Musiquizzers – Guess that song: 60’s
An evening pause: It is amazing how many of these short clips (as well as the full songs) are still so familiar and well known, considering its more than a half century since they were first played on the radio. Speaks well to their originality and uniqueness.
But how many of the songs and performers can you guess?
Hat tip Diane Zimmerman.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News
Don’t think I’ve ever been consciously aware of “Les Cactus,” but everything else was familiar.
Ditto for me
I missed 7. 2 I got the song wrong in words. 1 I got the wrong song, but the band basically played the same song. The rest, I just had brain farts. Every song was familiar. I never knew the title of Las Cactus, but I’ve heard it, and as soon as it started I said to myself. “No clue.”
Being as old as I am, I got all but one — that “Cactus” item I don’t believe I ever heard. Did it actually make the charts?

->We need a guess-the-Movie quiz!
“Les Cactus,” apparently, if the internet is to be believed, reached #4 on the French singles chart, in 1967.
Pretty sure I never heard it.
One favorite of mine is “Camel Walk” from Southern Culture on the Skids
