Free speech for me but not for thee: It appears that Facebook has censored a post by the Navy Seals merely because it was critical of President Obama.
Democratic civility: An openly gay volunteer for a Republican running for Congress in Wisconsin was severely beaten in his home after receiving threatening and obscene messages from the husband of the Democratic candidate.
The Democratic candidate is also openly gay, and it was his husband who sent the messages, some of which are also include racial insults of the Republican candidate’s Mexican-American wife.
Guess who: “He is incompetent, dishonest and not interested in the actual work of governing.”
Seems an apt and accurate description to me. And the man who wrote it was an Obama voter in 2008.
When you try to sell government policy based on crisis, and that crisis doesn’t take place as predicted, and in fact is shown to be based on fraud and dishonesty, the sales job will eventually fail. Thus, better to forget the whole thing and make believe it never happened.
Leftwing civility: The death threats against Mitt Romney continue to pour out from Twitter.
An Italian court has convicted seven earthquake scientists of manslaughter for their failure to properly warn the public prior to the L’Aquila earthquake.
The court also sentenced the men to six years in prison, which is two years more than the prosecutor recommended.
The more I have read about this case, the less I have been in sympathy with the scientists. While it is absurd to expect any scientist to be able to precise predict the occurrence of an earthquake, in this case some of the individuals convicted had issued statements that actually go against basic earthquake science in order to give the public a false sense of safety. They claimed that the increased level of seismic activity suggested a reduction in the risk of an earthquake, when all research actually indicates the exact opposite.

Freedom of speech is so 20th century: The filmmaker who made the anti-Islamic movie falsely blamed by the Obama administration for the Libya attack has now been in jail for a month.
The movie had nothing to do with the Libya attack. And even if it caused the riots in Egypt, who cares? I thought there was something called the First Amendment, a law to protect the speech rights of U.S. citizens. Yet, Barack Obama and his entire administration have done everything they can to blame the movie, not their own foreign policies, while going out of their way to squelch this man’s freedom.
But remember those binders!
The unreality of the past four years.
For me, this unreality began during the Clinton years, continued during George Bush’s administration, and reached its height at the 2008 election. The country chose to be delusional, making its choices not based on facts but solely on emotion and good intentions.
York’s assessment of the Obama campaign is fair and detailed. I would add that any campaign that thinks voters care more about a puppet and binders then they do about a failing economy and a bankrupt federal government should have no expectation of winning on November 6.

Read the whole article. It is detailed, and I think gives an accurate portrayal of the present political attitude of the black community. And this is in Chicago. Blacks might not be ready to vote Republican, but they apparently are finally beginning to realize that the Democrats aren’t their saviors.

The Cuban government announced today that, beginning January 13, 2013, it will allow its citizens to freely visit other countries for the first time in over a half century.
This quiet announcement reminds me of what happened in East Germany in 1991. The government then made a quiet announcement saying it would allow travel outside its country, and within days the Berlin Wall was literally being torn down by its citizens. Shortly thereafter East Germany ceased to exist, absorbed into Germany itself, and the communist bloc fell apart.
Hopefully, we shall see the same thing happen to the Cuban dictatorship.
Today one mainstream newspaper finally caught up with the global warming skeptic community and recognized that a recent release of data from the United Kingdom’s Met Office shows that since 1996 the temperature of the climate has stalled. For the past sixteen years there has been no global warming, at all.

Read the whole article. It very clearly illustrates the reality today that if you disagree with the gay movement in any way, they are increasingly demanding that you should not be allowed a job anywhere, and your career, life, and family should be destroyed.

The article quotes numerous Constitutional scholars, cites numerous examples of abuse by Obama, and repeatedly makes this same point:
Multiple experts interviewed for this article cited the Obama administration’s willingness to disregard laws for the sake of his policy goals as evidence that the president is disregarding the Constitution.
The last thing a free nation needs is a leader who has contempt for the law.
Finding out what’s in it: A new survey of 13,575 physicians had found that doctors are fleeing the field.
The survey also found that over the next one to three years, more than 50 percent of physicians will cut back on patients seen, work part-time, switch to concierge medicine, retire, or take other steps likely to reduce patient access.
But don’t worry, “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period.” Not!

This analysis is fascinating, as it notes a significant shift in the press’s normally lapdog Democratic Party spin effort to a much more hostile approach. If this is true, that the leftwing press has decided to stop protecting this administration, than Obama and the Democrats have no chance come election day.
The long list of links — social and political — that this article outlines between the Democratic Party and the journalists that dominate the media is downright appalling. No wonder they can’t report objectively. Too many of them have been activists trying to get Democrats elected.

We’ve only just begun. Two Baptist-affiliated colleges today sued the Obama administration over its contraceptive mandate.
There are now 33 separate lawsuits over this odious attempt under Obamacare to impose contraceptives on those who do not believe it moral to use them.
The Obama administration had declared that a company whose sole business is to publish Bibles is not religious enough for an exemption to the HHS contraceptive mandate.
The company has of course gone to court. The mandate itself is odious and unconstitutional. It is not the business of the federal government to decide who is religious and who is not. Nor is it that government’s business to force behavior on anyone that they do not believe.
The law is such an inconvenient thing: A GAO investigation into fraudulent and foreign campaign donations has discovered that the Obama.com website is owned and managed by a man in China with ties to the Chinese government.
That’s not all.
The unusual Obama.com website redirects traffic directly to a donation page on the Obama campaign’s official website, my.barackobama.com, which does not require donors to enter their credit card security code (known as the CVV code), thereby increasing the likelihood of foreign or fraudulent donations. The website is managed by a small web development firm, Wicked Global, in Maine. One of Wicked Global’s employees, Greg Dorr, lists on his LinkedIn page his additional employment with Peace Action Maine and Maine Voices for Palestinian Rights. According to the GAI report, 68 percent of all Internet traffic to Obama.com comes from foreign visitors.
The Obama administration had this same problem in 2008. Donations to its website did not verify the donation, allowing donations from anywhere, even if illegal or from foreign sources. There’s more here.
How ABC News destroyed a company with false allegations, and is now being sued for $1.2 billion because of it.
Though this attack by ABC was not obviously political, it followed the same pattern as their coverage of politics. They had an agenda, they pursued it without mercy, and they did so with a complete disregard for the facts. I hope they lose big in this case.
The Mexican government has confirmed that three of the guns used to massacre 15 teenagers were obtained by the killers under the Obama administrations’ Fast-and-Furious operation.
Leftwing tolerance: A high school teacher in Philadelphia threatened a student last Friday for wearing a Romney t-shirt on dress-down day.
The teacher allegedly told the girl to take off the shirt, saying it was like wearing a Ku Klux Klan sheet. The teacher allegedly threatened to use a marker to cross out Romney’s name and that of Rep. Paul Ryan, his running mate. The teacher also allegedly tried to throw the student out of class. The teacher also allegedly said that Carroll was “a Democratic school.”
