Readers! A November fund-raising drive!

It is unfortunately time for another November fund-raising campaign to support my work here at Behind the Black. I really dislike doing these, but 2025 is so far turning out to be a very poor year for donations and subscriptions, the worst since 2020. I very much need your support for this webpage to survive.

And I think I provide real value. Fifteen years ago I said SLS was garbage and should be cancelled. Almost a decade ago I said Orion was a lie and a bad idea. As early as 1998, long before almost anyone else, I predicted in my first book, Genesis: The Story of Apollo 8, that private enterprise and freedom would conquer the solar system, not government. Very early in the COVID panic and continuing throughout I noted that every policy put forth by the government (masks, social distancing, lockdowns, jab mandates) was wrong, misguided, and did more harm than good. In planetary science, while everyone else in the media still thinks Mars has no water, I have been reporting the real results from the orbiters now for more than five years, that Mars is in fact a planet largely covered with ice.

I could continue with numerous other examples. If you want to know what others will discover a decade hence, read what I write here at Behind the Black. And if you read my most recent book, Conscious Choice, you will find out what is going to happen in space in the next century.

This last claim might sound like hubris on my part, but I base it on my overall track record.

So please consider donating or subscribing to Behind the Black, either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. I could really use the support at this time. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation. Takes about a 10% cut.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription, which takes about a 15% cut:

4. Donate by check. I get whatever you donate. Make the check payable to Robert Zimmerman and mail it to

You can also support me by buying one of my books, as noted in the boxes interspersed throughout the webpage or shown in the menu above.

Fired for using the wrong word

Fascists: A student government representative was removed from his position at George Mason University because he used the word “illegal” in writing about his opposition to giving illegal immigrants state tuition aid.

GMU’s student body president, Philip Abbruscato, released [an] official message on Sunday boasting of the school’s “thousands of unique voices” and the student government’s “variety of backgrounds, cultures, ideologies, academic interests, and more.” Abbruscato also said that “demeaning” remarks from members of GMU’s student government would “not be tolerated at any level regardless of belief,” and removed Paglia from his position on Feb., 20. “While we all live in a society that permits us to express our opinions, we must also recognize that we live with the consequences of their impact on those we represent. [emphasis mine]

In other words, according to this fascist, you have freedom of speech as long as you don’t say anything that he disagrees with.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Thing like this are outrages! It might have gone better for him if he used the term “out of compliance immigrants”, which should actually be “out of compliance ILLEGAL immigrants!”

Consider this: The president has attached to the Home Land Security funding bill monies to move ahead with what is in my opinion (and previously his) his Un Constitutional immigration give away and legalization. The Senate has come up with a clean bill and will move it to the House Of Representatives which will potentially agree to fund the un Constitutional action of the president attached to this bill. Treason IMO.

Now consider the release the other day of the discovery of three Jihadi operators discovered in America just before the passing of the illegal funding bill which is all focused around legalizing a vast number of people who will when given drivers licences will eventually vote.

And this is all being pushed over the line by the “fear” that has been created in the media with the express purpose of getting the bill signed and funded.

This is 1. the moment that the republican party will be destroyed and 2. The moment where the world and America will be pushed over the line where the peoples Constitution becomes the governments Constitution. This is the One World Government dream of G. Bush and those who follow the agendas greatest moment. Not mine.

I suspect that holding people accountable for demeaning speech is a one way street.

And I support my thoughts here with the reality that is Barak Hussein Obama and the people who follow and fund him and the actions taken previously that has lead up to this:

    4. “Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”
    ― Benjamin Franklin

Fear is the tool that the government intends to usurp the American peoples freedoms, step back and put all of what has been happening in our country together for the past 30 years to today and where we find ourselves. From Regans second term and G. Bush seniors 1000 points of light speech, to Clintons actions, to G. Bush juniors actions, to 911, to every action B. Obama has taken and everything that he has said including his stated intent to transform America, to you didn’t build that, to we need to redistribute Americas wealth, to the inclusion and enriching of illegal immigrants, to the now banning of ammunition for the AR 15 by executive order, and on and on it goes.

This next day in the Congress will tell the tale of what America will be. Be outraged and let us not be naive.

I prefer the phrase “misdemeanant immigrant,” as it is more accurate, thus is more demeaning, as the criminal should be considered.

Once again, we are faced with the problem of someone’s rights, protected by the First Amendment, being violated just so someone else won’t feel bad. In this case, however, that someone else deserves to feel bad, as his actions are illegal and antisocial.

If you can’t stand the shame, don’t commit the crime.

Law breakers are law breakers and must be acknowledged as such. When we coddle them, they begin to commit more and higher crimes, until someone is murdered. San Francisco has had this problem with the same ungrateful misdemeanant aliens for whom it provides sanctuary turning themselves into felons and murderers. The city has yet to learn the folly of its policy, however.

This is the direction that tyranny takes when we fail to nip it in the bud. Because we were not vigilant several years ago, we are facing a struggle to regain our Constitutionally guaranteed rights from yet another government official who thinks that he is free to violate our rights at his pleasure.

Like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, offense of speech is in the ear of the listener. If your rap singer, Democrat, or Rev. Wright / Al Sharpton you’re nearly untouchable for hate speech. Others are held to a higher Standard.
The new politically correct term for illegal alien, as used today by the government, is

    “citizens in waiting”

More timely fear reinforcement pumped into the willing media by a government agency in order to ensure the funding of the un Constitutionally configured Home Land Security bill, total manipulation :
