Readers!

My July fund-raising campaign to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary since I began Behind the Black is now over. I want to thank all those who so generously donated or subscribed, especially those who have become regular supporters. I can't do this without your help. I also find it increasingly hard to express how much your support means to me. God bless you all!

The donations during this year's campaign were sadly less than previous years, but for this I blame myself. I am tired of begging for money, and so I put up the campaign announcement at the start of the month but had no desire to update it weekly to encourage more donations, as I have done in past years. This lack of begging likely contributed to the drop in donations.

No matter. I am here, and here I intend to stay. If you like what I do and have not yet donated or subscribed, please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription:

4. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

In the utopian model structured under Obamacare the government tells you how much you will be paid and you are to be happy with it. Individuals naturally act in their own self interest, people don’t need to be told or organized in order for them to act in regards to that interest. Its interesting to see this happening in California, maybe they are all not as crazy as they seem.

Contour, don’t fool yourself. I live in California and the people here are as crazy as they seem.

Over the long term, the doctors will be forced to participate in Obamacare. If not voluntarily, then involuntarily. It is inevitable given the path this nation is on.

Cotour, you have described the free market system. Of course doctors don’t want to participate in a fiasco that will screw them. Who would?

Oh, wait. Bush destroyed the free market in order to save the free market. I am still waiting for it to be saved. mpthompson may be right, that with the free market being dead, the doctors may not be free to avoid getting screwed. In California or anywhere in the US. After all, who would have thought just six years ago that government could legally coerce us to buy something whether we wanted it or not?

HOW SILLY IS THE EXTREME RADICAL *ENVIRO* LEFT?

The French government will restart 32 nuclear reactors that generate actual electricity as this winter approaches and Putin is seen to likely be throttling Europe’s access to Russian energy. Putin plays chess. Putin has a rational strategy regarding things that he controls, and he can use to his advantage. People in the EU are certain to die this winter as a result of their leaderships incompetence and weakness.

And Trump regarding Putin and Europe’s access to energy from Russia? He was 100% correct about the dire situation the geniuses in the many EU countries have put themselves in being so heavily dependent on Russia (And Putin) for their energy!

And remember, they all laughed at him and were outraged that he would say such a thing right to their faces. Just like so many other issues he was and remains correct about.

If the French have decided to restart their reactors, which obviously means that they have already shut them down, likely pandering to the irrational “Climate Change” / “Save The Planet” / Authoritarian Leftists and Democrats in the EU and America who live in an AOC fantasy reality.

You cannot force a drastic change in energy production and use when there is no viable alternative technology available to take up the slack. It is stupid, it is deadly, and it is a threat to civilization.

Transition to cleaner sources of energy through technology in time? Yes, absolutely. But not in a span of two years as is being attempted by the authoritarian Left. And that is what comes along with this fantasy, authoritarianism. For everyone’s own good of course. You being child like are unqualified to determine what is best for you and your life.

YOU WILL COMPLY. It may cost you your livelihood and or your life, but you will comply.
