My February birthday fund-raising campaign for this website, Behind the Black, is now over. Despite a relatively weak initial three weeks, the last week was spectacular, making this campaign the second best ever.

Thanks to every person who donated or subscribed. It continues to astonish me that people who can read my work for free like it enough to donate money voluntarily. Words cannot express my appreciation for that support, especially in these uncertain times.

If you have been a regular reader and a fan of my work and have not yet donated or subscribed, please consider doing so. I take no ads, I keep the website clean from pop-ups and annoying demands (most of the time). Thus, I depend entirely on my readers to support me. Though this means I am sacrificing some income, it also means that I remain entirely independent from outside pressure. By depending solely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, no one can threaten me with censorship. You don't like what I write, you can simply go elsewhere.

You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation:

4. A Paypal subscription:

5. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

Inaugural event organizer to bring charges against leftists for their terrorism threats

Pushback: The organizer of the inaugural ball event that leftist groups were filmed planning a terrorist attack against announced tonight that they are filing charges.

They made a real big mistake,” [organizer Mike] Cernovich said about the ‘Disrupt J-20’ organizers. “When you’re threatened with terrorism, and you have people saying they’re going to commit terrorism at a party you’re hosting, you have to take that quite seriously.”

“They seem to think it is just a prank, and I would refer them to the Dept. of Justice’s website — This is actually a felony,” he continued. “This isn’t funny at all. It is terrorism… We have filed a criminal complaint against the conspirators, and the FBI is investigating that right now. Tomorrow we will be filing a civil action against them also. Against the domestic terrorists who purchased tickets… This is a criminal conspiracy to commit terrorism, and we are treating it like the serious criminal conspiracy that it is.”

Cernovich also notes that the three leftists caught on camera had already bought tickets to his event, so he can document that they planned to come. The video proves they planned an attack. Combined, this evidence exposes them and makes them very vulnerable to both criminal charges and civil suits.

For too many decades the left has been allowed to get away with these kinds of illegal and sometimes violent behavior. It is time they learned that they can’t do that any longer.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Excellent! These brats have been out of control far to long and have faced no consequences for their actions. If the Left is made to pay the price for all of the cheating and illegal activities that take place as their means of retaining power, they will soon be out of business. As a law abiding citizen, I can’t wait.

  • Jim Jakoubek

The trouble is and has been that every time these fools pull stunts like this they start hiding behind
their rights, throwing labels at people and they are allowed to get away with it.

When there are no consequences for your behavior and you know that you can intimidate people
by calling them racists and (put your favorite here)-phobes, then said behavior only gets worse.

Here is hoping that we finally will have a President that will not put up with this and have the
backbone to tell them enough and start making them pay for the things they do with a bit of jail
    time.

The Real Clear Politics website is breaking my browser this morning, so excuse a question that might have been addressed in the original article.

Why aren’t the Authorities bringing charges?

    Al & Jim:
    Good stuff.

  • Wayne: Both the Project Veritas video and the article state that the authorities have been contacted and are reviewing the evidence. Assuming that they aren’t trying to stonewall, it will take a few days at least for them to move. There are also more videos coming.

  • Cotour

Why have things like this not gone anywhere before? Because of the administration in power. Thats about to change, they actually have something to fear now.

There is a line between just talk / free speech and conspiracy, these people certainly appear to be conspirators to me. I have a couple of friends going to the inauguration and I will report what really went on after the fact.

  • wayne

    Mr. Z– thank you.

    Cotour–
    right on!

These people seem to think they can conspire & plot with absolute impunity.
This type of stuff is highly illegal and has been so for a long, long time. (Whenever they cross State lines in furtherance of their conspiracy(s), that alone is a Federal Felony. Not to mention utilizing “telecommunications,” which is also a crime. )

    >>AG Session’s will know how to address this crap-o-la, you can bet on that!

Anyone remember the constant public calls to assassinate Bush?

(In my World, people that do that stuff, get picked up on a 72 hour psychiatric hold & the Secret Service comes to visit you.)

  • Edward II

Follow the money. When the trail leads to Soros, indict him.

  • Steve Earle

    Edward II said:
“…Follow the money. When the trail leads to Soros, indict him….”

EXACTLY! Stop Soros and you stop the Lions share of the money behind this crap. He crossed the line between advocacy and crime a long time ago and it’s past time he be held accountable.

  • Steve wrote, ” Stop Soros and you stop the Lions share of the money behind this crap.”

Sigh. Let us please not become fascists ourselves. Unless you can prove that George Soros funded an actual terrorist act, he has as much right to protest or disagree with the right as you have to disagree with the left. He also has the right to use his money as he sees fit to promote the causes he believes in. And at the moment, as far as I can tell, no one has actually brought forth any evidence that Soros has done anything illegal.

If we start advocating the silencing of our opponents because we don’t like them, then what makes us different than the fascists on the left?

  • Steve Earle

Robert, as has been famously said: “Our Constitution is not a suicide pact”. Soros has certainly funded groups calling for and committing acts of violence, the only unanswered question is whether he did that knowingly. Considering that he has continued to fund such groups even AFTER they have been violent should be more than enough for an investigation….

I am not advocating having Brownshirts kick in his door and haul him off to the Gulag, but I am saying we should exercise due diligence and as Edward II said above: “follow the money”

Hungary is doing just that now, as is Macedonia. We should also take a long look at just what his money is funding. To call any effort to stop him from funding violence as “Fascism” is to play right into the hands of the Alinskyites and Soros himself.

While you are correct that Soros can say what he wants and spend his money on what he wants, those Freedoms have limits. It is only common sense that yelling Fire in a Theater is a crime, it is also a crime to hire a hitman or to pay to have someone beaten or threatened.

As far as proof of criminal behaviour, you can’t have proof without either a competent investigation or a competent press…. Well so far Soros has been protected by the shield of the Politically Correct Left and a willing media (who have no problem printing unfounded allegations against the “Evil Koch Brothers” and demanding for them to be investigated.

With Soros, I would submit that there is more than enough Smoke to start looking for a Fire.

Do you honestly think he doesn’t know who and what he is funding? What their goals are, what their preferred methods are? We are not talking about sending some cases of water to a peaceful protest…..

Is it fascist to call for evil to be stopped before even more innocents are hurt or killed?

The man has a past of manipulating currencies and trying to crash whole economies in his One-World quest, and now he is directly funding groups that openly call for violent crimes to be committed. For me, that is more than enough to justify calls to “stop” him.

  • wayne

I do understand where Mr. Z is coming from.
    Concurrently,
    > I know exactly what Steve Earle means.

Considering… most Americans violate at least one Federal Law, per day*. I would find it hard to believe that something couldn’t be hanged on Soros, to throw even a small wrench in his nefarious activities.
He shouldn’t be targeted for his political belief’s, but he should be investigated for past activities.

*Can’t find a supporting link off hand. The people at CATO have done research on this topic, and the number could be as high as 3 per day.

  • Steve Earle

Thanks Wayne. It’s the age old question, where do rights end and responsibility begin?

Or, as the Libertarians put it: You have the right to swing your fist through the air as much as you want until that moment that it intersects my nose……

Soros has certainly exercised his Rights, no question about that, but he has also never been held responsible for the violent consequences of him doing so.

IMHO, when you finance people who are openly calling for dead Cops, dead politicians, and violent overthrow of peaceful governments, you are just as guilty as they are when said violence actually occurs.

  • wayne

Steve– you are a “regular-American,” so I know what you meant. As well, Mr. Z. is pretty consistent in warning about “turning into them,” and having too much fun extracting retribution from the opposing side, lest it slip into witch-huntery, pitch-forks, tar & feathers.

I’d just say– this sorta illustrates the vital importance of maintaining a fair & consistent Rule of Law applicable to everyone equally.
Our Justice Department at the Federal level, has been highly politicized the last 7 years, and that sorta-thing is highly corrosive to our system and general way of life.

  • Steve Earle

Wayne and Mr Z., you both have valid points and I would normally agree that “we” don’t ever want to become “them”

But….. I will repeat what I said above: Our Constitution was never meant to be a suicide pact.

And…. I will repeat my question from above: Does anyone here honestly believe that Soros is just another partisan hack exercising his Freedom of Speech? Does anyone here honestly believe that Soros is not knowingly using his money to support violent criminal behaviour if not the actual violent overthrow of Governments he doesn’t like?

He is not “Useful Idiot” Mr Global Warming Tom Steyer, he is not the “Evil” PBS Supporting Koch Brothers, he is not Michael Moore making movies and looking for cameras to preach to.

He is an entirely different animal.

IMHO he is an existential threat to the Rule of Law. And I don’t believe I am overstating that….

“For Evil to win all that is necessary is for good men to do nothing”

  • wayne

    Steve–
    Good stuff!
Understand exactly, from where you come, and agree in Yuuuge measure. And agree 110% that the Constitution should not be a suicide pact.

I’d pivot to the Filibuster “Rule,” as well. Mitch McConnell is fully prepared to blow it all.

Soros is a Nazi-collaborator & a nefarious operator, from way back. I would shed no tears if he was found dead.
Of what Country, is he a citizen?

  • Steve: You accuse Soros of a lot of evil stuff, but you don’t provide any evidence. Show me proof that he did something illegal, such as financing violent protests or attacks, then you’d have my full agreement. Right now, however, you just sound like a name-calling liberal out to destroy someone who disagrees with you.

In fact, as far as I have seen, every attack on Soros has been the same as yours. I have not found any of them to be convincing.

  • wayne

One thing I do know– Soros was convicted of insider trader. So he can accurately be referred to as a criminal.

It would of course, be unfair to accuse him of being a Nazi collaborator.

  • PeterF

    Wayne,
Soros WAS a Nazi collaborator. That has been well documented and he gets a pass because he was just a Jewish kid surviving the holocaust. Should have had his head shaved after the liberation…
He is known as the “Man who broke the bank of England”. As far as I know he is unable to travel anywhere because of the extradition requests for his attendance of multiple arraignments to be held in his honor.
The CIA was all for him when he was crashing the economies of former soviet block countries.
He said; “that was a lot of fun!”.

–you don’t have to convince me!
He’s apparently a naturalized American citizen. I’d review his application, to start.

  • Steve Earle

Again: Proof (of lack thereof…) is the end result of an investigation. Reasonable Suspicion is enough to trigger said investigation.

    Here is some Reasonable Suspicion:
    BLM
“…That funding comes in addition to more than $33 million in grants to the Black Lives Matter movement from top Democratic Party donor George Soros through his Open Society Foundations…”
    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/aug/16/black-lives-matter-cashes-100-million-liberal-foun/

    Occupy Wall Street
“…Soros and the protesters deny any connection. But Reuters did find indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada which started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring type uprising against Wall Street…”
    http://www.reuters.com/article/us-wallstreet-protests-origins-idUSTRE79C1YN20111014

There’s two groups which have not only committed numerous crimes, but openly called for violence and killing of Police and Corporate CEO’s. Several deaths have directly occurred because of these violent protesters.

That was a 5 second Google search. It is not my job to investigate Soros, but I certainly feel justified in calling for a full-blown investigation of his shadowy network extending from the “Open Society Institute”.

My original post was not clear in that I only said he needed to be “stopped”. I still stand by that sentiment, but will again clarify that I meant with legal means via a Grand Jury, a Special Prosecutor, or at the very least, a couple of seasoned Financial and/or Domestic Terrorist Investigators.

I believe the dots are all there, the only thing stopping the connection of those dots is the all-powerful Left. BLM and Occupy are the darlings of the Media and the Democrats. The guy also has direct connections to Obama and helped him get his start as a “Community Organizer”. No investigator is going to poke that bees nest unless ordered to…

This is not some flaky rich guy buying snacks and printing signs, he is paying the salaries for some very bad people and giving them the money to hire other very bad people all the while knowing full well what they are doing and worse, what they plan to do.

  • wayne

Correct Peter, Soros has been a disgrace to humanity and a criminal from a very early age. I will call him what he is: EVIL

    Robert Zimmerman said:
“…Right now, however, you just sound like a name-calling liberal out to destroy someone who disagrees with you…”

Unlike the Left, I am usually very careful about name-calling. There are plenty of people who I disagree with, who ALL of us here deeply disagree with. This man is different….

He is not Hillary, Obama, Reid, Pelosi, or any other Left politician or useful idiot. They want money and power, not the downfall of Western Civilization itself.

Soros is different. He is EVIL, and he is a very real threat to the underpinnings of our society. To him, money and power are not an end, they are simply a means he can use towards his goal:

George Soros wrote in The Age of Fallibility: Consequences of the War on Terror:
“ The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States.[25] ”

In his book Open Society: Reforming Global Capitalism, he spells out his criticism:
“ It may be shocking to say, but I believe that the current unilateralist posture of the United States constitutes a serious threat to the peace and prosperity of the world.[25] ”

In his 1991 book Underwriting Democracy, Soros said:
“ If truth be known, I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood,” fantasies which “I wanted to indulge … to the extent that I could afford.”[23] ”

As a career cop, I try very hard not to engage in hyperbole and/or name-calling. And I am well aware of the danger of finger pointing without justification. In this case I feel I am calling him exactly what he is: EVIL

If that makes me a Fascist, or a demagogue so be it. In this case I will take the Label.

For my son’s sake and for my country’s sake, this man must be stopped before he is able to fulfill his dream of setting our cities on fire, or worse, permanently shifting us away from the Rule of Law and into a new age of the Rule of Man.

George Soros’ quiet overhaul of the U.S. justice system:
Progressives have zeroed in on electing prosecutors as an avenue for criminal justice reform, and the billionaire financier is providing the cash to make it happen
