Good news for wind power: A new study suggests that building wind turbines is a far greater problem to birds than actually operating them.

The uncertainty of science, however: the study also showed a wide range of effects, depending on bird species.

  • I must admit to more than a little schadenfreunde as I watch the increasing pressure environmental groups are bringing against wind power. Yes, they were for it before they were against it. There exists a well-understood, bird-friendly technology that generates copious amounts of baseline power, but you’ll never get a neopagan to say the N-word.

Sort of like the push to use plastic bags to save the trees. The only thing I know for sure about global warming is that the environmentalists suck at finding “solutions”.
