California police raid home, confiscate guns, from man who tried to register AR-15
Fascist California: Police raided the home and confiscated the guns of a man who had made a sincere effort to follow new California laws requiring the registration of his AR-15.
The man also now faces a dozen felony charges.
Jeffrey Scott Kirschenmann attempted to register an AR-15 with the California Department of Justice last month but instead found himself in significant legal trouble. The California DOJ accused Kirschenmann of illegally modifying the rifle he attempted to register. Law enforcement officials raided his home in Bakersfield before ultimately confiscating a dozen firearms and a few hundred rounds of ammunition, then charging him with a dozen felonies, KGET reports. Kirschenmann was accused of possession of assault weapons, two silencers, and something referred to as a “multi-burst trigger activator.” He does not appear to have been charged with any violent crimes.
All this does is drive decent ordinary gun-owners underground. It makes them criminals for doing nothing morally wrong, and thus a target that the state can now oppress.

Your support allows me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.
In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Here , in sunny Florida, I sleep peacefully in an area where all my neighbors are armed to the teeth. The big boogey man here is not my fellow neighbors, rather “Hi , were here from the guvment, and we’re here to help. BTW. got any guns?”
Meanwhile Madame Defarge continues her knitting…
Somebody, for the love of &diety, please, PLEASE define WTF an “assault weapon’ is beyond, ‘a gun that I think looks scary’. I’ve been shooting for over fifty years, was on the rifle and pistol teams in ROTC and college and spent a quarter century where the employment of firearms was central to my profession and I can’t tell you! (an assault rifle on the other hand, can be defined as a shoulder arm firing intermediate power cartridges and capable of semi and fully automatic fire – and I am willing to bet any amount of money that the weapons in this case do NOT meet that definition)
From the article:
All California has to do is create two laws whose compliance are mutually exclusive, and the Second Amendment becomes moot. California is experienced in this, or at least South Lake Tahoe is. There were two conflicting laws, one where pine needles around houses needed to be cleared to provide a defensible space, and another where pine needles were to be left alone for environmental preservation reasons. If you cleared the pine needles then you got fined, and if you didn’t, you got fined.
Col Beausabre,
An alternate definition of “assault rifle” is any gun (handgun included) that the left wants to confiscate. They were successful with automatic weapons, now they are after the semi-automatic weapons (which they occasionally call automatic, just to make them more scary and worthy of confiscation). [No sarcasm, here, even though it may seem to be.]
I noticed that “assault rifles” are now being called “assault weapons.” Soon kitchen knives will fall under this “assault weapon” category in order to control their possession, just as is happening in London. Nail clippers and blunt objects will undoubtedly soon follow. Wait until the left realizes that someone can be killed by using bare hands. [Again: no sarcasm, though it may seem to be.]
I would love to comment on this better but actual details are a little thin.
Does the state county or local outlaw silencers? Were the silencers home made and unregistered?
A string can be (and has been by the ATF) made into and called a trigger activator. What exactly did they find? A lightning link or a ball of string?
As for an illegally modified AR15 he might have changed it from or never changed it to California compliant. Or California changed its compliance laws and he didn’t know.
A “multi-burst trigger activator”. The words of a true ignoramus.
Probably talking about a binary trigger, echo trigger, or something akin to that. Completely legal in most states. I don’t know about California law.
If illegal aliens who report crimes are given amnesty and protected from prosecution, perhaps the same principle should extend to gun owners who go to the police attempting to comply with the law.
The state claims prosecuting illegal aliens who report crimes would cause others to leave crimes unreported. This helps criminals get away with their crimes, and makes it harder for cops to catch criminals.
Similarly, if the state want’s AR-15 owners to come in and register their rifles, won’t prosecuting a citizen who attempted to register his AR-15 have a chilling effect on all that?
