Zbigniew Rybczyński – The Orchestra (final scene)
An evening pause: Music is of course Ravel’s Bolero. This provides us an elegant thumbnail history of the Soviet Union using dance, choreography, and clever filming. And it is honest, showing how the whole thing was run by gangstas, as all such top-down communist/socialist societies are, and as America is now adopting. More information about the entire work here.

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News
A DVD of the complete movie appears for sale on both Amazon and Ebay, however, the reviews indicate the video was not transfer in the original widescreen HDTV format and is not much better than a VHS tape. Does anyone know where a better copy can be obtained?
This is a compelling image, i think it will stay with me for a long time. The choice of Bolero is inspired, i love Ravel.
This pounds into you the realization that communism is built on the backs of those it purports to help. Achieving a higher level requires climbing over a mountain of people, corruption, selling out, and sucking up. The skeleton in the coffin, i’m assuming it is meant to be Lenin’s, near the top when it all comes crashing down is a nice touch.
Even now there are people promoting this, they think they will end up on top, but they won’t.
