Dionne perhaps gave him notoriety outside of musical circles, bu inside them, everyone knew the potential value of singing a Bacharach tune arranged by him as well!
What a wonderful voice.

Burt & Hal wrote and, in the early 60s, Dionne sang, a lot of great songs. This, unfortunately, is not one of the better efforts by any of the three. The melody is erratic and unmemorable – not to mention unhummable. The lyric is trite and didactic. Even Warwick’s delivery reflects the song’s shortcomings, though she certainly deserves kudos for the effort made.
