Readers!

The time has come for my annual short pre-Thanksgiving/Christmas fund drive for Behind The Black. I must do this every year in order to make sure I have earned enough money to pay my bills.

For this two-week campaign, I am offering a special deal to encourage donations. Donations of $200 will get a free autographed copy of the new paperback edition of Genesis: The Story of Apollo 8, while donations of $250 will get a free autographed copy of the new hardback edition. If you desire a copy, make sure you provide me your address with your donation.

As I noted in July, the support of my readers through the years has given me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription:

4. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

Leftist thugs harass conservative black woman and white man eating lunch

They’re coming for you next: Two of the leaders of the conservative Turning Point USA, Candace Owen and Charlie Kirk, were harassed today in Philadelphia by leftist antifa protesters, with one throwing a liquid on Kirk.

Police were required to prevent the protesters from getting violent.

It must be noted the Owens is black and Kirk is white. It appears that the leftists have a problem with them eating together. In fact, somehow this black activist is in favor of “white supremacy” according to these protesters.

This has only just begun. Should the Democrats make gains in the November elections, expect them to throw a great deal of financial support to these thugs, empowering them to do more violence against anyone who dissents from the leftist Democratic power structure.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

My take away on this is that it was not a random event. The couple was clearly tracked and a mob was on call once they were stationary – the attackers even designated someone to film what was going on. Question, what the bluidy hell was the restaurant management doing? If someone was harassing guests at my restaurant, the mob would be told to leave and if they didn’t, the police would be called in….was the restaurant in on it and they were the ones who called in the mob? Something is very fishy here

As much as I hate to say it, you know exactly what management was doing.

I think the technical term is ‘hiding’.

The militant left has a sort of policy in place where targets are identified that people are supposed to keep an eye out for. It is a popular tactic used at protest events but also something they use for direct actions like exhibited here.

So, spotting Candace Owens could have been a random event but the response wasn’t. The tactic, targets, communication channels, and organizers are all in place and ready to go.

Spot the target, send out the alert, mobilize the mob, and engage in direct action. It’s a canned response.

Antifa is fascist scum. Today’s Brownshirt totalitarians. Rich, pampered, full-of-themselves, congenital malcontents and mostly rich, white civil-rights-demigod-wannabes (Look at me, I’m Gandhi!) who would cower in terror at the genuine dangers faced by historical figures like Martin Luther King. Instead, they puerilely preen themselves on rabidly harassing and assaulting a perfectly innocent couple who have no power in society beyond the power of speech—a power Antifa venomously opposes for all but themselves. They are evil. Sick and evil. They will never forgive the universe for having dared to exist without consulting them first on the blueprints. Hence their ineradicable animus to all things not created in their image.

In related news: apparently, some thugs do not like to be identified, especially those who wear masks to their disruptive protests:
    https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/08/06/berkeley-police-criticized-for-posting-identities-of-antifa-protesters-this-is-very-disturbing?utm_source=site_scout

After about 20 people were arrested at a “No to Marxism in Berkeley” rally, most of them Antifa counterprotesters, the department publicized their names, photographs and cities of residence on social media.

Strangely, these arrested protesters should have known that they would be published, because this is not a Marxist nation, where people are arrested in secret. As part of being an open society, with an eye on police activity, for a long, long time newspapers have had sections called the “Police Blotter.”

Wearing a face covering especially to a political demonstration indicates that those participating are attempting to hide their identities for potentially nefarious reasons. If you show up to an event like that it might be reasonable to be confronted and be asked to remove you disguise and or be arrested?

I am sure some are but when you see the arrest photos, many look like meth heads.

Wearing a face covering especially to a political demonstration indicates that those participating are attempting to hide their identities for potentially nefarious reasons.

For Antifa, yes. But for other people, many want to avoid Antifa taking the fight off the streets and to your place of employment and to your family.

The current crop of lefties like to go after people’s families and employers.

New York State has a law on the books about wearing disguises dating back to the Rent Wars of the early Nineteenth
Century and has used recently against people just like you describe – and such use has stood up in court
