Readers! A November fund-raising drive!

It is unfortunately time for another November fund-raising campaign to support my work here at Behind the Black. I really dislike doing these, but 2025 is so far turning out to be a very poor year for donations and subscriptions, the worst since 2020. I very much need your support for this webpage to survive.

And I think I provide real value. Fifteen years ago I said SLS was garbage and should be cancelled. Almost a decade ago I said Orion was a lie and a bad idea. As early as 1998, long before almost anyone else, I predicted in my first book, Genesis: The Story of Apollo 8, that private enterprise and freedom would conquer the solar system, not government. Very early in the COVID panic and continuing throughout I noted that every policy put forth by the government (masks, social distancing, lockdowns, jab mandates) was wrong, misguided, and did more harm than good. In planetary science, while everyone else in the media still thinks Mars has no water, I have been reporting the real results from the orbiters now for more than five years, that Mars is in fact a planet largely covered with ice.

I could continue with numerous other examples. If you want to know what others will discover a decade hence, read what I write here at Behind the Black. And if you read my most recent book, Conscious Choice, you will find out what is going to happen in space in the next century.

This last claim might sound like hubris on my part, but I base it on my overall track record.

So please consider donating or subscribing to Behind the Black, either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. I could really use the support at this time. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation. Takes about a 10% cut.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription, which takes about a 15% cut:

4. Donate by check. I get whatever you donate. Make the check payable to Robert Zimmerman and mail it to

A typical worker in the campaign of socialist Bernie Sanders

Another Project Veritas undercover video series has begun, this time focused on the violent, hateful, and murderous beliefs of the workers in the Bernie Sanders campaign.

The first video in the series is embedded below. Lots of bad language, but I think it important that every decent American, from both parties, watch it. Kyle Jurek unfortunately is very typical for many in the inner circles of the Democratic Party. He hates anyone who disagrees with him, considers them evil incarnate, and is quite willing to put them all up against a wall and kill them. And he isn’t alone, for if he was, there would no way anyone with his goals would be a “field organizer” for the Sanders campaign.

If you are long time Democrat, it is time for you to face facts. The party you belong to has nothing to do with the party you joined. It is now a hate-rant, aimed at power achieved by any means necessary. Woe to us all if this crowd wins in November.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon or from any other book seller. If you want an autographed copy the price is $60 for the hardback and $45 for the paperback, plus $8 shipping for each. Go here for purchasing details. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

The beauty of either the Leftist Warren or a Bernie supporter is that they fractionate the Democrat party. These candidates alienate a third or so of the Democrat party, and where does that leave them? Neither is acceptable to reasonable Democrat Americans. result? Low turn out.

And then you will be left with Bloomberg, who a third of the Democrat party is ideologically unable to vote for, they despise Billionaires and Capitalism.

And notice who is left out of the conversation / equation entirely, Joe Biden. Not even a consideration in the conversations that I am having. I have to remind people that he is running. Biden will be “retiring” by March? May?

And to add insult to injury, they are ALL old and white! Too funny.

And there are violent crazies at the extremes of either party, zealots that talk in these extreme terms like putting people in Gulags, or reeducation camps, or even promoting shooting them or similar, BS talk by ignorant BS people. Good work project Veritas.

    Cotour:

You talk a lot about conservatism. I assume you see yourself as a Conservative. This is strange because your kind of conservatism (like Mr. Z’s) is false, because it doesn’t conserve anything. For example, not even the marriage, only as binding of a man and a woman alone. It seems to me that you also tolerate sexualization of children by real existing society. That is not a conservative behavior.

I consider both of you as liberal-progressive, with a penchant for the free market and individualism. That fits well to the fact that you characterize real Conservatives as extremists. You are by no means a Conservative.

Let us mourn the death of a real conservative.

    Questioner,
You wrote to Cotour: “your kind of conservatism (like Mr. Z’s) is false, because it doesn’t conserve anything.

Your ignorance is showing yet again. You just called the Sierra Club conservative.

    Sorry, Idaho . . .

Not woe until us if they win in November, but instead woe be unto them! Why obey a Beria Bernie presidency? As a matter of fact, why obey any of the Democratic candidates if the win in November?

Thanks wayne. This story is a little confusing because he was arrested in Iowa on Sept 28th, 2019 for “possession of a controlled substance,’ “unlawful possession of prescription drug,” and “possession of drug paraphernalia.”

The January 8th, 2020 arrest, which I think was in Idaho but not sure, was for “violation of probation,” “failure to provide proof of financial liability,” indicating that police say he was unable to provide proof of insurance, “possession of drug paraphernalia,” and “operating while intoxicated – 2nd offense.”

Either way, I think he will be out of circulation for a while.
