Opportunity breaks Soviet record

With a drive of 157 feet yesterday, the Mars rover Opportunity broke the Soviet record, set by Lunokhod 2 in 1973, for the longest distance traveled by a vehicle on another planet.

    Capitalism trumps Communism once again, only took 40 years.

    It would seem that this great little machine has probably broken other records too, It is wonderful that it has outlasted its mission profile by at least ten years and has paid its keep.
