The closing will result in Hostess’ nearly 18,500 workers losing their jobs as the company shuts 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers nationwide, as well as 570 outlet stores. The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union represents around 5,000 Hostess employees. “We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” said CEO Gregory Rayburn in a statement.
So, because 5,000 union workers wanted more from a company that had nothing more to give, 18,500 lose their jobs, including those same union workers.
Sounds sensible, and right in line with most leftwing math.

Should the administration step in and insure the workers jobs and not allow the company to liquidate?
Isn’t that the “right” thing to do?
Q: Does the company exist because first there were workers or do the jobs exist because first there was a business?
Imagine if every company with union employees decided to close doors… perhaps reopening later?

This petition was started by the White House.
Obviously they are hoping they can get enough signatures to make it look like a mandate from the people before they offer to buy out Hostess.
Watch for it in the next three weeks.
Like I have said before. We need to just get out of their way. Stay low for a few years and just agree to everything they want.
This country is already under water. 5 feet or ten makes no difference.
Obviously the business is only there because the Government made it possible in the first place.
