Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Democrats: “We have the right to vandalize Teslas, and if you try to stop us you are fascists!”

The modern Democratic Party
The modern Democratic Party

My headline above paraphrases somewhat the insane position of Congressman Dan Goldman (D-New York), but so slightly that I think I can be forgiven. In a tweet posted earlier this week, Goldman’s reaction to a new federal task force aimed at investigating and catching the terrorists who have been firebombing Tesla dealerships and vandalizing Tesla cars was as follows:

This is the political weaponization of the DOJ. Trump uses his official authority to defend his benefactor Elon Musk. The FBI then creates a task force to use our law enforcement to “crack down” on adversaries of Musk’s.

Where are the Republicans so opposed to “lawfare”?

In other words, any effort to stop leftist rioters, looters, and vandals is misuse of government power, and is thus further justification for more leftist rioting, looting, and vandalism. According to Goldman, these thugs have the right to do anything they want to hurt Elon Musk, his businesses, his products, and his customers, simply because Musk no longer supports the Democratic Party and is trying to eliminate the fraud and corruption that has been impregnated within the entire federal government by that very party.

This is the Democratic Party today, a supporter of violence, censorship, and brutality, all in the name of gaining power. Nor is Goldman an exception at the top. His party’s base is all in on this violence. If anything, it is unhappy that the party leadership has not been more aggressive in resisting Trump. For example, a new poll shows that Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) — dyed-in-the-wool communist and supporter of Hamas — now “best reflects the core values of the Democratic Party.” And those polled also ranked almost as highly the rest of the party’s most radical leaders, including Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Hakeem Jeffries, and Jasmine Crockett. The last two have been very open about advocating violence against Republicans and their supporters. Apparently rank-in-file Democrats agree.

Goldman is merely tapping into that base, saying what they want to hear in order to gain their support.

Increasingly the Democratic Party's operational handbook
Increasingly the Democratic Party’s operational handbook

Lawyer and political analyst Jonathan Turley, in posting his own disgust at Goldman’s tweet, maybe said it best:

Goldman’s latest controversy captures how Democrats have now entirely cut the cords of decency and moderation that once tethered their party to the mainstream of our society.

Hey, but who cares? Trump and Musk must be “literally Hitler!”, and thus any means necessary to destroy them and their allies is completely justified. Go Democrats! Show us your tolerance by assaulting innocent bystanders! Prove to us your support for free speech by violently attacking anyone who disagrees with you. Demonstrate how you support the rights of others by trampling on their rights, at every single opportunity.

And most of all, illustrate how you support the rule of law by breaking every law you can think of in order to obtain as much power as possible.

Sure seems to be a winning strategy. Look how well it worked in the last election!

Readers!

My annual February birthday fund-raising drive for Behind the Black is now over. Thank you to everyone who donated or subscribed. While not a record-setter, the donations were more than sufficient and slightly above average.

As I have said many times before, I can’t express what it means to me to get such support, especially as no one is required to pay anything to read my work. Thank you all again!

For those readers who like my work here at Behind the Black and haven't contributed so far, please consider donating or subscribing. My analysis of space, politics, and culture, taken from the perspective of an historian, is almost always on the money and ahead of the game. For example, in 2020 I correctly predicted that the COVID panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Every one of those 2020 conclusions has turned out right.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription:

4. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

The democrat Party Of Hate practices their Two Minutes Of Hate…….every two minutes.

  • DEMOCRAT POLITICIANS: STUPID OR EVIL?

“Are you a parent? Sometimes when I hear some of the massaged, intellectualized and justified positions of a segment of the Democrat party politicians it just makes me ask: Are they stupid and they actually believe what they are trained to say? Or are they actually evil? ”

“Pennsylvania State Senator Williams and many other politically empowered politicians throughout the country, overwhelmingly associated with one particular political party, are either stupid, or they are evil. You tell me which is which.”

This was foretold by many before the election.

Do they not realize they are robbing or damaging no one but the insurance companies?

Musk has insurance covering everything including his rockets. Car dealerships are privately owned and obviously insured. Private cars are insured so…….

All they are doing is causing the owner to repaint the car at the insurance companies dollar. Or at worst buy a whole new one on the insurance companies dollar.
If they burn one they are poisoning the environment with that battery junk. If not possibly risking a firefighters life.

The ‘terrorists’ are at best causing a mild inconvenience for a few people. In some cases they could even be getting rid of a car an owner no longer wants and can not sell. Replacement costs are higher then resale prices.

    pzatchok,

Never underestimate the utter stupidity of these people. Logic has no place in their thinking. They are fully controlled by their hatred.

  • “Musk has insurance covering everything including his rockets. Car dealerships are privately owned and obviously insured. Private cars are insured so…….”

The radicals (Privileged children of the nation) use this thought process to buttress and justify their vandalism, “they have Insurance”. No one is really getting hurt.

The only way to address this insanity may be to have them all go a week or two without food? Then they might take a moment to understand that things, especially their precious feelings and intellectualized morality come at a real cost. Freedom to protest and be moralistic is not free.

“This is the Democratic Party today, a supporter of violence, censorship, and brutality, all in the name of gaining power.”

So… the same Democrat Party we’ve always had. The Civil War, the Klan, Jim Crow, segregation, then race riots, Black Bloc, Antifa, BLM, and now “Tesla Takedown”.

I’m honestly surprised they have yet to burn a giant Tesla logo on someone’s lawn. It would be on-brand for them.

Actually, many Tesla cars have Tesla insurance. So the insurance company that will end up paying for some of this vandalism is Tesla. Even if they have another insurance company paying, the private cars owners may see their rates go up.
This vandalism needs to be stopped. Not only must the “useful idiots” face consequences, but the people instigating it need to as well.

ALL* our relatives are forever Democrats with a couple Never Trump “Republicans”. What is amazing to me is that they ignore or deny the reality of the official radical D party positions and fixed in their minds is the milquetoast (non-existent today) moderate D party image of the 20th century as they go to the polls and vote solid D. They’re soccer moms & dads voting against the “extreme” right. That world view is how the Ds keep winning elections. Their view of the political landscape is totally different than mine. No discussion.

    * OK, except for our daughter’s outcast family of Trumpers but with her conservative husband’s solid D siblings

    A disturbing development

    https://phys.org/news/2025-03-court-cases-protestors-focus-remorse.html

“Protestors charged with non-violent offenses should be able to explain their motives in court as part of their legal defense, new research says.”

    Shielding Green terrorists, no doubt.

  • James Street

Most of the masses in these protests are just brainwashed idiots, but the higher ups are pure evil. Last year in one of his campaign speeches President Trump mentioned how the swamp had destroyed Don Jr’s innocence. The same thing happened to me in early 2017 when I was red pilled.

This morning I drove past a Tesla dealership and there were 100+ people with signs lining the streets on both sides, jaywalking across the road to disrupt the flow of traffic, and the police weren’t doing anything. Like the ever increasing leftist-promoted graffiti around Seattle, its intent is the acceptance of the erosion of Western civilization.

  • Dick Eagleson

Prompt and consistent application of the laws against arson and vandalism should be sufficient to shut this nonsense down quickly. Every Tesla vehicle is festooned with cameras and they are on all the time so evidence to identify and convict the offenders should be surpassingly easy to come by. When a few of these loons start being sentenced to serious jail/prison time, the rest of these cretins, who are mainly cosplaying at “revolution,” will take the hint and find a safer anti-social hobby.
