Another look at the BLM’s range war with the last remaining rancher in Nevada.
Another look at the BLM’s range war with the last remaining rancher in Nevada.
“Years ago, I used to have 52 neighboring ranchers,” [rancher Cliven Bundy] said. “I’m the last man standing. How come? Because BLM regulated these people off the land and out of business.” This is why the whole question of whether he “paid his fees” is a red herring. The government changed the rules in an effort to drive people like him out of business. Even if he had paid them, he’d still have had to break their rules to survive. That’s the position they put him in. Obey our silly, arbitrary rules designed to protect a desert tortoise that no one can show he’s hurting in any way or give up your way of life.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

It’s not the tortoise. It’s a Chinese owned solar farm deal.
Some day, if we allow it, we will all be “out of compliance” with the government and the U.N., all of us will be illegal and living in fear of the knock on the door.
He won for the moment, lets see what goes on in the future.
A Harry Reid chinese solar farm? I wonder what else Reid is hiding out there. I’m thinking a secret landing site for his space alien brethren.
I do not agree with this ranchers approach to his problem.
Nor do I agree with the ‘friends’ of his that showed up and helped him out.
Nor do I agree with the BLM in its policy towards the ranchers of America. It seems that the only reason they exist is to regulate ranchers. And we all know what happens when someones job is to regulate something. They do it the best they can, adding regulations as if it was a sign that they were doing a good job and thus justifying their own employment.
Like teachers regulating teachers and lawyers regulating lawyers I think we need to make it policy if not law that BLM employees need to be ranchers and or farmers from the area they plan to work.
People can be taught to protect wildlife but it seems like they can not be taught how to protect our farms and ranches.
The BLN dropped the ball on handling this situation from the start of it, 20 years ago. They need to prove that their anti cattle policy is having the effect they were hoping for. Saving the Desert Tortoise. If it is not then they need to change policy.
Bundy’s approach is the only approach that let any ranchers continue ranching. The other 50 ranchers are now gone.
Sometimes civil disobedience is the way to make changes, but you have to be willing to pay the price. For Martin Luther King, that price was occasional jail time. For Bundy, it was court costs. The reward for both was relief from freedom-robbing government policies.
The people are not to break the law but this SOB can lie and scheme along with the rest of this “most transparent administration” who breaks law like they were breaking wind!

What vial creatures empowered politicians are, the founders knew well what they were designing to counter act. The Liberal / Marxist will pay a steep price when this turns.
Oh no, wait, Hillary is going to be president, cancel that.
I again support my point regarding lies and blatant manipulation by this the most transparent administration:

Nothing to see here, move along.
I am with Edward on this. This story exposes the abuses of big government or any level of government in this country. If you ever had a problem with regulations on even a local level, you will soon find out that you will not be listened to. Here’s a good question – why do so many of our government agencies have an armed force?
In light of recent events where knives were used in violence and murder as in this example in Canada, at what point will it be governments responsibility to relieve its citizens of any and all sharp objects? Government must keep you “safe” so any and all of your rights are up for cancellation and or negotiation.
Micheal Bloomberg said that he will spend 50 million dollars to challenge the NRA and make them fear as they make politicians fear. George Washington said that when everyone is armed it creates an atmosphere of tolerance and understanding. Everyone is well mannered, including government.

Regulation, even at the expense of basic freedoms being the obvious answer to all issues in the eyes of the government.
