John Prine and Iris DeMent – In Spite of Ourselves
An evening pause: Thanks to Keith for sending me this video. Note that I am open to any recommendations of good videos for posting as an Evening Pause, including music, engineering, comedy, anything quirky or interesting with a spark of originality.
Let me add that if you have something you want to recommend, don’t post the link in the comment. Just say in your comment that you want to recommend something and I will email you direct. I want to view and schedule these posts rather than have them appear in the comments first.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News
Too funny, thanks for the laugh!

Wonderful video Keith; thanks for posting Bob, showed this to my wife; ” Look/listen, it’s a couple singin’ to each other!” Ain’t it wonderful!
John Prine also has a very touching song that I like – “Hello in there”.
Thanks for sharing RZ !
John Prine is one of the “Yet-to-be-greatest”.
John’s “Hello in There” is exquisitely gentle.

Very nice. As an evening pause it wouldn’t be my first choice because as a general rule I want to see a live performance rather than an edited collection of images. I do make exceptions, however.
If you or anyone wants to send me any suggestions, please let me know and I will email you direct. I want people to email me the link so I can view and schedule it rather than have it appear in the comments first.
