Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Shutdown fascism: The Obama administration is now beginning to reinforce the barricades at the World War II memorial to prevent access.

Why is this madness beginning to remind me of the Berlin Wall?

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

Petulant Dems must make this shut down, which is a tool that is given to the Congress by the Founders in the Constitution to counter balance the presidents power, as painful as they possibly can without appearing petulant. If you were to listen to the talking heads on radio and unsettled politicians you would think that what is going on is a complete violation of the Constitution and that the people executing it had taken over the Congress through force.

    THIS IS OUR SYSTEM!

This is what make it unique / exceptional, it is designed this way for a reason. The president does not get to do as he pleases, he is forced to negotiate with people who disagree with him.

This is commitment to fundamental change, the “progressive” way. This is also what appears to be going to happen in NYC where DeBlasio is polling to win by a wide margin. Obama has of course blessed him. I spoke to friend the other night who is plugged in and they said that a liberal who knows and is involved in NYC politics that has worked with DeBlasio said that he (the friend) was left but DeBlasio was way, way left of him and he was very concerned. The main concern being that the police will now be defanged as they relate to criminals, which is beginning to be seen now in NYC. Familiarize yourself with the Stop and Frisk controversy in NYC. A version of Stop and Frisk is what needs to be implemented in Chicago to straighten their situation out. But that can never be done because of the temporary Constitutional violations that may occur TO CAREER CRIMINALS terrorizing tax paying, peaceful citizens! This is the insanity of the Liberal / Marxist mind, it really is an illness.

People of this age, between 50 and 65 are of a generation that has seen abuses of power by our government and are fully indoctrinated and trained Marxists / Socialists / “Progressives”. This is their time and moment in the sun, just step back and watch them shine. Only one thing, they do not find the contents of the Constitution of much value except that it becomes the vehicle that contains the means of its disassembly.
These idealists intellectualize reality and leave the lessons of history as it relates to the nature of man and the abuse of power behind. This IMO is a short sighted fools errand and will prove to be a very dangerous path to follow. The people who vote for these kinds of people, along with the rest of us will learn a hard lesson. We live in reality, not in an intellectualized reality.

Unfortunately, we have no Reagan to stand in front of the WWII Memorial and exclaim, “Mr. Obama, tear down this wall.”

I would take Reagan but would prefer Washington.
