Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Modern Democratic Party McCarthyism

Are you a registered Democrat? Do you want to find out who you are really supporting? Then I think you need to watch Congressman Jesus Garcia (D-Illinois) two days ago during House hearing on the southern border crisis while questioning former ICE Director Tom Homan. He encapsulates perfectly the bigoted, hateful, and oppressive attitudes of the modern Democratic Party.

Most news sources have focused on Homan’s immediate visceral response, calling Garcia’s comments “disgusting.”

I think it more important to listen again to Garcia and his ugly slanderous and uncalled-for ad hominen attack on Homan’s character. My focus here is on the politicians now running the Democratic Party, not the ordinary citizens who are still registered Democrats and are unaware of the cruel, mean-spirited, and bigoted nature of those who now lead their party. If you still vote Democrat you need to know what you are voting for. It is not pretty, and it should make you ill.

I have therefore embedded the video of the exchange below, along with a transcript of Garcia’s words. Though my focus is on Garcia, it is worthwhile to watch the whole clip.

Garcia:

Mr. Homan, do you understand that the consequences of separation of many children will be lifelong trauma and carried across generations. Have we not learned from the internment of Japanese Americans?

Mr. Homan, I’m a father, do you have children? How can you possibly allow this to happen under your watch? Do you not care? Is it because these children don’t look like children that are around you? I don’t get it.

Have you ever held a deceased child in your arms? [emphasis mine]

It was to these words that Homan responded. Though I can understand Homan’s anger, the words I wish he had said instead to begin his response would have been “Have you no sense of deceny?” echoing the words said to Senator Josephe McCarthy during one hearing in his witch hunt of communists that essentially ended McCarthy’s political career.

First, Garcia ignores some basic facts, that Homan had tried to explain to these Democrats earlier in the hearing. Anyone who breaks the law and is arrested gets separated from their children, even if the children were forced to participate in the crime.

Second, illegals can instantly solve the problem of separation by agreeing to return to their home country. Their children will be returned to them and they will all go home together. No one is forced to stay in detainment, unless they are trying to game the law to get into the U.S. illegally.

Third, the internment of Japanese Americans (done by a Democratic president) has nothing to do with the present border crisis. That it is brought up illustrates Garcia’s desire to slander Homan.

Finally, Garcia’s willingness to call Homan a racist, with absolutely no evidence, illustrates how much like Joseph McCarthy this Democrat is. He wants anyone who dares oppose him to be blackballed, to be destroyed, to become a pariah.

Unfortunately, he is no different than the majority of Democratic politicians in office today. They hate Trump, but they also hate those who voted for him. This hate is eating at them, and is getting them to do and say things that are vicious, destructive, and downright evil.

If the voters do not begin to recognize this and remove these people from office, the future of the United States cannot be bright.

The support of my readers through the years has given me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Four years ago, just before the 2020 election I wrote that Joe Biden's mental health was suspect. Only in this year has the propaganda mainstream media decided to recognize that basic fact.

Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Even today NASA and Congress refuse to recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

    The democrat death spiral:

    1. The meaty middle class Democrats of America, confused and disillusioned and have no idea what has happened to their political party.

    2. The Liberal Democrats, emotional and confused and have absolutely no leadership to direct them.

    3. The Leftist / Marxists of the Democrat party, they now identify as “Progressives” or “Democrat Socialists” (Read: Leftist / Marxists). These are the radicals that are driving real fear among in the overall party, they are activist “Community organizers” and will further drive the party into disarray.

The ultimate goal of these operators? Destroy America as founded, open borders, no borders, no Second Amendment, no private property, no unauthorized speech etc, etc. These are the operatives of the New World Order / One World Government. THIS is todays Democrat party, its ugly and will get much uglier before they get any prettier.

Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do, their ignorance truly is bliss. Hopefully we can sort them all out before you have to get involved.

Keep it going ladies, you keep those self righteous shovels busy.

I am sure Nancy’s head is spinning, she is lost and will be made irrelevant and will be neutralized and painted with the broad brush of Leftism by these players. Dragged down further and further.

In a session like this, we aren’t allowed to tell a representative that he is a liar, and we have to call him “honorable,” but it seems that we can do the next best thing and say, “Your Comments Are Disgusting.” With luck, this will be this century’s version of “Have you no sense of decency?”

The Dishonorable (Mis)Representative Garcia has no shame. Interestingly, his own words betray his own racism, as he assumes that the white man, because he is white, must necessarily not care for children who “don’t look like children that are around” him. He clearly and proudly makes this accusation, betraying his own bias and racism.

This is not a new phenomenon in the Democratic Party. It has been racist since the beginning, but as the Republican Party’s Civil Rights Movement won the day, President Johnson made sure that the Democratic Party hid its racism in such a way that blacks and other minorities would be attracted to the party that was so racist against them. Johnson turned to a soft racism, in which minorities were not outright called inferior but were treated as inferior, unable to succeed without the help of the white Democrats.

What Garcia has failed to note is that despite his belief that America is racist, it isn’t just whites who come here, but minorities continue to flock here. All of them realize the reality that America is not actually racist but that this is a place of equal opportunity. Whether or not the results are good is up to the individual.

Homan is correct. Garcia is complaining about a situation that is Garcia’s to solve. Homan is given direction and limits by Congress, but Garcia is blaming his own employee for the problems that Garcia will not fix.

On the other hand, why should we expect Garcia to fix them? If he fixes these problems then he will not be able to accuse as racist the people who enforce the bad laws that he is responsible for.

Not only can the illegals (or misdemeanants, if you don’t like the word illegal applied to people) solve the problem at hand, but so can Garcia.

Finally, Garcia, like so many other Democrats, would not let Homan have his say and had cut him off early in his response to the half-dozen or so rapid fire questions he asked. Did Garcia want the answers or just the pleasure of asking the questions? It was a pleasure that the chairman allowed time for Homan to finish his response, defend his own reputation, and present his own side, which was far more useful than Garcia’s statement of, “you’re a racist.” Like many Democrats, Garcia fears that the other side of the argument may be better than his own side and feels the need to tell it to shut up.

I have a feeling McCarthy was onto something and possibly hindered those undercover commies in the State Dept and other federal institutions. I think the US was back then – as it is now – infiltrated by all kinds of lefties actively working to turn the Republic into a socialist regime. Only a small part of those were dealt with back then and they are tolerated – to say the least – now.

  • Jim Davis

    …how much like Eugene McCarthy…

    Surely you meant Joseph McCarthy?

  • Dick Eagleson

TGeorge is right. There were plenty of “witches” in the U.S. Department of State and elsewhere in the U.S. government of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Many were also active Soviet assets, Alger Hiss being the most famous.

  • wayne

    Dick–
    Good stuff.

    see:

    https://www.nsa.gov/news-features/declassified-documents/venona/
“The mission of this small program was to examine and exploit Soviet diplomatic communications but after the program began, the message traffic included espionage efforts as well.”

    TGeorge-
Oh yeah– our federal government has been infiltrated by communists, since the 1920’s. When FDR expanded the federal government’s role into literally everything during the 1930’s, they all became firmly entrenched and have never left. (see above)

    Cotour–
What’s with this “squad” crap-o-la? Don’t buy into the made-up narrative.
It’s nothing but the fake-media talking to each other.
The only cute little names I want to hear, are the ones Trump assigns to his political enemies.

    Edward–
I finally watched that entire hearing on C-SPAN; it was their usual fake-hearing, made-up Event, designed for news bites. None of these clowns actually wanted their questions answered.

  • Cotour

    Wayne:

The term “The Squad” is a negative name given to these young Leftist ladies of the Congress by I believe, Nancy Pelosi herself. Its the Democrats own expression of frustration and an attempt to isolate them.

But that is not what is happening, Pelosi will be forced to further defend them. The Congress as we speak is formulating a formal rejection of the presidents calling these posers out for what they are, Marxist based operatives who propose Communism as the solution for all of Americas problems.

I say help them bury themselves as much as possible with their own terminology. For that is the only way, along with the genuine, Trump bull in a China shop style is what will defeat them in the manner that they need to be defeated.

  • Cotour

I just heard an interview where the “Squad” actually referred to themselves as the “Squad”.

So it is either a badge that they themselves have coined or a term they have adopted.

Either way, the “Squad” defines themselves and they are what they are, radicals and philosophical Marxists who cover themselves by also referring to themselves as “Democrat Socialists”. They figure that as long as the word “Democrat” is included in how they define themselves that no one can “see” what they really are.

So foolish and naive, and that will in the end be its own reward.

The theme was the best part of that show, great! Ah, the memories.

In the newest version AOC is of course the Peggy Lipton of the “Squad”, you know why, because she is sooo cute.

And the “Linc” character is of course played by Rasheda Tliab. An uncanny resemblance between the two, (sorry Clearance).

And the Teig Andrews charter is played by Ilhan Ohmar. Throw a turban on his head and who could tell the difference between the two.

Those are really the stars of this operation and the TV show.

POLITICAL LABELS, DISRESPECTFUL? I DON’T THINK SO.

A good friend of mine dislikes when I use labels to define people related to politics.

I label and make distinctions between people and what they say they think they think, and the various political movements in our country. He believes that to label someone related to their political affiliations is disrespectful. I strongly disagree, my position is that in politics and in life in general it is wise to understand what the people you deal and associate with think and why they think that way.

The “Labels” are words and words have very specific meanings. And this is a key to the current clash of political philosophies we have going on today because the more Left oriented among us attempt to redefine these words and terms that nail down what and who they are and what their actual intent is. These political operators seek to make fluid and harmless these definitions and terms so as to make those who hear them believe that they are not as threatening as they in fact are.

This technique has all been defined as a codified political strategy of conquest by none other than Saul Alynski, the inventor of the term “Community organizer” in his seminal book “Rules For Radicals”. If you have never heard of him please feel free to look him up and further educate yourself. Saul Alynski was a radical, an organizational genius of sorts and a writer who did not belong to a political party, even any of the ones he helped create.

In general the Labels I use and what they in fact mean:

Democratic Socialism: a political movement advocating a gradual and peaceful transition from capitalism to socialism by democratic means. (This is the newly coined and theoretically more palatable label that the far Left / Socialists / Marxists that are dominating the Democrat party at the moment use in order to create a feeling of non threatening acceptability to the general American public.)

Socialist: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

Liberalism: a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties. Such a philosophy that considers government as a crucial instrument for amelioration of social inequities (such as those involving race, gender, or class).

Marxist: the political, economic, and social principles and policies advocated by Marx. A theory and practice of socialism including the labor theory of value, dialectical materialism, the class struggle, and dictatorship of the proletariat until the establishment of a classless society.

Leftist: someone who espouses Socialist / Marxist doctrine where the state is primary.

Capitalism: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

If you notice all but one of these political philosophies or “labels” insists that the means of production or ownership be moved to government control or outright governmental ownership. In other words the end to private property in America, and the concept of private property is one of the foundation tenets of the American Constitution. No private property, no Constitution. And so anyone who proposes a “New” or reconfigured “re imagined” political model where the government becomes the “Owner” or primary controller of private property is by definition a Marxist or is a Leftist and is anti American.

So, labels, are they necessary? I have to say that they are essential in understanding peoples intents related to the political power that they are involved in attempting to acquire or retaining. So, labels, yes, labels. Labels with well understood definitions so no one can endeavor to fool another.

So given what you have just read, please help me define what the Democrat party has turned into. And if you define yourself as a Democrat, is this really what you believe? Do you agree that the means of production or the right to private property must now revert to the government or state control or ownership?

No? Of course not, that would be un American and you are an American. JGL

They are the Gang of Four.

“In 1981, the four deposed [Chinese communist] leaders were subjected to a show trial and convicted of anti-party activities. During the trial, Jiang Qing in particular was extremely defiant, protesting loudly and bursting into tears at some points. She was the only member of the Gang of Four who bothered to argue on her behalf.

The defenses’ argument was that she obeyed the orders of Chairman Mao Zedong* at all times.
[[boy, doesn’t this sound familiar? she was only obeying orders….]]
Zhang Chunqiao refused to admit any wrongdoing. Yao Wenyuan and Wang Hongwen expressed repentance and confessed their alleged crimes.”

“Jiang Qing and Zhang Chunqiao received death sentences that were later commuted to life imprisonment, while Wang Hongwen and Yao Wenyuan were given life and twenty years in prison, respectively. All members of the Gang of Four have since died; Jiang Qing committed suicide in 1991, Wang Hongwen died in 1992, and Yao Wenyuan and Zhang Chunqiao died in 2005, having been released from prison in 1996 and 1998, respectively
