Judicial Watch today released newly obtained internal IRS documents, including material revealing that Sen. John McCain’s former staff director and chief counsel on the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee, Henry Kerner, urged top IRS officials, including then-director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner, to “audit so many that it becomes financially ruinous.” [emphasis mine]
Want to what really stinks about this? The meeting where McCain’s staffer suggested this came only ten days before Lois Lerner “admitted that the IRS had a policy of improperly and deliberately delaying applications for tax-exempt status from conservative non-profit groups.” In other words, McCain was all-in with the idea of weaponizing the IRS for political purposes.
Want to know what stinks even more? Henry Kerner was appointed by President Trump in 2017 to take over the Office of Special Council, a federal office focused on protecting whistleblowers while acting as a watchdog to prevent partisan political action by government agencies, in violation of the Hatch Act.
Boy, that sure is draining the swamp, President Trump. Keep at it!

This starts to make sense with what ranchers in SE AZ and SW NM told me about meetings with McCain on border issues: they were not impressed with McCain.
The swamp is far deeper than anyone can imagine! And every country has a swamp!
Consider that the persecution of dissidents started long before this meeting though. We don’t know if McCain was part of the kick off of the program.
With a report coming out condemning the IRS and just a week and a half before Lerner planted a question at an event, we also need to consider that McCain’s inclusion could have been an effort to make the IRS abuses bi-partisan as a shield from anyone looking into the genesis at the white house.
Sort of like the meeting with a Russian lawyer and Trump Jr was arranged to give the appearance of Russian collusion when in fact the Russian lawyer was working for the DNC and Hillary campaign via Fusion GPS.
These people are sneaky schemers and ordinary people would never imagine that someone would be so underhanded. We need to start imagining that there are people out there who are not acting in good faith.
Anything to protect their power, ANYTHING.
